Thank you Bishop Barron and Word on Fire for explaining the Synod on Synodality so well, and clearly and faithfully. God bless you all, from New Zealand ❤
A Deliverance Prayer I learn yesterday By the power of the Precious Blood, by the Name of Jesus and by the intercession of Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, St. Michael the Archangel, all Holy Angels and Saints. I command the demon of (state the problem youre having) to stop afflicting me, my ancestor, my family, my cherished loved ones, my descendants, and all members of the Catholic Church, and go to the foot of the cross to receive your sentence. Amen
Avoid blaming and focus on how his behavior affects the targeted pattern. The words " go back to your country" and throwing things at me every day, show triggers strong emotions and have a significant impact on his mental health, including anger, sadness, and disappointments. It's must be a need to address the growing crisis in the school. Please, don't give up.
Oh yesssss! Let us all channel our inner Ratzinger! Amen. Pope Benedict XVI must surely be recognised as a saint, soon, please God. He was clearly so in love with Our Lord.
Thank you for this discussion. I am particularly concerned about the changes that have already been expressed and proposed by Pope Francis and the documents coming from the Papal offices. Also the statements and Liturgical options, “Mayan Rite” but no TLM, create great confusion and distress among the Faithful. JOHN 14: 6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” 🙏🏻🕊✝️🕊🙏🏻
"Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” -Matthew 18:19-20 God bless ✌
Thank you, Bishop Barron, for kindly sharing your experiences and insights from attending the Synod on Synodality, as well as for addressing questions about the structure of the Synod, the role of synodality in church governance, some of the key issues discussed during the sessions of the Synod and some of your concerns. Thank you Matthew for conducting such an interesting interview. For those who have not read the Final Document that came out from the Synod on Synodality, I suggest that you download it from the Synod’s web site, pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and then not just read it but study it. It is not a trivial endeavor, but it is important.
Oh , the church confounds me in so many ways , always has , and I think ,will continue to do so . My eyes , heart , are set on Christ . Loving my triple B , thanks .
I'm glad you were able to speak regarding social media at the Synod! I was born into a Catholic family and was blessed with 12 years of Catholic School. But after high school, I finished my prep classes for confirmation. After great personal contemplation and prayer, I painfully decided that I did not feel a calling to commit to any religion. I was always grateful the Catholic church was (somehow!) able to get the teachings of Jesus to me after 2000 years, but the Church's apparent fear/denial of science only fed my skepticism. Certain events have brought me back, however. It was an eye-opener to learn that the theory of the Big Bang was introduced by Catholic astrophysicist/priest Georges Lemaître! I've had a lifelong curiosity about Jesus of Nazareth the man and how the Holy Spirit through Him saved my soul! YOUR presence on social media, and YOUR explanations of how the Church has reconciled the historical inaccuracies of the Old Testament has restored my faith. Thank you, Bishop!
Thanks for sharing your story and it's great that you came back. It is disappointing that members of the church were anti science and discouraging to you. God be with you!
I would LOVE for the church to provide places and events for people to meet... especially young people of the faith who would like to make friends or meet a future spouse.
We need Bishop Barron at the next Synod, the one after that, and each of them, health permitting and God willing! The Catholic Church needs him as an active and engaged champion. The Germans are trying to destroy the Chuch!
Bp. Barron, I never miss your Sunday homilies, you interview great guests and Word on Fire is a great source, I have learned a great deal from your talks on so many subjects, including philosophy. But, on "synodality" Bp. Barron, either your in a position where you dare not speak your mind, or you may have to climb, re-survey all that is about, and regain perspective. I continue to pray for you.
There are plenty of othet churches that have female pastors so these women may need to look at joining one of those instead of trying to change the catholic church. As a woman, i do not want female deacons or priests.
I would argue they need not leave the Catholic Church which is the true church but to soften their heart to Gods truth, and not be so stuck on what they want
@abrareads Women can't be priests, impossible. Infallible teaching of the Church says so. "Deaconesses" is another question, though (there were Deaconesses in the Scriptures and throughout the first millennium, but that's a whole other theological and prudential question, eg.,what actually IS a "Deaconess"? Is it the result of a Sacrament, or something else? Is it PRUDENT to bring that office back now? Etc. )
Dont be taken in. This church only listens to progressive voices. It does not listen to the majority of young catholics who want their authentic Catholicism back. The Synod is stacked with woke radicals. And PF handing power to these same.revolutionaries going forward. Clergy who simply want to be traditional are suppressed and imprisoned in a modernist hell, or worse, excommmunicated for daring to follow the practices and belief of 2000 years of Catholicicsm. Is it still the Catholic church?
But what does that actually mean, listening? What is the goal? Listening for listening's sake or change? And if it is change, what does that look like? To me it feels a bit fluffy. Style over substance. Like constantly telling people to be kind and respectful. Listening to others should be an obvious thing to do. Six weeks ago I listened to a Priest deliver a homily at my Cathedral. He said that the readings were "all about listening. That they were asking us to listen". He used the phrase 'we must listen' on multiple occasions. I thought to myself how on earth is he making this link? I then came to the conclusion that there was no link and that he was simply delivering Pope Francis' message in a very blunt and inauthentic way. I left feeling depressed.
@@ApostleOfMercy This is what I meant with my comment. Other institutions are purely concerned with immediate change and transitory goals. The Church is not like that. It doesn't need to be limited to doing what's necessary at any given time. Maybe we're not taking any specific actions because of the synod but we're aware of what ideas are floating around in the world, we're also understanding the problems of the Church, and strenghtening our understanding of one a other. As for listening, I think it's an important Christian idea. In the Bible, you can see often that Jesus believed in quiet prayer and listening to God's will.
*Bishop Barron:* Synodality is a mode of organizing Church Life, where consultation, accountability and transparency are at the centre of our preoccupation.
