You did a good job covering all three versions while going into complex detail yet still was precise and to the point on what you should get based on your usage intentions. And within six minutes! Great job.
I think the Apple Pencil USB-C is for students so if you’re a student who hasn’t gotten an iPad yet then you can get this if you don’t need any artist features on the Apple Pencil 2. I think that LAUSD should get iPad 10th gens with 256GB with the Apple Pencil USB-C as they’re the most affordable electronics overall. Cuz with 256GB you get the ability to take tons of photos and do drawings + screen recordings of them for RUclips purposes, on top of that it will help students who get their personal devices taken away cuz then they have a backup to use when their personal devices aren’t around so you can record a freeway driving video you failed to record on the day planned
"It's only 79 dollars " i totally understand what you mean lol but i still find it funny that we're calling $79 cheap when it comes to Apple products. You can get a third party apple pencil that looks identical and has the same features ( if not more) for a fraction of that price. The Apple pencil C doesn't have pressure sensitivity and doesn't charge magnetically anf has no double tap so almost any other stylus is superior and cheaper imo. It doesn't even make sense as a replacement for apple pencil 1
It’s not necessarily a replacement for any of the two previous Apple Pencils at all! I chat about that in this video. I agree there are cheaper options out there, but my experience has always been best with an Apple Pencil (when using Procreate or other digital art apps specifically but for note-taking a cheap stylus would suffice)!
I’ve never had luck with a knockoff, the cursor is always off 😢
the apple pencil in my country is x3.5 the original usd/euro price
I was tired of sharing one pencil between my Pro and Mini, so I got a Logitech Crayon. I love it and actually prefer it for writing. If the USB pencil had been available, I would have picked that instead. I like it as that second option.
My question is, if you use a USBC to Lightning cable with Apple Pencil USBC, will it work with Lightning port iPads?
I believe next year Apple will probably drop the iPad 9 and Apple Pencil 1 from the lineup for sure it would definitely streamline options and make it simpler to choose what you need!
I don’t know, the new Apple Pencil is just an upgraded version of the gen 1. The gen 2 Apple Pencil was perfect already
I wouldn't necessarily say usb-c is an upgraded version of gen 1. USB-C also wasn't meant to compete with the 2nd gen. It's just a different pencil in the lineup!
it can't be an upgrade bc it literally has no pressure sensitivity, basically more of a downgrade
@@KDigitalStudio I do see your point, but to many, it’s a unnecessary addition to the lineup, but I do see people buying it for the price and for the experience if they are not really going to use it. As a person who uses it regularly, I would choose the gen 2, I prefer the automatic charging while it attaches to the iPad
I presume we’ll eventually end up with just this Apple Pencil and an Apple Pencil Pro that supersedes the Apple Pencil 2.
Apple pencil usb-c works with iPad 10th gen?
I bought an open box 2nd generation apple pencil for 89 bucks so at 79 bucks, this new one really doesnt seem like a good value.
Not saying it is or isn’t. Just stating what the retail price is.
I do not need more cables etc to drag along when traveling. Some people might find it doable, but why do you want to add cables when you can just put the pencil on the iPad. I have a case that holds my pencil in place so it does not go flying when on the go. Is Apple going backward with the technology now? Do not see the logic in this kind of pencil but hey, who am I to say.
Well, this is a better way to explain to people instead.
| iPad Model | USB-C | 1st Gen | 2nd Gen |
|-----------------------------------|------------|--------------|---------------|
| (6th - 10th Gen) | | X | |
| Air (3rd Gen) | | X | |
| Air (4th & 5th Gen) | X | | X |
| Pro 11" (1st Gen+) | X | | X |
| Pro 12.9" (3rd Gen+) | X | | X |
| mini (5th Gen) | | X | |
| mini (6th Gen) | X | | X |
You are welcome :)

Also, great video!
Thanks for this! I just watched your short about the apple pencil not being charged and that is a problem I have been noticing with mine recently, even when it's been magnetically attached for many hours. Makes me wonder if the battery is starting to die. So far, I've still been able to get it charged, but it made me curious about the usb-c version for a cheaper option. Like you said though, I don't know how hard it would be to go from 2nd generation to the USB-C.
Thank you for explaining! It’s confusing to figure it out.
I had the Apple Pencil 2. What apple doesn’t tell you is that the pencil can fail to charge when using the iPad to charge. There is no other way to charge the pencil. So after two years the pencil died, failed to charge, failed to connect and when taken to the Apple Store all they could say was that nothing was wrong with the connection and if I wanted to replace it would be half price. To loose £150 on a product because it doesn’t charge anymore is bad. This is why I brought the new Apple Pencil. I have a lot of electrical devices which when plugged in and charge still work. Even after having them for years.
You can’t check when your pencil is charging, don’t assume oh I charge my iPad my pencil should surely be charged too? No. I feel like this should be a warning to people who fork out for the Apple Pencil 2.
I have a ninth generation iPad so with the lighting port, if I were to buy an Apple Pencil USB-C can I connect it to the iPad using the iPad charger cable? the cable has 2 ports, a lighting (which goes into the ipad) and a usb-c (the one that goes directly into the charger). If I were to use that cable would I have any problems or incompatibilities between the pen and the iPad?
I can test it out, but I would be genuinely surprised if it worked. It states that this pencil is only compatible with 10th gen and up, so even if it plugs in, it’s unlikely to pair.
@@KDigitalStudio pls do the test and let me Know, it’s very important for me. Thank you
Guys is pressure sensitivity worth it?I wanna draw and the gen1 is selling for $80 new on Walmart. I want the flat edge of the usbc and I heard pairing is complicated on the gen 1 so idk what to get
It would depend on what model iPad you have. Not all Apple Pencils are compatible with the same iPads as mentioned in the video.
@@KDigitalStudio I have IPad 10th gen
IT IS!!! I have the first gen with pressure sensitivity and i LOVE IT and i use it all the time, you’ll be pretty reliant on the pressure sensitivity when drawing lol
Thanks haha I was wondering about that too bc I draw and was wondering on whether to get the Apple Pencil 1 or USB-C for my iPad 10 gen. Like is pressure sensitivity worth the extra $$? And now I know! Yes.
At that pricepoint, goojodoq or logitec can be much better option rather than buying apple pencil usb c, because even with goojodoq’s pencil which far below the apple usb c pencil price point; they are already able to be charged wirelesly on the ipad. While both are equally doesnt have any pressure sensitivity, you will still got more features from goojodoq’s pencil rather than apple pencil usb c.
I personally use both apple pen gen 2 and goojodoq’s pencil, and i can safely say, apple pencil usb isnt worth to buy since it possessed identical if not less feature than many 3rd party pencil that have more features, with far cheaper pricepoint.
Hii Guys Apple Pencil USb-C Can use with apple ipad 9?
what is the battery life like for the gen 2 and usb-c pencils?
Great video! Which pencil did you suggest for the iPad mini 6 generation?
I have iPad generation 9 . I updated the software to 17. It still isn’t working. I’m I using the wrong charger ???
Which pencil are you using? (If you’re still having the same problem)
Hey! Where can I buy an Apple Pencil generation 1?
Apple’s website! I also frequently like getting tech at BestBuy too with open box deals
Can I use the new usbc Apple Pencil with an older iPad 8th gen ?
I dont think so since the 8th gen has lightning, but maybe the adapter can do it i’m not sure
very good video
Thank you!
