As a preschool teacher I have often heard the phrase, “ nothing you do for children is ever wasted.” There are so many incredible words to describe your family but I feel like that quote is especially true for you and your family. My kitchen counters and refrigerator are cleaner and more organized than they've ever been and I think I discovered your channel less than 2 weeks ago. I know I'm as guilty as every other mom of thinking I'm ok doing without, and maybe we are ok overall, but we all deserve the same love and attention to ourselves that we're showing to our family and everyone around us. 🥰🥰🥰
I would definitely build a laundry room at home with multiple washers and dryers or even invest in one or two of the commercial ones and have the kids switch out doing laundry. Save so much money in the long run.
Teenagers are useful to at least fold their portion.

Hello, As a laundromat owner can I give you a piece of money and time saving advice. You are under loading the dryers. You should fill them up half way up the door. Under loading and over loading will cost you more money and time. The same goes for washing machines you should leave a fist amount of space from the top of the cloths to the top of the drum. You want that space for the water and cloths wash best when fabrics rub against each other and there is room for the water to push through the fabric. I love the channel and look forward to your videos.
This advice for the dryers is only true if the temperature is set high enough to actually fry the clothes. I know this because my in laws own a laundry mat also and if you don’t have the temp high it won’t dry. Plus they dry faster if there is less clothes in the dryer.
@@rose281396 I'm sorry that information is incorrect. First if dryers are frying clothing they are broken and are safety issue. A dryers job is not to cook clothing. Factory temps are set for a reason. For clothing to dry at their fastest and safest way is when the dryer is running clothing must be spaced out equally as it tumbles in the drum. Hot air is being pushed from the back to the front of the drum. then it pushes its self through the clothing. the clothing that touches the hot wall of the drum also dries the clothing as the heat permeates the clothing from the other side. Under loading the dryer the hot air does hold well in the excess empty space. Over loading the dryer does not allow the hot to move at all. A happy medium must be achieved.
A laundry worker told me the same n it works so much faster for drying too ,

When i was a camp counselor, the easiest way they did laundry i think would benefit your load! Just get each kiddo a laundry bag, put their name on it, then collect the bags, wash the clothes in that bag, put it back in the bag after clean and give it back to the kiddo to unpack and put away! 🥰

I usually hate family channels because I dont like kids being forced on camera etc, but yours is refreshing because it's mostly focused on YOU being a mother of 14 with the occasional filming of the kids, but they actually look like they want to be on camera.

If I had 12 kids, I'd do this by myself too. Probably feels like a vacation🤣🤣🤣 It's probably her only time to breathe and think. We love our babies. They are true blessings. But momma still needs time.
I have two kids, and when I had one and got a chance to go to the grocery store alone I would let other people in front of me.

I think possibly bringing one of the big boys along to help load/unload might be helpful but I also understand wanting to do it alone.
I have a working washer and dryer and feel like I should use a laundromat just to get some peace lol
I only have 3 kids, but we homeschool. Which means my kids are with me 24/7.
I can assure you bringing your kids with you to run errands is insanely difficult. I always joke that it’s the hardest part of homeschooling! 🤷🏻♀️
I don’t blame her choice to do them alone. If I had that option , I would do it too.
I live in upstate New York, i actually love using the laundry mat. In 2 hours a weeks worth of laundry is completed, sorted, and folded, to put away at home. Thankfully loads cost me $1.75 to wash and .75 to dry for a total of $10 for every 4 loads, in regular machines. We also have the double loaders, triple loaders and 2 super sized washers that hold up to 6 loads of bedding at once. Those machines cost $8-10 each load depending on light to heavy dirt. Although most of our driers hold 1-2 loads, we do have 2 super driers that will hold 6 loads that cost $1 for every 10 minutes, usually drying in them takes 30 - 40 minutes to complete. Now I nowhere near have as many loads as you, but I find it relaxing. I give you much deserved credit doing it all on your own. But here's my point of view, all my kids and grand kids came with me at age 10, learned how to sort, load, wash, dry and fold their own laundry, reason being when they got to college they could do their own in dorms.. and i have to admit my son's and grandsons girlfriend always thanked me for teaching how to do laundry. Not that I've ever asked them to go every week, but it is a life skill thats important to learn. And I will say this, only once did my son come home with a car full of a months dirty laundry, looked at me to do it, I smiled, handed him the detergent, fabric softener, and drier sheets, and told him I'd meet him at the laundry mat. Lmao I did mine, let him do his, we had a good time together, spending time, enjoyed our coffee, but he understood I wasn't his personal drop off point and it was fun talking about his busy college life the whole time.

Aside from the hauling and loading of the car, getting ALL the laundry done at one time is time efficient.

The laundry detergent aisle was very aesthetic with everything pulled to the front of the shelf. Clean and tidy! Wegmans workers have pride in their store.

