Pizza Rules thank you so much for the LOVE! We are so glad you discovered our channel and have been enjoying our videos. We are very lucky to have so many great pizzerias 🍕in our own neighborhood! We hope you get to visit and try some of their pizza once it is safe to do so. Most of the places we highlighted in this video are still open for delivery and take away but on limited hours.
So sorry we didn't respond sooner but just saw this...that is cool that you went there when it was Una Pizza Napoletana. Still using the same great oven...just rebranded the tiles!
Hi Karla, James and Hudson! As much of a foodie as I thought I was, i had never heard or seen Detroit pizza before. What a revelation. Thanks for a great tour!
Pizza reviews on the go ! thank you so much! What pizza 🍕 spot in this video is your favorite? Sadly since we filmed this video a few months ago, Lions & Tigers & Squares closed (due to the Coranvirus shutdown). The other 4 pizzerias are still hanging in there though!
@@JamesandKarla You're welcome, and yes I know! After watching your video I looked up the place on yelp only to find out that they closed. Glad to hear that their other spots are open. I plan on visiting one of them. As for my favorite? Definitely Best Pizza. Best Pizza is one of my top 5 in all of the city. I also enjoyed Sauce recently, though I'm not really big on sourdough crusts.
We do love the signage at Lions, Tigers & Squares too! We filmed at their 23rd St location for our Detroit style pizza video. Love the caramelized cheese edges of Detroit style! So glad it is becoming more popular
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi we absolutely love their signage too and you are so right about those amazing caramelized cheese edges. We are now big fans of Detroit style pizza!
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi yes they have the same signage at their Chelsea shop too! We also loved those carmelized cheese edges! Extra good for sure!
Fred Core thank you so much for the kind words about our videos, neighborhood and all the pizza spots we visited. We especially enjoyed filming this episode as we really love showing everyone the amazing pizza choices we have only footsteps away from our studio.
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi their pizza 🍕 is amazing and yes their Al Pastor slice has truly unique combinations of ingredients. We have also had their upside down slice 🍕and loved it!
We are glad our video brought back good memories of hanging out in the East Village. When you visit again we of course want to get a slice with you snd for Hudson too!
Those pizzas all look sensational, I hope to one day visit NY and experience a few. The artichoke pizza looks interesting, I don’t really like artichoke but I know that would be deelish
FitAussieAngie we are sure you would love trying some of the pizzas we had when you visit NY in the future. The classic cheese slices are the most traditional a NYC style but the artichoke pizza is definitely a great option to try and enjoy as it is rich in taste because of the cream sauce and blends of cheeses 🧀 they use.
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi they certainly have and we have watched them grow as we went to their original East Village shop the very first day they opened. They were even giving free pieces of pizza out as nobody knew what an artichoke pie was back then (in 2008). We are sad to hear that your childhood pizzeria was replaced but at least it stayed a pizza shop not turned into a bank or another soulless place.
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi thank you so much for recommending Serhan’s pizza pop-up! We have met Serhan and definitely plan on attending one (after this health emergency). BTW we hope you guys are staying safe.
There´s no doubt about it, you have to come to Buenos Aires ...you´ll love the traditional and new pizza spots! Pizza and great meat, what can go wrong?. Please Mr Covid, let us travel again to meet new friends and taste extra good food!. Pleeeease!
Christian, we would love to visit Buenos Aires and especially because we know we will have you to help guide us to the best spots to see and food to try. There are some excellent Argentinian food spots in Miami that we have enjoyed too. Have you visited Miami? There is a great vinyl shop in Little Haiti that we featured in our video of that neighborhood. Miami is now being hit hard with the Coronavirus and it is certainly not a good time to visit but we are sure Mr. Covid will eventually disappear and let us all travel again. Thank you so much for watching and commenting as always! Much love from another very hot and humid night in NYC!
James and Karla it’ll be a great honor and pleasure to show you my town. You’ll go back to NYC with a big smile...and a few extra pounds. :) I’m sure you’ll love it down here. You are more than welcome here, anytime. (Did you hear that, Mr Covid?).

Remember going to Una Pizza Napoletana in that space a bunch - it was so good! Glad another great spot took over - we like Motorino’s too!

I love how you give the ingredients for the pizzas! Great food vlog !

Beautiful neighborhood, nice pizzerias ... but the coolest thing about your videos is your enthusiasm! This is really cool!!!!

Always meant to try Sauce. Really intrigued by their al pastor slice. We love a good upside down slice!
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi their pizza 🍕 is amazing and yes their Al Pastor slice has truly unique combinations of ingredients. We have also had their upside down slice 🍕and loved it!
Love this as I remember hanging out in the part of town!

Artichoke’s really has expanded their empire. They replaced my (Greg) childhood pizzeria in Astoria, Frankie’s.
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi they certainly have and we have watched them grow as we went to their original East Village shop the very first day they opened. They were even giving free pieces of pizza out as nobody knew what an artichoke pie was back then (in 2008). If you like Detroit style pizza, you MUST try Serhan’s at one of his pop-ups. He does a phenomenal job
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi thank you so much for recommending Serhan’s pizza pop-up! We have met Serhan and definitely plan on attending one (after this health emergency). BTW we hope you guys are staying safe.
Funny how we both released videos on great NYC pizza within hours of each other! Clearly on the same wavelength 😁
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi yes we are definitely on the same pizza 🍕 wavelength! It is always good to have cheesy pizza 🍕 for comfort food!
I Love Hudson 💘
