A lot of artists I've seen say that the tools don't matter and that is the artists skill that matters but I think these are an exception
It's truer to say no materials are impossible to work with. Except bad brushes. A piece of old stick is better than a bad paint brush. It's about value for money. If you're broke dollar store paint won't stop you being creative.
Someone once said something that I think is very true.
"Better tools make better art, but they don't make a better artist."

Dustin M I mean it's the same for makeup. If you have a foundation that makes your face look greasy and brings out your pores, no matter how well you can apply makeup your face will be fucked lmao. Just check "face full of makeup I hate" videos you'll see for yourself
Better quality equipment can definitely help accentuate the artist's skill. For example a cheap pencil that basically needs to be murdered to transfer even the slightest colour would not be helpful to neither the beginner or the professional. However buying the most expensive pencil when a slightly cheaper but equally good quality is kind of a waste. Like it is a choice in the end but

It depends. I use the crappy watercolors and a pen I found in the ground. Looks ok.

I actually use the color pencils you ordered 😂 I don’t know what you bought but I got the highly pigmented ones 😄 they show up great. I only have a couple of high end pencils and honestly they weren’t that different if you ask me 🤷🏾♀️

I think the Reeves pad is knock off, I have the A4 and A3 sized, though I prefer Canson, the paper is thick, textured and slightly yellow, looks totally different from what you ordered

A few of Reeves products are good, they're pretty cheap in the UK so if I can't afford to get my usual brand (Winsor and Newton) I go with them, but their paper has never appealed to me, and I usually use brushes by Royal & Langnickel (the first sketchpad brand) and they're pretty good, too, since they're cheap at my local art store

I have the 48 piece set of Leisure Arts colored pencil set.
I colored a full sized page design, and it's not bad. I haven't done any shading, just straight to burnishing. They are a hard pencil, and you've got to seal it immediately. (Spray fixative)
They are good at the tiny detail, only because they keep their points. They aren't my go to set by all means, but I'm coloring an entire book using a different set of colored pencils per page. It's a GOOD way to have a full sample of their colors, plus I will have a completed book! At least there is an upside to this self-imposed torture. You can sure tell which pages have the better quality pencils!

So quick statement.
So I love trying paints so my favorite stores to buy these paints are ross the art boss and this new store 5 below. I've tried watercolor from ross for four dollars and they're actually pretty good ( bye my standard) and gouache from 5 below for 4 bucks again, none the less they were also pretty good.
Ross also has sketchbooks from what I know. I'm not sure if you've done a video like this but maybe you could do a ross art haul?