Whenever the church thinks about the future thinks about changes that are necessary. My belief is, that if we could travel through time we would Always be able to recognize the church And it's Teachings. Sometimes instead we often see the church try to be more like this world and the secular in order to be more attractive. When Jesus said he wants us to be Fishers of Men, it's not to be mistaken with a different type of fishing that we're used to with a rod and reel. We can change the bait and try new tactics. No fishing for them would have meant casting a wide net in other words going out and pulling and dragging as many back to the boat as possible. So our tactics should be this to always be casting our net as widely as we can. And knowing where the fish are and meeting them there. Thank you,
If Jesus did not offer priestly ordination to His Mother, the best option ever for that possibility, how can the Church expect to improve on His decision today?
The question about women being PRIESTS is not up for debate (that was settled by JPII in 1994 with "Ordinatio Sacerdotalis"). The question at hand is about whether or not the Church would bring back the "Deaconess" office that was present in the Apostolic Church and for at least much of the first millennium. As of now, Pope Francis is saying, "No", to that question. But, it's not impossible for the Church to bring that office back (whether that would be prudent or not is another question altogether, though).
Jesus did not offer it to women because the society at the time didn't view women as having any rights and were subservient. Is it still the same today. By that logic we should not ride in cars because Jesus never rode in a car. Bishop Barron always says we need to take into account the time and culture of scripture when reading it.
@Banjoman-p7t As JPII points out in "Ordinatio Sacerdotalis", the document in which he infallibly declared that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women, Jesus acted counter to many other societal expectations concerning women by raising women to a very high dignity, eg., He spoke to the woman at the well, He appointed WOMEN to be the first to announce the Resurrection, etc. So, as JPII states, we can't ascribe, as a reason for Jesus not choosing women to be priests, mere societal reasons (because Christ showed He doesn't really care about those!) Rather, there are deeper reasons, eg., the priest is a SYMBOL of Christ precisely as He is BRIDEGROOM of the Church, and only a man can symbolize Christ as BRIDEGROOM. At any rate, JPII taught this definitively/infallibly and stated it's not merely disciplinary nor is it open for debate, and that he was teaching as Pastor of the whole Church. Thus, this question was settled at least then, if not earlier. Peace.
@@blessedvirginmaryisqueen8448it's difficult to tell if the deaconess is spoken of in the New testament was an ordained office or simply someone assisting, Deacon can also be translated as servant. While there may have been some sort of quasi office of Deaconess to deliver the Eucharist along with the deacons, as the office of Deacon evolved into a more liturgically focused position, I don't believe it would be possible or prudent to extend that office to women. The role of the Deaconess can already be done by women who are extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion. But as far as liturgical functions of Deacons as it is closely tied to the priesthood which is male only, it would not be appropriate to have a woman in that role.
God bless Bishop Robert Barron and his work! When i was preparing for my wedding i needed to gather all of the papers needed. And parish offices hours of work were from 9-10 only in fridays. And I thought do we really need a priest to do this kind of job? To stamp a piece of paper? My mother is retired some kind of IRS in my country. She knows the job, she even liked it and she will be closer to the priest in case of any doubts. It's a good think to consider. Bless You all brothers and sisters!
Maybe the organizers were trying to make the bishops to be like children again with all the school-like schedules. Thanks to all the bishops who are really awesome and protect us the sheep. ¡Viva Cristo Rey!
Ever been to a wedding? There are the preparations, the plans, the event, the actual wedding, and the reception, and then, there is the actual marriage. These are kind of different departments. I think it might helpful if the church considered this, in trying to sort things out for itself, as the bride of Jesus Christ.
I agree with you Bishop Barron that the question of ordination of women and married priests shoukdNOT be left opened. Your explanation of the meaning of that is great. Thank you for clarifying it. I would like to see women being allowed to serve in a comparable way S lay ordained deacons. On the other hand, I think the ordination of lay deacons needs to be cleaned up, especially after a lay deacon finally resigned from the foaconate because of fear his wife had over Covid. She did not want her husband to serve as a deacon.
By all accounts, any sort of deaconess in the early church was primarily tasked with distributing communion outside of mass to people who couldn't go. This is no longer an exclusive task of the deaconate and is shared with lay extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion. I can see doing some sort of recognition of this ministry and having that open to women but the diaconate has changed in his character to be more liturgically focused and should therefore continue to be open to only men. Married priests on the other hand is purely a disciplinary matter in the Latin church. Church other churches in the Catholic church allow married priests. The two issues are apples and oranges. Ordination of women is impossible, ordaining married men is already taking place in various rites of the church and with Protestant converts to the faith who have previously ordained in Protestant ministry (principal episcopalians and lutherans)
The church needs to be built up on that rock Foundation and remain consistent. We have to meet people where they're at and let them know why we are just as relative now as we were then. People are still intelligent and they do like and are attracted to the history and the great knowledge that the church has to offer. And there needs to be a change to our history books and scientific journals. Anywhere that fails to list men of God by their title such as father and priest and deacon etc. They have no problem listing Professor PhD or doctors. But they just as deservingly need to be recognized for their belief in God also we all need to be reminded that belief in God has a great deal of influence on our creativity and scientific discovery
Today, I'm not confused and I wasn't born here in the United States. I have been praying for all people, especially those who were born here in the United States who serve in Afghanistan, Baghdad, and those people who never paid taxes here in the United States, because they are isolated and in prison, and all people who weren't born here, especially our priest in Wilbur WA. He doesn't have a birth certificate here and our Pope Francis because we are living in God's land. Also, I pray for all people who never practiced their faith, they're ignorant and have been passed on to their family generations. May God be good and gracious and invite us to recognize and reverence His divine image and likeness, especially in our neighbor. Please, don't give up, and don't be discouraged that we are enabled to see the reality of racism, and frees us to challenge and pull up into our society, our world, and ourselves. Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the time with your family that are born here. ST. SARAH, Pray for Us. St. JOSEPH, PRAY for us. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
The synod sounds like one long WASC accreditation process 😅… tedious, but fruitful! Grateful the Holy Spirit is moving the Church to increase involvement and transparency!
