    So fucking weird how the universe works. You’re the dude who got me into the gym and since 2 years ago I’ve built a respectable physique that I’m proud of. 4 months ago I dislocated my shoulder and it’s been some of the hardest times on mentally being out of the gym. I literally TODAY just got the green light to start working out again. Life is crazy

    By no means are you skinny again man. Sure, you may feel like it, but I agree with everyone that already said it, muscle memory is a lifesaver. You will gain it back at twice the speed it took you the first time.

      That's why i workout for 9 years or so. But if someone would be seriously working out 5 days a week they could probably get the same results in 3 or 4 years. Because if everytime you stop, it drops insanely fast and you have to make up for it after. It does go a bit quicker up again once you have been doing a certain weight but it still takes a lot of time to get back to old levels everytime you stop more then 2 months. But it's part of the journey. As soon as it feels like you have to force yourself to go to the gym everytime, it's just done for a while

    As a skinny guy myself who’s now 38 it’s honestly so hard to keep the gains we make. If I slack off just a little bit with my eating or lifting they disappear. I lifted like a meathead in my military days and actually put some decent size on but now in my late 30s I don’t lift crazy like that anymore more to just maintain and stay fit and I stay 6’ 180 lbs no matter what.. if I slack I can drop to 175 then get back on track and stay at 180 or 185 max. It’s not easy and gear isn’t the answer I’d rather be healthy and not fighting that urge the rest of my life. Keep your head up and working hard us skinny folks aren’t supposed to be built like Dorian yates unfortunately lol.

      This is really weird. Most people can maintain the gains they made even if they are doing way less lifting. Are you also noticing that you have a less muscular look or is it only the weight difference. When you go from 175 to 185 at least 90% of that is not muscle. That's just not how it works. I weigh myself every day and often have 4 pound differences from day to day. I'm not losing or gaining any muscle in 24 hours. It's just more or less water and glycogen in the body.

    • @steviejrr
      @steviejrr 7 месяцев назад +4

      It's really not, it's 10x harder to build muscle than to maintain it, you can work out 3x a week and keep the same physique. He lost all his gains because he came off a cycle and didn't PCT properly and most likely it got to him mentally so he stopped going to the gym which is common after a cycle.

    So fitting how many of these videos are coming out. A lot to digest. Everyone is going to go through this at some point. But you have to realise that it’s a phase & whatever you’re going through you will come out of it. I think perceptions have become extremely skewed on what’s accepted & what’s not. There’s no reason to look jacked all the time, it’s ok just to enjoy life also & work on becoming a better version of yourself mentally. I recently went through something similar & I had very dark thoughts about how to get big again or if I could even accept myself anymore, but bodybuilding is not the be all end all of your life. Dig deep down & find it within yourself to keep the motivation up & become a better version of yourself.
    I hope if you’re going through something similar that you’re doing ok & it always ok to reach out for help, hell ill even listen, the head can be a very dark & lonely place sometimes.

    Good video! I really liked the editing.
    Here a tip, I think training 6 days a week doing 8 exersices to failure is a bit too much for bodybuilding. It may be better to remove one of the training days and preform a upper body instead of the push and pull. Maybe also making the workout smaller cuz training 3 chest exercises and then doing shoulders would probably make you overtrain and you wouldnt get much from most of the sets.
    But do what you think best and keep going mate!

    If nobody is going to say it, I will! This regression in Joes physique is not from slacking off in the gym or not hitting enough sessions. You only require one third of the volume, you needed to build the muscle, to keep it. Someone as obsessed with his appearance as Joe, would never neglect his training that much for such a long period. I wasnt buying it at the time, but a few months ago, when Joe admitedly looked and performed his best, people were saying he joined the dark side and started taking PEDs. This huge regression is so suspicious and out-of-character for Joe, I, at this point, see no other explanation then he took PEDs, went off, lost his gains due to supression and now either is back on or his hormones are recovered enough to make some progress again.

    • @TheSuperdodgy
      @TheSuperdodgy 7 месяцев назад

      That's not huge volume. e.g. 18 sets chest a week is recommended (if he's doing push A&B once a week). Push A I could do in 45-50mins easy. Push B you could prob remove either cable or dumbell raise as they are essentially the same movement. Otherwise that's a tried and tested solid workout split.
      Again you tailor your workout to your body type / weight response. We're all different. He's 6'4" remember so he needs a bit more volume than someone who's 5'5.

    • @RJP18
      @RJP18 7 месяцев назад

      @@TheSuperdodgy why does he need more volume just because he is 6'4? he doesnt, height doesn matter! volume doesnt build muscle high intensity does, look at Mike Mentzer its actually true im doing 1 set of everything with rest pause set, negative sets, holds and supersets and gain 5kg in 3 month and im still rly lean

      training doesnt really differ between each person much only a little. Biggest factor is genetics for deciding maximum potential. Joes physique is definitely acheivable naturally for anyone with mid-good genes.
