    Interesting meeting, not sure why Paul was acting that way though. It was a very rushed meeting...like they were both uncomfortable being there. Ozzy was ecstatic to meet his life long idol and I get the feeling that he sensed Paul's 'awkwardness' and Ozzy felt like he had to leave asap...Ozzy seemed a little disappointed by Paul's reaction. I know how he feels, I've been in that situation with someone I admired and upon meeting them, they were acting the same way. It's sad really.
    Also...after Paul turned his back on Ozzy.....Ozzy felt like he had to leave because he was'nt getting any love back from Paul. That's why Paul invited him for a Picture because he Knew Ozzy was'nt feeling comfortable after Paul turned his back on him! Can you imagine how many Rock and Roll Stars told Paul that he's their Idol in the last 40 years!? It probley feels real uncomfortable for him to hear that coming from a fellow Rock Idol like Ozzy.

      I think Paul was upset because he was expecting Tony Iommi to sign his Black Sabbath album cover . Just kidding, Ozzy is a gift from God. Paul coulda been a little more empathetic towards Ozzy's enthusiasm in meeting him but maybe this was just a informal rushed meeting . Ozzy's still kicking ass and Paul is only a former member of the Beatles . I know Ozzy would kick me in the nuts for saying this.

    McCartney was the opposite of being "cold" toward Osborne. He even let Ozzy know he knew about his past noting a story in Ozzy's biographical book about a crazy burglary near the onset of Ozzy's career in music when he was just a teenager after Ozzy complimented Paul by telling him he is the reason (The Beatles) that Ozzy got into music in the first place.
    /
    It is quite obvious Paul was being polite and friendly; McCartney even smiled at Ozzy when Ozzy came into the room with him, and Paul hugged Ozzy when he was being called to go.

    • @priscillacrow4016
      @priscillacrow4016 9 лет назад +3

      Everybody knew about that before the book was ever even a thought in anyone's head. Ozzy has told the story many many times.

    • @nycinstyle
      @nycinstyle 9 лет назад +33

      Priscilla Crow The point is McCartney was being friendly by mentioning this humorous time in Osborne's life. Even Ozzy jokes about it as he writes about it in his autobiography.

      @priscillacrow4016 9 лет назад +4

      I get that...but did ya see Ozzy go up and throw one of Paul's stupid moves in his face? No...Ozzy was cool about meeting him and complimented him...Paul didn't return the favor in my book

    • @nycinstyle
      @nycinstyle 9 лет назад +19

      Priscilla Crow We disagree. I think he was being polite to Ozzy. However, neither one of us are mind readers and only the two of them can know how they were really feeling during their meeting as seen in the video.

"Oh no, look who it is...." or "Oh God, you've not let 'im in..." roughly translated, means 'Ozzy, I'm delighted to finally meet you!". Even though they've never met, Macca is treating Ozzy like an old friend. I call that being charming.

    A lot of comments seem to have got it wrong. Let me give my take.
    On Ozzy entering McCartney treated him as a friendly equal who he was glad to meet. Ozzy then started acting as a fan which put McCartney off a bit, a McCartney tried to show he was a fan of Ozzy. But Ozzy kept going at it and McCartney relented and treated him as a fan and then it suddenly dawned on McCartney what an influence he had been on someone he admired. A bit of a shock to both of them. What people forget is that nearly all celebrities think of themselves as ordinary people.

Ozzy respected Paul by not trying to take up his time, and yet Paul gave Ozzy a small gift by pointing out that the guy who made films for The Beatles was there in the same room. Two people meeting for the first time..Ozzy had never met Paul before and Ozzy is a mad Beatles fan...Ozzy is actually really shy believe it or not without drugs and drink...was probably a bit overwhelmed to meet his hero. Thought Paul was courteous...imagine how many meet and greets he has to do before a gig?

    I let him out in traffic going round Trafalgar Sq. in the early 80's, he was with Linda & the kids in an open top Roller. Only recounting this as he smiled & gave me a big Paul McCartney open hand "Thank you!" which might be the measure of the man.

    I think Paul completely understands how awkward Ozzy feels and is in this moment. To Ozzy, Paul is GOD like. I think Ozzy wants to just say how important The Beatles where to him. Paul is being pulled in a 100 different directions, but also understands how meaningful it is to Ozzy. It is why he called him back for a picture. Ozzy is most likely afraid of geeking out and become a gushing fanboy.

    I don't think he treated Ozzy like a fan, I think it was a very fast, impromptu meeting and had all the other folks not been around they might have had a good chat, why do people always assume someone is looking down their nose when they don't have the time to do a proper greeting? We are talking about 45 seconds here, was Paul s'posed to jump in with "how's the wife and kids, Ozzy?" Ozzy also knows when you're in some sort of press junkit, if you're going to interrupt someone, to get in and get out, which he did. Hezakya has let it be known he is disappointed in Paul and his company, but it's a bit childish to try and make him out as just a rude suit on any video he can find. I don't know the reasons he feels upset, but you'd come off much more classy to state your displeasure on the business deal and stop attacking him as a person. If you have talent, like cream, you will rise to the top without Paul or his company. No malice intended toward Hezakya, just saying, focus on you and your talent, not Paul.

      I think you put words in Hezakaya's mouth..you said way more then he did. All he was saying was Paul was being a bit rude to Ozzy...and I agree with him. They are both huge stars...Howard could have waited a few minutes and it wouldn't have killed him. Paul didn't have to bring up the burglary story...shit, let dead dogs lie down...He could have simply said he loved his work or anything else. And to say he would have blown his guy which was why he didn't do it is absurd. Any of Ozzy's bass players and or Guitar players would have made Paul look like an amateur. But your whole statement was how Hezakaya was wrong for saying what he said...and he didn't say anything wrong...your the one pointing fingers.

    • @priscillacrow4016
      @priscillacrow4016 9 лет назад

      You attack someone for their opinion but their the dimwit? I think you have life messed up. And no in my opinion Paul is that he NOT one of the greatest bass players ever...but opinions are kinda like assholes...we all have one...and sometimes have to deal with them as well, kinda like me having to deal with you. So you can take your opinion and your insults (boohoo my feelings are hurt) and shove them straight up your sphincter. Ya know what that is don't ya? Or are you to stupid to figure that out as well?

    I think that you are completely misunderstanding Paul McCartney, and even Ozzy. I think Ozzy, also being British, knows that Paul never would have said, "Oh, no, don't let him in here" as a joke, unless he was feeling completely friendly with him.
    There is no doubt that Paul has an ego... how could he not? But I honestly think that he DID NOT treat Oz like a fan, at all!
    There is also a HUGE chance that Paul is not a fan of Ozzy's music. I mean, think about the music that Paul McCartney grew up on.... HE is OLD! Kanye West is not HEAVY METAL.
    I LOVE METAL, and I love Ozzy, but someone born in 1942 may not be into head banging music! How many grandparents, and GREATgrandparents do we hold it against for not liking HEAD BANGING MUSIC? I think Paul McCartney showed Ozzy a lot of respect... much more than most 72 year olds would!