19:20 this is what I was thinking when I heard the results of the synod. In the USA it's already done. There are pros and cons. Like a finance counsel is a good idea and it's great to have the laity involved in the life of the parish, but liturgically sometimes. I don't think all of the parish council members know what they're talking about. Especially the boomers.
I think the general question about women's ordination to the deaconate misunderstands the language of the New testament. Someone being listed as a deacon was not necessarily an ordained deacon but could simply be listed as a minister or servant, which is what the word means. Likewise, presbyter was used to mean both the ordained position and old people. By all accounts of the early church. Any sort of deaconess was principally involved with distributing Holy Communion outside of mass. This is no longer an exclusive role of the deaconate and is shared with extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion. We could certainly make this into some sort of lay ministry that would be open to women but the principal character of the deaconate a has shifted to a more liturgical role serving alongside the priest at the altar. This is something that I can't see ever being open to women as it shares in some way characteristics of the priesthood.
The synod on synodality was introduced as a listening exercise. However, the concluding document was described as a magisterial document, which means it has become a teaching document for all Catholics. The synod on synodality has changed the teaching authority of the Church to include lay people of varying beliefs. Bishops are the successors to the Apostles thus they have the Divine right to teach the faith. Lay people do not share the Divine right to teach the Faith. Thus we now have a Church that does not teach with the same authority. This is a radical change in the governance of the Church. Personally, I would not entrust my immortal soul to the care of lay people. I believe in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, which upholds the Tradition and the Deposit of Faith. Traditionally, the mission of the Church is the salvation of souls. This has been lost in the present Magisterium. The salvation of souls is not ever mentioned, nor is repentance which is a prerequisite for entering the kingdom of God. For the Church and the salvation of souls...🙏🙏🙏
Not at all. The document has MAGISTERIAL authority precisely because the MAGISTERIUM, i.e., the POPE, gave it his stamp of approval, and for no other reason. Believe in and trust Christ and His promise to guide and protect the Church from error, don't buy in to the fear mongers who have the gall to arrogate to themselves the label "traditional Catholic" while holding anything but traditional Catholic views and trust on the Magisterium.
Also, your assertion that the Magisterium doesn't anymore focus on salvation or reparation for sin, etc., is simply false (again, this leads me to suspect you're not actually reading the Magisterium but simply headlines from dissenters and critics of the Holy Father). Simply read the Pope's recent Encyclical on the Sacred Heart ("Dilexit Nos")-- one will be hard-pressed to find a document more beautiful and instructive on these very topics. Trust Christ and His Church, not fear mongers. Peace.
@@blessedvirginmaryisqueen8448 The Magisterium is the official teaching authority of the Church, constituted by the Pope and the Bishops in union with him, not the Pope alone. A document has now been declared as Magisterial with the inclusion of lay people, some of whom express heretical views on settled doctrine. From the Dogmatic Constitution of the First Vatican Council: Pastor Aeternus: "For the Holy Spirit was not promised to the successors of Peter that by His revelation they might make known new doctrine, but that by His assistance they might inviolably keep and faithfully expound the Revelation, the Deposit of Faith, delivered through the Apostles" When Peter decided to walk away from God's plan̈ of salvation, Peter was rebuked by Jesus with the words: "get behind me Satan". This should be our own response when Peter decides to do his own thing. Otherwise, we risk losing our immortal soul, and leading souls to Hell. I do not say, or think, Pope Francis is wrong or misleading or confusing in all he says and writes. For instance in the the latest document on the Sacred Heart Pope Francis uses the word repent on one occasion. However, one wonders why Pope Francis chooses to surround himself with prelates and priests who express heretical notions. (FYI, I attend Novus Ordo Mass.)

far easier 2 allow them 2 chat over coffee then set the group dynamics in play - people will gravitate 2 their own kind.....the group will always find its level.....and at the end- each group shares its position.
Bishop Barron, "Spirit of the counsel?!!!" Do you mean a worldly spirit?? How are people going to get fed or led to God? I finally finished listening to the whole video. I liked what Bishop Barron spoke at 24:35 thru 25:01. I am glad that the Holy Spirit was prayed often and some of you stood up opposing Germany. Now that you saw how they see things in a moraly wrong they should be counseled and set straight. Well we have great evidence still available what happened in the years passed. I like to see people continue to live. A SUGGESTION for the next Synod on Synodality. Before attending ALL should do a consecration to Mary " True Devotion To Mary" by St. Louis De Montfort.
I think the definition of “synod” is so confusing to us Catholics… The only place I know where the word Synod is used is for Lutheran churches Why couldn’t the Pope use a different word, thus diminishing some confusion? I’m discouraged that Barron is my Diocese Bishop and he’s been gone for weeks at meetings about how the “Planners Improve on Planning”. I don’t think we’ll see any benefit as parishoners😢
👍 “…the best part “ , («very good» part) perhaps because only then one Re-Cognises that only after Six hrs «Blessing» intense work one may have wholly «Blessed» Holy time.
May more of our brothers hold the great privilege of Serving the Risen One, the Generous One who gives Everything in exchange for very little: our scarce and lukewarm worldly love. the one who makes better all the souls that, sincerely repentant, ask him for it in Prayer May the Queen of the Happy, our pride as human creatures, lead the entire Celestial army to a new and final Victory, against the slave and dead army. May our Creator listen with joy to the Happiness in His little children declaiming and proclaiming Victory, in the face of the proud and their death. May He who takes away the sin of this world, see us calm down, reflect, be Humble, objectively and sincerely analyze our decisions, and see us repent, thus, perhaps He will be able to have Mercy on us.
