every single time someone says high ceilings like it’s something special i just roll
my eyes, like what am i going to do? float? lmao
Yeah they say hi ceilings cuz they want you to feel less claustrophobic because they know they're it costs an arm and a leg to rent one little room with a bathroom it's so narrow.
😂
I busted out laughing at your comment because it’s so true. For a short girl like myself who can’t fly or float, high ceilings don’t mean anything to me. And I certainly would not be paying 4000 a month for it. But for those who would, do you.
Also harder to heat
All that extra air to cool and warm, just not for me. 😂
It sounds dumb, but low ceilings just add a little more stress on top of all the other things going on in Manhattan. My friend just moved to an apartment with low ceilings, sloped floors and ceilings, etc. I'd rather just leave New York at that point lol
I love the way they have convinced people “exposed bricks” is a good thing, it’s exposed because they didn’t bother putting in insulation…
And that it's a decent amount of space lol.
LUKE PEOPLE LOVE THAT LOOK
@@jennifercolamaria4995 I love it too, but on the outside of the building, think of your heating bills 😂
That exposed wall, may or may not have another apartment directly attached behind it.... 🤔
Plus its ugly
Shout out to NY landlords. If you can charge $4k for a sardine can… you’re my hero!
Is it normal to not have windows in Bathrooms in New York??😟
@@gyaniadmi2347 it’s likely safe to assume that they don’t - all the buildings are so tall and have so many units crammed into it, which means there’s not really any way for a bathroom to have a window
@@mbr0916I cant imagine a Bathroom without windows, how do they vent air?
@gyaniadmi2347 hi! 👋
I live in NYC. No, it's not normal, BUT if the bathroom is without a window, a vented air/fan is a requirement. All waste vapors need to vented. One piece of advice, I would ask the landlord to show me the "certificate of occupancy". This will PROVE it is a legal/safe apartment to rent. The C. of O. comes from the city proving this is in compliance and is a safe apartment to rent. MANY vulture landlords will rent illegal apartments and get away with it. Look for an emergency egress. Window to the fire escape or window to alley way. If not, does this apartment have a 2nd door to the hallway to escape if in case of fire. I would NOT be spending $4,000/month for this 400 sq ft apartment. BTW, 400 sq ft = a 2 car garage. With 14ft ceilings, that's how they got a loft in there. An exaggerated studio space.
Leeches
I'd guess $1.5 million
🤣🤣
That’s what I was thinking
It could be 2.9 million or 2.9 thousand we don't know but you might be right
@@specialforces3056 that’s some Great Depression type of prices lol if it was $2.9 thousand I wouldn’t move there, but even I would buy multiple in a heartbeat. I’d even get my parents to invest into these properties lol. It’s already $4-5k a month so $2.9k isn’t even possible it’s a $1-2 million property. You would be getting a steal of the decade lol $2.9k for a $1+ million place🤣🤣🤣
That's too much dude
If you’re paying 5000 a month in rent you’re getting robbed
And if you have $5000 a month you’re the thief
This is New York City so you’ll get robbed too, this is just rent. 😂

Maybe the average price in Manhattan, surely not in whole NYC.
Average also includes extremely high end places that cost millions to buy and tens of thousands to rent. Median is a better figure to understand the real estate market
No thank you. I pay 1700 a month. My house is huge.
I pay $1270 Canadian Dollars. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main floor along with a kitchen, living room and dining room, a big basement with a bar, laundry room, another bathroom and bedroom, storage and connected garage that we turned into a cigar lounge. We got a steal.

Here in Dallas, $4000 a month will rent you a 3-4 bedroom Suburban house, probably with a pool, and large lot...crazy NYC
Doesn't matter, Dallas ain't NYC!!
@100timessquare I've visited a lot of cities around the world and while I like NYC ( I visit this city once a year) it's not even in my top 10 of cities where I would want to live.
The "sleeping loft" looks like a pizza oven! 🤤
Its like a small top shelf you can't reach in a dark closet
It’s amazing what they are doing with bowling alleys these days.

