17:50 I want to add that yes in the 15th century yes the baltic prussians have gone extinct, but till 1945 the prussian germans living there, they had their own prussian dialect which was a strong one with lower german and baltic prussian influences. Also there where living the curonian people which where talking a baltic language (it has similarities with latvian). They where living on (curonian and vistula) spits and between them on the baltic coast.
Thank you! I am working through the Federal Subjects alphabetically, so the Rostov Oblast will be a little later down the line...the Republic of Kalmykia is up next!
@@allaboutrussia2022 can u do one of vladivostok or do a list of territories of russia that belong to different countries like kaliningrad germany ect.
@@robertoperez3714 Absolutely, I plan to cover Vladivostok (and the Priamurksy Krai) in a future video. As for land that belonged to others, it's a bit of long topic!
Yeah I watched it and it made me very curious about those people but there are not a lot of information about them. Do you know where could I find some ?🙂

It's a good jumping off point but if I find anything substantial I will update this comment

Fascinating! I knew there were of course regional dialects in Germany, never really considered Prussian as one.Hope you liked the video!

Not sure if it's on my end but the video isn't loading for some reason. Tried one of your other videos and it played immediately.

Weird! Maybe you were TOO early to the video. Have you tried watching it now? Issue (whatever is was) seems resolved.

Kaliningrad isnt that big like that area you marked in red, you marked the city and the Guryevsk District!
Greater Kaliningrad :D
No you're absolutely right I've merged two areas there - apologies!
i like
I'm glad!
Kaliningrad should be its own separate country
Definitely a view shared by some people!
Kalinin was a war criminal and the proper name for the city is Kralovec
Opravit!
For your information kaliningrad was part of prusia then germany and later annex by the soviet union at the end of ww2.
Correct!

Wonderful and instructive video ! Do you think you could make one about the Tofalar people ?
Absolutely, I mentioned them briefly in the Irkutsk video but plan to do one on them themselves at a later point.