I would like to comment In reference to the callers question I have been in several different parishes through my life (total of 5) in the Philadelphia area I have found them not equipped to do what the Church is asking To go out and evangelize They were and are the ones I was directly involved with in various parish groups but they all lacked in embracing the whole parish as a whole Each group in the parish all act separately And are unaware Of who is in the actual Parish There is no Synergy in these parishes So I feel We are not equipped As a group to go out to others If we don’t even personal know the people that around us During Mass A strong us and them feeling is prevalent and not wanting To connect with each other So how can we connect with the outside world Thx you
Right! It’s time for us ( “all kind” guys among this gathering) to depart from this hard land towards the West & let’s >, since the floody route in which we’re gonna be floating will wash away all “old fashion Bronze Age” dust from our feet ! We, the “easy-going ones whose arms are not strong enough «to grasp The Cross - like railings by this immense “wise” & torrential modern route that will carry us off……» , ready? Let’s float , I mean to be floated! (& also let’s “hope” this torrential route is not gonna drain down into a heated pool in which “there are many more bobbles _ colourful bobbles _ which have yet to pop up”! ) /// Let’s “hope” !
Depending on what we call and consider a King, we will value some decisions or others, both in others and those that emanate from ourselves In my opinion, a King is a spiritual King like David was when he was the little brother who looked after the sheep, and was the only one to defend God the Creator against Goliath, the warrior of the Canaanite peoples and their false gods, who had the entire Israelite army in anguish, and no one wanted to confront him. The only Brave and Humble was that shepherd boy, King in the eyes of his Most High Father, our eternal Creator an earthly king is one who is caught up in power struggles, infamies of corruption and lust, a puppet of the dead beast, a withered one to decide Holyly, is one who only boasts in a fictitious power, of very short duration and bitter regret, corrupted by being incapable of displaying power without dying spiritually for his infamous decisions in what we have each decided that is a King, or is a king, so we will also pay more attention and applaud internally what emanates from each one of them better to decide in Good, deciding in the Commandments of those who become and are children of God the Creator, than to die in infamous decisions, which open our soul to sin, and ravage that house in which they enter, until making it succumb those who have decided, in our arrogance, trying to be or to be subjects of God Christ, Son of the eternal Most High, King among all the royal Holiness of the creatures deserving of being Filial in the little son of God the Creator, let us seek to create in this brevity the Kingdom that our Savior promised us, as a logical consequence of the Holy decisions, of which HE takes care every day until the end of this world.
Did you not hear those parts about them praying a lot and bringing Christ to the world??? Why would you even question this?? Seems like an uncharitable suspicion (a suspicion that Jesus would not approve).
@andrew-c1y9b Yes, it's funny that one would question this since the good bishop mentioned a number of times their invocation of Christ and preaching of Christ... and why would this be questioned in the first place? Unless one holds uncharitable, Pharisaical suspicions contrary to the very teachings of Christ Himself....
@@DoNotDisturb116 No, it's not. First, His Excellency already answered the question in the affirmative. Secondly, it's Pharisaical and condescending to even ask it.

The Synodal way seems to be about the Church as a big 'tent' and "listening" as I understand it. The Church has always been a 'tent', as all are invited. The Church has always invited and listened to repentant sinners. This is the crux of the matter in my humble opinion. What do we do with Catholic clergy and laiety who go against bedrock principles of the faith like Fr James Martin? It seems that Pope Francis is applauding those groups rather than correcting them. This is confusing and confusion is of the evil one. This is the crisis in a nutshell. It feels like the 'tent' analogy is that everyone is welcome in the Church including those who do not repent of their sin - and that we should listen to why they are obstinate in their sin...and accomodate them rather than instruct them on the bedrock principles of the faith P.S. That was not as succinct as I would've liked but there seem to be serious problems in the Church that the Synod on Synodality is not addressing, or even trying to address. Lord have mercy on us poor sinners.
I am German and you are absolutely right, this is what they are trying to achieve with the Synodal way. I don’t think it makes sense tho. First of all: If we throw the truth overboard just to be inclusive, what even is the point of it? The early Christians could have said that it is totally fine to worship the emperor as a god, that might have made them more appealing to Roman society and spared them a lot of the persecution but of course they didn’t do it. Why should we act different now? Secondly I think it is futile even strategically. If the Church were to fully conform with the secular society, it will get applauded for it by those people but would they join? Would they attend mass every Sunday? A few individuals maybe but the vast majority wouldn’t. They don’t believe in God and hate organized religion. They wouldn’t join just because their ideology is in the sermons, there are more than enough spaces they can go to for that, where it doesn’t come attached to the „God-stuff“ they dislike. Imo God and piety have to be at the center, not questions over doctrine because people who believe in God will come, even if they disagree on a couple of specific doctrines but people who do not believe will never come, no matter what the church is doing.
Having just less than three minutes to comment about «a noisy marketplace where everyone talks & cackles 24/7 , but no one has time to sit quietly in the nest to hatch eggs»!
I found this report VERY discouraging. One point on only one issue: it has been said when the camel is permitted to put his nose into the tent, the rest of the camel will eventually follow.
This hasn’t even aired yet and it’s clear the few comments are testifying to the fact that we need to have a synod. We have to agree on what the Church teaches and be willing to share it in love not with insults and accusations but with a listening merciful heart. And yes the traditional arm of the church needs to be heard as well
The women are already doing deacon roles without actually being deacons… they walk into the sanctuary, read sacred scripture from the pulpit, handle the holy vessels, and distribute Holy Eucharist. These are things only ordained deacons and priests should be doing and historically did. Dangerously slippery slope to codify women’s roles to be more like deacons even if they aren’t “ordained”
If you're jealous, you can contribute anytime. In serving the church is part of being a disciple of Christ. Jesus commanded people to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). You can quit anytime if you feel that the priest is using use for His loving.