That price for that tiny amount of space is insane.
I still can’t believe people live like that 🤣🤣🤣
It seems nice..rent is a bit high but it is way bigger than my current apartment so I guess it evens out...being in the middle of manhattan is also something to consider
nah. there's so much room dedicated to the bathroom and kitchen and the bedroom is a loft...
I don't think you know what a studio apartment is. The fact that there's a separate space for your bed is actually a big improvement over the standard studio where the front door hits your bed if you open it more than halfway.
@@ratherb_skating7145 its a big studio priced accordingly... you dont need a mansion sized kitchen in there for one person that eats out most of the time anyway.

@The Entity · You gave me a good laugh😁.
Looks like it would be fun for about 3 days
Right!! This sht is so stupid
That's fine , it's only like what 10 times my rent here in France xD
"decent amount of space"
>The entire apparent is slightly larger than my bedroom
But your apartment is in the middle of nowhere
My kitchen is bigger than that apartment, with 5 bedrooms , double sized walk in closets , 2 bathrooms , 1 acre and it’s less than half the price. It’s a rental.
4k a month for a studio…. nice

You could own a single family home in a great neighborhood and your mortgage would be less than $4,000.00. A mortgage is the way to go.
I knew I recognized that bike. Hello Cash. Hello Eric..... Beautiful studio..... The prices in the city is crazy. I don't know how people afford it 😭😭..... Anyway have a great day......
That's why people are moving to Brooklyn and buy a 3 story building for 1.5 millions dollars with Morgage of 4 0r 5 thousands dollars . Compared in the city a studio for 4 thousands that is just for the rent .

Does the salaries in NYC compensate for the price to own/rent in the city?
Yeah they do in general but YMMV
No, not at all.
For those in the best jobs yes. Especially tech and finance.
Absolutely NOT!
The fact that I was surprised at the price is sad I thought it would be higher lol
Yeah maybe 400 a month but

Shockingly I like this setup. Usually I’m not a fan of what I see advertised in NY.
Such a cute Apartment
That's $48,000 a year. In a lifetime (the youngest renters in America are in their mid-20s and the life expectancy is 75 years), that's around $2.4M.
When Erik Conover shows a more reasonably priced apartment than Cash Jordan. I'm scared.
Whenever they say 14 foot ceilings you know it’ll be pricey
Beautiful, not surprised sadly enough
Way better to use that hi space to create extra flooring for more storage or bedspace. The hight is pretty but wasted area.
I will stay in my small college town in south Louisiana. I love the food. My family is here and it is cheap rent
That is way to much money for something that will never be mine. Its rent not mortgage 💸 totally not worth it. Wow 🤩 NYC rent is out of this world 🌎
So where do the poor people live??
Cause if rent is this high. Who can live there, But the Rich.. Great showing, You did a great a job.
Im from Massachusetts, and many of my friends have this in their home. I think it puts homes with different styles. He used his angled bricks and used the bricks that popped out more and built shelving. I am moving to MO and building a barnaminium.
You’d think they’d put some extra storage shelves/ladder or pull down access for above the kitchen!!!
To me that’s absolutely crazy for five grand a month you could rent like a 10 bedroom five bathroom lake home where I live
Ngl that appartment is beautiful
My $1400, 4/2, lakeside house is finished with flooring and stainless appliances like that.
Nice outdoor space but overall so small. Where is the living room space? I suspect after a bed is added in the loft, it won't seem such a decent amount of space.
Kinda cool but too small
I understand if it were $2500 to $3000, but anything pass that it doesn't make scenes to rent. No wonder people are moving to the other boroughs, New Jersey, or out entirely off of the north east.
Love the idea that the guests can see me taking a shit while they are eating
That's so sickkk
That would be maybe 500 In the netherlands, YOu can get a 2 Bedroom Apartment with kitchen Living room and laundry room for 800 in the netherands

I don't know if people have gone crazy but there ain't no way I pay anything over $1,000 a month for rent. A studio Get real. 4000 is way too expensive for rent
That’s actually lower than I thought it would be. Of course if it was anywhere else it would be about $500-$600/month.

We rent a 3 bedroom house for 1200 a month excluding utilities
14 ft ceilings are great but what is the square footage??
That pretty good price $4,000 that is very good I will pay that for that Apartment you kidding me! Is a good price
If I were rich, that'd be an ideal living space.
If you were rich why wouldn't you at least have a whole bedroom en suite??
These used to be called bedsits and were the last resort for the very poor before becoming homeless. Now you need to earn $80k per year to afford the rent 😱
