Our gov't has no idea how we are suffering, this situation must change because we the citizens who work very hard in this country, are being displaced. Anyone who is not investing now is really missing a tremendous opportunity, imagine investing $1000 and receiving $5,600.

I got laid off by Valley National Bank in July. It was their second wave of layoffs and, from what I understand they are probably going to be more. They are heavily dependent on commercial real estate loans, especially for those properties in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida. The north east properties were so exposed to Covid loss and now are facing refinancing at considerably higher rates when they’re three, five, or seven year rate locks renew. Additionally, of course, they are not doing well running against the high interest rate environment that limits their returns.
Two of my SILs worked there (Valley National). No longer. Just paid off a car loan with them last year.

Like all these videos/documentaries, they speak lots of truth (i.e. “The Great Taking”). - But they never get to the heart of the matter of who/why this is occurring. No one ever speaks of the Vatican and the Jesuits. They never want to talk about (expose) “the elephant in the room.”
Really, banks require more regulation. The entire idea of banking as "let's gamble" is terrifying. Because they discovered in 2008 that the government will always bail them out, there are no repercussions. These bank crisis are so worrisome. This whole financial crisis and the Great Recession posed the most significant macroeconomic challenges for the United States in a half-century, leaving behind high unemployment and below-target inflation and calling for highly accommodative

Also, to be fair, the Fed isn’t lowering interest rates because everything is wonderful. They are keeping interest rates high, and may even raise them because things are not so good on the inflation front. Things are still very expensive and inflation has not come down to any reasonable level.I’m sure they believe that lower interest rates will spur people to try and borrow and spend and reignite or continue to fan the flames of inflation.