@ not jealous at all. Just pointing out roles fit for ordained men. I’d say that women want to participate which is a noble intention, but is disordered as it is not fitting to the sex. And that’s a fact.
@forehead949 you always have wasted time. You are the ruler of the darkness that is the fact. Just focus on your job description if you don't want to cooperate as a hood citizen on earth.
You can try the "problem" from any angle, and you will still find that that there is no solution to the problem. The fact is that the meaning is exactly as God set forth in the Old Testament and the New testament. This is preparation time. The foundation is the context of a wedding, a marriage. And the Bridegroom is Jesus Christ. Now if the bride does not know what to do, it might be a good time to consider the commandments of Jesus Christ, per the Gospel and the Ten Commandments. Want life? Come and get it, at the alter. And don't turn back. Time matters. And it is not about the money. Scripture tells us, you have sold yourselves for nought, and you will be redeemed without money. It is time for good stewardship, and it is time to refer to the visceral attitude that God set up - Old Testament and New Testament.
I'm sorry it's jealousy of those who are involved. You can do your part by contributing your earnings to those in need at my workplace. I'm going to file a complaint to describe the plaintiff's damages, disturbance, harm, and harassment, as well as to explain how the defendant caused the harm to me. It will be a shame for the administration because they will be wire fasting 🦀🦀 while it's processing. God is always winning. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. St. Joseph, pray for us. Today, I (the plaintiff) observed the defendant to be very calming down this time. I offered everything to God. This afternoon the police pulled me over because I was running like a craze. I appreciated the police and thanked him for correcting me. My husband was examining me when I got home from work.
And a presumptuous layperson may define it («cynically & yet innocently!») in such way ; a temporarily stillness of «a River that is not afraid of looking back, rather wants to reflect _ before reaching the end _ lest It lose her way in the thousands labyrinths of the future.» / it’s a sign of hope , I’d say
I love the Bishop and hope that one day he is a Cardinal and I have been so blessed by his wonderful teaching…but he is flannelling on the synod which was a colossal waste of time. A talking shop for talkers.
the bishop clearly identified the synod as it is .......devoid of the Holy Spirit .......litmus paper comment .......IT WAS EXHAUSTING...... compare that 2 the Welsh revival, Acuzza street , Brownsvile Pensacola....the people after a hard days work could not wait 2 return to the Holy Spirit meetings.....
I think you are confusing a meeting under the Authority of the Holy Spirit and a meeting under the Charism of the Holy Spirit. The former is exhausting and it makes definitive binding declarations. The latter is joy filled and intended to lift up the attendants spirits; nothing binding or definitive was declared from them. The Authority of the Holy Spirit is handed down by the laying on of hands in Holy Orders. It comes from the top down. The Charism of the Holy Spirit comes from Baptism and amplified in Confirmation. To moves from the bottom up. Without both, the church is incomplete. To reject the Authority is to reject the Church. To reject the Charism is to reject the Church. You see the Authority in the Church as a whole. You see the Charism in individuals.
If anything that is exhausting is "devoid of the Holy Spirit", then I think parents of many children are in a bad position-- not much, if anything, more exhausting than THAT! I think your criterion is lacking.
Women already have an ordination, to become nuns, why should this Pope Francis and his friend Fernandez want to give women something similar to deacons but not ordained? Complete nonsense...

As a human person, no one is higher that the Blessed Virgin Mary, She is the Queen of Heaven, even higher than all the angels and all the Saints and all the Doctors of the Church, but she is not a priest. Our Lord Jesus Christ did not and does not want a woman to be a priest, not because women are below men or because men are better than women, but just because God wants things like that, it is His Kingdom, He is the Lord God, He decides and we must just trust and obey. What is it that Nuns cannot do that they will be able to do as a so called non ordained deaconess? These feminists are the same ones who refuse to call God ( father ) and want to call God Mother, blasphemous. Do you understand now why i said complete nonsense? But you are right though, maybe i should`ve said, complete satanic ( Satan means the adversary and the opponent )
Your prayers weren't answered and not gaining. Remember all the torture is always back to me. He doesn't allow torture on Earth because he died for us. I'm sorry your prayers don't work at all.
"occasion to bear witness", in our generation of arrogant, lustful and cynical; in which we have no mercy with our neighbors, even less with the weak, in which we do not form Families and too many Innocents are not born, and in which we remain in lies without seeking healing, there are plenty of opportunities to bear witness to God Christ. Being attacked by the dead beast, and by our unfortunate brothers who are puppets of that beast, is an unequivocal symptom of treading the good Path, the one that Saves our soul in God Christ. We only come with our own soul, housed briefly in a material body, and we only leave with our soul, leaving what was our material body in its place. praying the Holy Rosary, is one of the best decisions that a soul in trial could decide, this test is very brief, and by doing good, one passes much better
In my opinion, perhaps the Celestial City in which those already proven worthy of being children of God the Creator live, and with all the impurity of every unworthy spirit discarded, the cursed Babylon destroyed, sunk and put in its place, this earth and universe of matter created, will be inhabited by those who have shown themselves worthy of being children of the Most High, for whom this earth and this universe were created It seems that the last Christians, or the generation of Christians referred to by Saint John, the disciple Beloved by God Christ, will be tested in the beheading In my mere opinion, words and signs that we do not see are inscribed in our soul, inscriptions based on Victory and decisive defeat. In the sacrament of sincere Confession, we can restore the purity that our Lord, the Good Shepherd, grants us In that new time, there is no longer the test or its uncertainty, but the certainty of having behaved, in the decision-making merit, as a soul worthy of our Creator, Father of God Christ, and Father of every creature worthy of HIM. Our brothers who died before God the Creator will once again be reprobated before HIM, and will be returned again to their captors. In my mere opinion, the necessary uncertainty of this test is overcome with Prayer, the Holy Rosary facilitates and shortens the times, and Holy decisions under the Commandments of those who decide as children of God the Creator He who loves objective facts and their rigorous analysis of the results, who makes that Prayer and those Holy decisions tested for a certain time, and then, draws his conclusions and continues Living in them
May God the Creator forgive us one day for being so unworthy of His Living Heart. May God Christ forgive us one day for being so unworthy of the One who sends Him, our Eternal Creator May God the Holy Spirit forgive us one day for being broken vessels unworthy of housing Him in our hearts. Let us implore the Holy Trinity, that in spite of ourselves, we only kneel before Them the Living Love of God the Son, is Holy Mary, the Holy among the Holy Make this world better, Christianize this world, I think it is a noble and worthy decision to be lived. The dead beast longs for idolatry, and tempts us at any time and place through his slave army, for such an infamous death. Pride is the death of every creature, which destroys the infected, and infects the one who imitates its infamy.