I LOVED this video! I love all of your videos but this was so fun to watch something a little out of the normal. I honestly struggle the most with doing laundry. I find it so draining and it's just me and my husband. Although I do have enough clothes for a family of 12 🤣. I already thought you were incredible with all you do for you family but seeing you tackle this laundry was insane! You are so organized. Definitely superwoman. You're amazing! And to everyone that has to use a laundromat: you are amazing too. Major respect. I can't imagine having to travel to do my laundry and spend so much money every time I need to wash or dry something. Very thankful for my washer and dryer. 💕
I remember my parents would bring my 6 siblings and I to the laundry mat and made sure we all folded our laundry and helped my mom. You should bring the the teenagers so they can help you and learn another form or responsibilities.
She says the children do go sometimes, and she explains why they didn’t on this occasion….
my kids hang it out on the line and bring it in. I wish they'd remember to bring it downstairs to the kitchen!
@@bobalinga I loved going to laundrymat as a kid because the owner would bring in donuts every Sunday morning and it was honestly a treat for us. And my dad would give us any left over quarters lol
I'm a mom of 5 and my lausry feels overwhelming! I like the idea of doing it all at once at a laundry mat but having my washer at home is so helpful. We do atleast 2 loads a day to stay caught up. You are so patient and hard working!

Don’t know if you ever thought to have kids put pj’s under their pillows since normally they take showers at night especially during school years. Saves a lot of laundry. Have assigned laundry baskets in each bedroom so when you wash and dry those items get folded they go back to that room. Those few things saved me time when my kids were teens. Enjoy your vacation and stay safe.

Oh my, that's a lot of laundry, I can't believe how much it cost. You really should see if they will wash and fold for you, it would be a big help for you. I know they charge by the pound. But they also fold for you. I loved how the man at the laundromat asked if he could help you. You really are an amazing person to do all the things you do. And no one really realizes how much you do.

@Melissanoelle Alicia is using a laundromat because they have a septic tank issue with their municipality. They're waiting for this to be restored before she can return to using her at home appliances. It's taking some time for several reasons. Hope that helps!
She said once she can't use her washer right now because their septic tank is broken and they are waiting to get hooked up to the city sewer

Ahhhh, it was so close, when I went to the US many years ago we fell in love with Target, we got so much stuff we had to buy another suitcase and pay additional money, we also went to a lovely children clothing shop my youngest was six and we got him enough clothes for home until he was twelve, my eldest son fell in love with Abercrombie for kids and I purchased loads of hoodies from Abercrombie and Fitch! It would go to the US just to visit Target, i can’t fly as I am an amputee and would need business class so until we win the lottery we can’t visit your amazing country! I am always looking out for videos in Target, it is my favourite store, my boys loved it as well. So if anyone goes to there please can you put it online, I love Alicia, such an amazing mum and woman!

Out of high school into college I was a huge laundromat customer… (and used for other reasons through the years) one thing I miss… and I know doesn’t apply to you… when I did laundry at the laundromat, the rest of the world stopped. Since I wasn’t at home, doing other stuff, I could sit and read ( smart phones weren’t a thing ) or just watch my laundry spin… good times- it’s a good Jim croche song- a la - working at the car wash or keeping the dime …
I heard the Petula Clark song playing there and it brought me back, too. Showing my age. I thought maybe she could get some down-time during this all. Nope. Lol. At least she could knock out 15 loads at once and multi task, which would not be possible at home.

Right now I have a portable washer that fits in my bath tub. No dryer. I also have 4 kids. Went to the laundromat twice and laundry piles up quick! You literally just gave me motivation to get all this laundry done!

Yes! I understand the need to stay super streamlined and organized but sometimes I almost feel like she's doing.too much on her own. I mean were only seeing highlights but I'd love.to see.how she implements the olders and am preparing them to transition.on their own
@@Julie-si3hi they have a problem with the septic tank at their house so can’t use much water at home till they get connected to the sewage system.
Cut down on her shopping and pay a laundromat to pick up twice a week to lessen the load, if she can afford it. Or get the older kids to take it twice a week. I know easier said than done.

@@jenfoster128 When my five kids were little the only time I got alone was going to the grocery store. I never even thought of bringing one of my children with me lol. They went everywhere else with me but that was my hour per week alone.
I would’ve had to have at least three of those coffee drinks doing all the laundry you have to do. We are empty-nesters and we cannot believe how much laundry it’s just for my husband and I. Sending hugs, love, prayers and kindness👍🏼🙏🏼❤️🤗

I love watching your videos. So me & my fiancé just got our first place together around 6 months ago it’s an apartment us on the bottom & another family up top but anyways I have a mini washer & dryer I have to dump water into it then I have to drain it when it’s done so after that I have a bucket to catch it so I have to dump that as well. The dryer don’t dry all it does is take some water out of it so I hang it all up. I’m definitely amazed with what you do because I also need to go to the laundry mat to wash my two big blankets & I don’t even wanna do that. But thank you so much for sharing.
When you do get hooked up to the sewer, you gonna need 2 sets of washer/dryers or get you some of those huge ones like at the laundromat.
You should do a budget challenge for a week!! It will be sooo interesting to watch. Or you can do a pantry challenge: only eat from your pantry for a week

Wow! I mean Wow! I thought going to the laundry mat when all four of our boys were home was a lot of work, but 6 people compared to 14 is nothing! Of course you’re sweating buckets, you just lugged and lifted how many pounds of laundry. No wonder you’re in such good shape! Hats off to you. Now I’m kinda new here so I probably missed it, but I’m praying you get a washer and dryer soon. Then you won’t have to load, unload, load and unload laundry several times a week.