What is the question? The question is, what is the context. The answer is, the context is that this is a wedding, a marriage. The next question is, who is in Authority. The answer is, Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom, and is in full Authority. What kind of wedding is it? What kind of marriage is it? It is a covenant wedding. It is a covenant marriage. Therefore the Laws set forth by the Bridegroom are in full effect and completely applicable. There is no substitute, no other purpose.
maybe the synod will give someone an good idea on how to repair the financial woes of the Vatican's pension plan without tapping into worker's resources
This is beyond chaotic. You're going to lose all support, starting with finances. We are losing adherents and not gaining, and of those in Africa, there are severe problems with Pologomy that are glossed over. If those numbers don't speak to you, the lack of finance will.
Sorry, hard to take anything seriously at which fr James Martin was considered worthy of invite. I’m trying to be less cynical but that man just espouses heresy and gets a prime invite to this??
The question of the ordination does NOT remain open. It cannot happen. Saint Pope John Paul II closed the door on it (or made everyone realize it had already been closed). To continue dialogue on this issue is not healthy, and will lead to false hope and future betrayal.
This "synod" was in all things not a synod of bishops, which are the only binding Episcopal meetings in the church. The presence of non bishops at the synod is scandalous. Holy mother help us. Egalitarianism is fundamentaly opposed to the message of Christ.
You do realize, do you not, that the Church has had *Ecumenical Councils* which were called by layman and in which laymen had a KEY role to play in directing the decisions of these Councils?
@WinstonSmithGPT It's amazing how self-proclaimed "traditionalists" (pseudo-traditionalists) actually know so very little about ACTUAL Church tradition and history, isn't it?! It's not unlike how self-proclaimed "Bible-believing" Protestants actually know very little about the TRUE meaning of the Bible!
The Church is listening for what i am sorry if you are bringing reforms to the teaching of CHRIST, I am sorry catholics are not going to accept we will pray for you but not going to accept the heretics comments coming from the Pope. Pope said all religion leads to GOD I am sorry that's a wrong teaching, blessing same sex couple that is wrong as well, why do you have to explicitly say it wether the same sex couple should be blessed, priest blesses anyone who come to the church, for some one who says I will live in sin and doesn't want to change sorry St Paul's teaching is very clear about this. I am sorry I respect the papacy and pray for the Pope, I will stick with the Magisterium of the church the catechism and the Holy BIBLE word of GOD, I am.not going to listen to anything that comes out of this synod, the Devils smoke has Entered the Church. All Glory, praise and worship only to OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AMEN.
At the end of each Mass a blessing is given to the congregation. There are certainly sexual sinners, I dare say homosexuals, in the congregation getting that blessing. The blessing doesn’t bless their union. Should a moral inventory be done on every person sitting in the church at that time to see if they qualify for the blessing and then they be sent out before the blessing? Of course not. Perhaps that blessing will trigger a change in the sinner to repent and change. There’s no way to be the blessing police nor is that a teaching of the church. At some point you have faith that God knows what he is doing.
@@ereinei There is nothing in common with a homosexual couple coming up to receive a blessing and 50- 300 people receiving a blessing at the end of Mass.
@GoDonaldGO The Church has okayed two sinners in an objectively sinful relationship receiving a blessing for the sake of their receiving an actual grace to leave their sin. This is CHURCH teaching.
Bishop Barron is a powerful person because he has been lifting souls through the word of God. This word BIGOT doesn't harm him, but by throwing things at him that criminal charge. I'm sorry for being smart.
@ereinei Vatican II: the Council that everyone talks about and nobody reads! Wonderful documents produced by VII. In due time, we'll reap its fruits...already are reaping some of them, but more will come in time, I believe.
My father would be 98 years old this year, he was proud of his traditional religion. Myself not so much, seeing what is happening I haven’t got a church near me that is traditional, (3 hours travel). And no thanks, don’t want be part of the new rainbow woke church, ( nam made religion).
Thank you Bishop Barron and Word on Fire for explaining the Synod on Synodality so well, and clearly and faithfully. God bless you all, from New Zealand ❤
A Deliverance Prayer I learn yesterday
By the power of the Precious Blood, by the Name of Jesus and by the intercession of Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, St. Michael the Archangel, all Holy Angels and Saints. I command the demon of (state the problem youre having) to stop afflicting me, my ancestor, my family, my cherished loved ones, my descendants, and all members of the Catholic Church, and go to the foot of the cross to receive your sentence.

You are ignorant. There are a lot of Americans who live in the Philippines and have freedom. You need to study more and do your work.
they agree 2 synod..........amazing!
Thank you Bishop. For giving us an overview of the Synod.
Oh , the church confounds me in so many ways , always has , and I think ,will continue to do so . My eyes , heart , are set on Christ .
Loving my triple B , thanks .
What
I really like this in-person sit down way of Bishop B sharing his experiences..Feels more personal than the zoom style way of communicating.
When did Catholic deny Science? And if so how comes almost all pioneers of science were Catholics?
@@albertbeaulac5700which members of the Church were anti science? And where do you get this idea?
@@johnosumba1980 from the post I was responding to.
@johnosumba1980 agreed, the catholic church is absolutely not anti science.
I would LOVE for the church to provide places and events for people to meet... especially young people of the faith who would like to make friends or meet a future spouse.
You are the church so go for it!
We need Bishop Barron at the next Synod, the one after that, and each of them, health permitting and God willing! The Catholic Church needs him as an active and engaged champion. The Germans are trying to destroy the Chuch!
And pray for holy Popes, Cardinals, Bishops🙏🙏🙏
OR, and maybe I'm reaching here, you are wrong and the Bishop knows better than you
There are plenty of othet churches that have female pastors so these women may need to look at joining one of those instead of trying to change the catholic church. As a woman, i do not want female deacons or priests.
May I ask why not?
It is not about what we want. it is about the way Jesus went about doing things. 12 apostles all male. This is the way
I would argue they need not leave the Catholic Church which is the true church but to soften their heart to Gods truth, and not be so stuck on what they want
@@marymeehan2580because a woman can’t be a father, as simple as that.
Etc. )
I think it speaks highly of the Church that there is such a high emphasis on listening and thinking
Yes, certainly✨⭐
Dont be taken in. This church only listens to progressive voices. It does not listen to the majority of young catholics who want their authentic Catholicism back.
The Synod is stacked with woke radicals. And PF handing power to these same.revolutionaries going forward. Clergy who simply want to be traditional are suppressed and imprisoned in a modernist hell, or worse, excommmunicated for daring to follow the practices and belief of 2000 years of Catholicicsm. Is it still the Catholic church?
A babel of modernism that will ultimately collapse the church in the West.
*Bishop Barron:* Synodality is a mode of organizing Church Life, where consultation, accountability and transparency are at the centre of our preoccupation.
if the synod is the hope of the new church ...we are all in for massive disappointment ......BB - Im synod OUT!
About time, I say
@@andrew-c1y9bwhat disappointment?
@@blessedvirginmaryisqueen8448Is deaconess the Order of widows that St Paul talked about?
The Bishps are only men
Ever been to a wedding?
Pray for Luke and Jackies conversion please 🙏🙏🙏👨🎓
Peace.

The Magisterium is the official teaching authority of the Church, constituted by the Pope and the Bishops in union with him, not the Pope alone. A document has now been declared as Magisterial with the inclusion of lay people, some of whom express heretical views on settled doctrine.
From the Dogmatic Constitution of the First Vatican Council: Pastor Aeternus:
"For the Holy Spirit was not promised to the successors of Peter that by His revelation they might make known new doctrine, but that by His assistance they might inviolably keep and faithfully expound the Revelation, the Deposit of Faith, delivered through the Apostles"
When Peter decided to walk away from God's plan̈ of salvation, Peter was rebuked by Jesus with the words: "get behind me Satan".

May He who takes away the sin of this world, see us calm down, reflect, be Humble, objectively and sincerely analyze our decisions, and see us repent, thus, perhaps He will be able to have Mercy on us.

Is the Church Teaching on the NARROW ROAD still RELEVANT?
I would like to comment In reference to the callers question
I have been in several different parishes through my life (total of 5) in the Philadelphia area
I have found them not equipped to do what the Church is asking
To go out and evangelize
They were and are the ones I was directly involved with in various parish groups
but they all lacked in embracing the whole parish as a whole
Each group in the parish all act separately
And are unaware
Of who is in the actual
Parish
There is no
Synergy in these parishes
So I feel
We are not equipped
As a group to go out to others
If we don’t even personal know the people that around us
During Mass
A strong us and them feeling is prevalent
and not wanting
To connect with each other
So how can we connect with the outside world
Thx you
Depending on what we call and consider a King, we will value some decisions or others, both in others and those that emanate from ourselves
In my opinion, a King is a spiritual King like David was when he was the little brother who looked after the sheep, and was the only one to defend God the Creator against Goliath, the warrior of the Canaanite peoples and their false gods, who had the entire Israelite army in anguish, and no one wanted to confront him. The only Brave and Humble was that shepherd boy, King in the eyes of his Most High Father, our eternal Creator
an earthly king is one who is caught up in power struggles, infamies of corruption and lust, a puppet of the dead beast, a withered one to decide Holyly, is one who only boasts in a fictitious power, of very short duration and bitter regret, corrupted by being incapable of displaying power without dying spiritually for his infamous decisions
in what we have each decided that is a King, or is a king, so we will also pay more attention and applaud internally what emanates from each one of them
better to decide in Good, deciding in the Commandments of those who become and are children of God the Creator, than to die in infamous decisions, which open our soul to sin, and ravage that house in which they enter, until making it succumb
those who have decided, in our arrogance, trying to be or to be subjects of God Christ, Son of the eternal Most High, King among all the royal Holiness of the creatures deserving of being Filial in the little son of God the Creator, let us seek to create in this brevity the Kingdom that our Savior promised us, as a logical consequence of the Holy decisions, of which HE takes care every day until the end of this world.
I don't understand why female deaconate is needed when we have nuns
You are not part of it.
@ceciliadreger6319 what do you mean?
@RJ-yi1fi you are not qualified for trade. You're sick.
I agree.
I work at a catholic hospital and nuns come up to the floor I work on. I LOVE seeing the nuns. They're always amazing people!