I have been doing laundry since I was nine at the laundry mat because my mom was busy working and when she had days off it made it easier on her so she didn’t have to wash or clean the house . So I think leaving the teens in the laundry mat to change the machines to dry the clothes while you run errands is a good idea.

We have 4 people and I do one load of laundry every day. Occasionally 2. You are so hardworking and laundry for 14 people is a lot of work. I am thinking installing 2 washers and dryers in your basement would pay for itself very quickly at this rate.

When I watch your videos it rlly makes me feel silly for getting annoyed by simple chores and errands.. it is a privilege to do stuff for our kids and it’s a choice to have a good attitude or not. Thanks for reminding me that daily

She said it is quicker to do it on her own without dragging the kids with her to do the errands. She has the kids help unload at home when she's done tho. But I would have at least 1 or 2 of the teenagers help with the laundry 🧺 they sure help to dirty it up tho lol 🤣
she also has said that she doesn’t want to make her kids do chores bc they didn’t ask to be in a big family

You need a few industrial sized laundry bags like the ones they use in hotels for bedding to transport the clothes and a maybe a a wheel cart of some kind to carry the bag. Also a tip I’ve learned for when you realise you haven’t eaten anything is to always have a musli bar or protein bar close by. I put a handful in my bag that I take everywhere and a hidden handful in the glovebox in the car. It helps because if I’m in an overwhelming situation and need a comfort food or don’t have the ability to order food I always have something filling and easy to eat on me ☺️. Anyways you’re an amazing mum and I think that’s awesome 😀.
I cannot imagine coping with that amount of laundry! I thought it was bad enough with 4 adults here. I dry everything outside when I can and use a dehumidifier on the laundry setting- when it's wet outside.
When I had no washer last year I hated going to the laundromat 😩
I'd be " sweating buckets " too if I was doing all that heaving lifting and running around ! 😉 That's quite a work out !

Rae Peronneau, should be a truly amazing experience, look at the prices!! 10.00 a load, with an extra rinse!! And that doesn't count drying!! I suppose the one very good thing is that you get to do all of your laundry at once, not over hours using only one set of machines. But look at the cost!!
@@susanjones4904 you're absolutely right but sometimes time is worth more than money. I don't wanna come of as snobby bc I don't have that much money myself haha, but if I had that much laundry and also other tasks through the day like her I'd rather invest in the comfort of a more relaxed, "luxurious" laundromat and have more time for my family plus less stress. But her family is definitely a crazy exception haha😂(although, if I had the money I'd rather spend it on little things that make my life easier rather than on luxury goods like cars or what not if you know what I mean)

They are not washing at home due to septic tank issues.
She has a washer and dryer. Their septic tank is messed up, and they are waiting to get hooked up to the city's waste system. There is a huge backlog due to COVID and the supply chain.
I come from a large family too. Growing up in Idaho. This is back in the mid 70’s. Me and my older sister used to do them at the laundry mat too. My mom would help some times. She had a full time job too so that’s why I say sometimes. I loved doing laundry back then, just because we don’t have to stay home and put up with my brothers. It took all day to do laundry. Now having my own family I took my kids with me and they all help and much faster. & as they got older they’ve been wanting to do their own laundry. I’m glad they learned.
Fun going on errands with you !! The laundry mat is super inconvenient for you but you carry on and do what you have to do with a good attitude.

Unless you’ve recorded yourself doing all the things, changing angles, editing, uploading, coming up with ideas, you can’t judge anyone. don’t judge a family trying to make ends meet. I realize it’s her job. But it’s one heck of a job to do mentally and physically while caring for 12 kids. And she deserves it. She works hard as heck for it.
She was doing it before she filmed it all. Add filming it on top of everything she does. It’s definitely not something everyone can do. Hence the keyboard trolls judging people who earn an income from social media.

Hi I'm a momma of many also and when I use the laundrette I pop the powder and pay as I put it in the machine's as I've got the last one the first machine is usually ready for the dryer then as I've popped it all in the dryer the first one is usually done ready to fold, hope this helps.
Gain is my go to laundry detergent. Dryer sheets too. Tide makes my family “itchy”. It costs more, but it does the job, and makes your clothes smell good tool.
I always use gain!