Did you talk about Jesus at all?
funny
Did you not hear those parts about them praying a lot and bringing Christ to the world??? Why would you even question this?? Seems like an uncharitable suspicion (a suspicion that Jesus would not approve).
@andrew-c1y9b Yes, it's funny that one would question this since the good bishop mentioned a number of times their invocation of Christ and preaching of Christ... and why would this be questioned in the first place? Unless one holds uncharitable, Pharisaical suspicions contrary to the very teachings of Christ Himself....
It's a valid question.
@@DoNotDisturb116 No, it's not. First, His Excellency already answered the question in the affirmative. Secondly, it's Pharisaical and condescending to even ask it.

Here is a little hint - Erin Brockovich - see movie, the year 2000.
Yes, the church is a hospital for sinners but not a psychological affirming therapy program that is about just approval of self

And yes the traditional arm of the church needs to be heard as well
You shoukd know that.
@ know what?
The traditional arm? To reject tradition is to reject the Catholic faith.
@@grantc9012he means the neo protestant wing of the Church lurking as trads

How about a synod on whether Francis is a heretic/antipope or not? What goes around comes around eventually as they say.

You didn't do your work.
@NJWEBER18 I think you are sick. You move in and try to run everyone that you are not supposed to.
@blessedvirginmaryisqueen8448 I think you are sick and ignorant.
Doesn’t sound like there was much scholasticism going on there. Sounds like a lot of talk about nothing happened.
All the staff and administrators have been walked in and walked out at work.
Women already have an ordination, to become nuns, why should this Pope Francis and his friend Fernandez want to give women something similar to deacons but not ordained? Complete nonsense...
We had female deacons in the early church. Never female priests.
Becoming a Nun doesn't involve ordination. It involves a religious profession.
Because we are being slowly tenderized.
What??? Nuns were never ordained !!!
What is the "complete nonsense"?
@@AprilEaster-n1129 i have an aunt who has been ordained ( you want to use the word consecrated? Fine with me ) as a Nun 50 years ago, go and tell her that it is a profession and not a calling from God, and that being taken now in the modern church of Francis to do ( i don't know what is far greater . The same with my cousin Who Is also a Nun.

In my opinion, perhaps the Celestial City in which those already proven worthy of being children of God the Creator live, and with all the impurity of every unworthy spirit discarded, the cursed Babylon destroyed, sunk and put in its place, this earth and universe of matter created, will be inhabited by those who have shown themselves worthy of being children of the Most High, for whom this earth and this universe were created
It seems that the last Christians, or the generation of Christians referred to by Saint John, the disciple Beloved by God Christ, will be tested in the beheading
In my mere opinion, words and signs that we do not see are inscribed in our soul, inscriptions based on Victory and decisive defeat. In the sacrament of sincere Confession, we can restore the purity that our Lord, the Good Shepherd, grants us
In that new time, there is no longer the test or its uncertainty, but the certainty of having behaved, in the decision-making merit, as a soul worthy of our Creator, Father of God Christ, and Father of every creature worthy of HIM.
Our brothers who died before God the Creator will once again be reprobated before HIM, and will be returned again to their captors.
In my mere opinion, the necessary uncertainty of this test is overcome with Prayer, the Holy Rosary facilitates and shortens the times, and Holy decisions under the Commandments of those who decide as children of God the Creator
He who loves objective facts and their rigorous analysis of the results, who makes that Prayer and those Holy decisions tested for a certain time, and then, draws his conclusions and continues Living in them
What’s with all the bitterness in the comments? Do I even want to know?
No, you don't want to know! Ignore them! Just trust the Church. God bless...
May God the Creator forgive us one day for being so unworthy of His Living Heart.
May God Christ forgive us one day for being so unworthy of the One who sends Him, our Eternal Creator
May God the Holy Spirit forgive us one day for being broken vessels unworthy of housing Him in our hearts.
Let us implore the Holy Trinity, that in spite of ourselves, we only kneel before Them
the Living Love of God the Son, is Holy Mary, the Holy among the Holy
Make this world better, Christianize this world, I think it is a noble and worthy decision to be lived.
The dead beast longs for idolatry, and tempts us at any time and place through his slave army, for such an infamous death.
Pride is the death of every creature, which destroys the infected, and infects the one who imitates its infamy.
Why don't you go away and take your coach with you?
I'm confused.
Bishop Barron we are told o
over and over again that Synodality is not catholic.

That entire travesty should never have been allowed to happen. Having such an evil and rotten pope is really taking the Church into apostasy!
This "synod" was in all things not a synod of bishops, which are the only binding Episcopal meetings in the church. The presence of non bishops at the synod is scandalous. Holy mother help us. Egalitarianism is fundamentaly opposed to the message of Christ.
The laity were not making decisions. That authority is still reserved to the bishops. What is scandalous is publicly denouncing the Magisterium .
You do realize, do you not, that the Church has had *Ecumenical Councils* which were called by layman and in which laymen had a KEY role to play in directing the decisions of these Councils?
Nicea was called by the emperor Constantine. 😂
Hmmm .... if everyone speaks, don't you get cacophony?
listen to Pope francis, but listen to us as well
Did you focus on Jesus? HE is the leader of His Church! God save Your Church!
God Bless🙏♥️
At the end of each Mass a blessing is given to the congregation. There are certainly sexual sinners, I dare say homosexuals, in the congregation getting that blessing. The blessing doesn’t bless their union. Should a moral inventory be done on every person sitting in the church at that time to see if they qualify for the blessing and then they be sent out before the blessing? Of course not. Perhaps that blessing will trigger a change in the sinner to repent and change. There’s no way to be the blessing police nor is that a teaching of the church. At some point you have faith that God knows what he is doing.
Thank you!
These people take themselves far too seriously
How so? It seems like they're having a conversation about something completely appropriate to their work
