What and miss Chael flexing his arms, hell no
Wasn't an interview chael. He has a podcast and he talks about fights and his division for the first 40 min of every episode. And he does the australian espn stuff. He probably puts himself out there now more than most fighters. Give him credit for taking the bad guy's undisputed advice.
Yes unc great idea, having previously fought at 170 and looking undersized against top middleweights i'm sure jumping up another 20 pounds is a recipe for success.
Chael is crazy stupid. He just talks endlessly and is charismatic, but it’s all drivel
You don't understand fighting do you? I think he understands fighting and his body more then your couch fighting a**
He's not tall for either division but he's thick no diddy and shredded as a mf
@@lospolloshermanos69 I feel you bro but tbh he's still kind of small if you compare him to the last guys he fought and that's at middleweight. Dricus was way bigger, Costa was way bigger, Khamzat is about the same size but he's also fought at 170. If he were to fight Borralho next he would be smaller aswell. Imagine him fighting like 80 inch reach 6,4 230 - 235 pounders like Pereira, Hill, Ankalaev, Walker, Jan and Jiri. Bro would look tiny.
That can't be true. Rockhold lost all confidence in himself after getting chinned by bisoing. He got kod like every fight after that. He also quit taking his career serious after losing the title.
Rob use to fight at 170 idk if he’s big enough for 205
If he doesn't cut then what is his normal weight?
@@SAM-ru4vx for my assumption cause I don’t think he’s ever disclosed that information I’d say 215 max probably closer to 207-210.
May he forever rest in peace but Anthony Rumble Johnson also fought at WW and fought at both light heavyweight and heavyweight
He isn’t lol
@@KaotikPhoenix85-20 rumble was huge compared to rob though.he walked at 220 while fighting at 170
Whittaker vs rountree could be nuts
They can actually book that fight right now ! Rountree and Rakic are currently without appointments
I agree but rountree is likely way too big. If ddp can drop Rob i dont wanna see what rountree does to him
Roundtree kills him
@@3figyRountree has literally been submitted by dudes like Pedro chill
@@lospolloshermanos69I don't think that was the same Rob in that fight. He was good in the first round then he got some reason he looked done and DDP just ran through him.
“Statistically speaking” 😂😂😂
Chael clearly did not study statistics
he turns the cam on weekly at the mmarcade podcast HIS PODCAST
Whittaker Vs Jiri would be a fun match up
Two of my favorites
He's so cool and fascinating, they put him into a video game called The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. Rob is the bee's knees 🤣🤣🤣
amod
No one that has a job knows what your talking about
Hes a blown up 170 guy.
He’s the ideal MW, 185 is like the perfect weight for rob
Alex Pereira and DDP fought at 170 when they were young and Rob was very young when he fought at Welterweight...he passed me on the street in gold coast recently and he is a seriously thick looking dude -- a lot more than you would think looking at him on TV.
Robert Whittaker is 5" 11"", has a 73-inch reach, and is smaller than many middleweights. In comparison, The light heavyweights are huge in size and reach. What on earth are you talking about Chael!?
@@richardchamoun7649 DC is shorter with the same reach. What on earth are you talking about Dick?
True
its happening according to Whittaker
Jiri VS Whitaker! Hill VS Whitaker!....so many good fights for him at 205 💯
He used to compete at welterweight and is undersized at middleweight. No, competing at light heavyweight will never be a good idea for him and yes size does matter in fighting.
But 205 only have one descent wrestler which Ankalaev. And even him I would probably favor Rob in. I think stylistically he matches up very good against the 205ers
This popped up on my phone as Chael loves Robert…
I was like WT🌈 F is going on here???
01:24
My man lmao 🤣😂
People at lhw are all around 6’4 now, considering he is a ww sized fighter i think he would massively struggle at that weight class
Whittaker vs Anthony Smith is a war crime of matchup suggestion 😂
He should definitely have atleast one fight at 205 before he retires he said he will come back in June so he'll have to fight the winner or brendan vs Anothy Hernandez or Caio Borralho which is probably the most deserving guy
Thank you, bad guy uncle chael for the show. You’re amazing at what you do brother. Thank you, and appreciate what you do. Very interesting and intelligent insight. Love and respect to you and thank you brother 🙏🏼❤️👍🏼🍻🫵🏼🔥
Don’t let this distract from the fact that LucasTracyMMA fell off
He never shouldve taken that time off tbh
Just doing gurus shtick with a slight twist. Don’t miss em
Vacay in peaches and creamville just to come back with a hat and a hair transplant
Whittaker at 205 would end up even worse than Rockhold did.
The 205 division is so shit though
@feitan5052 Really it's only marginally more shit than Middleweight.
@@Kancerru I guess but middleweight is trending upwards..
DDP is legit
Khamzat is a demon and guys like Caio/Imavov are tough
Robert could find more success at 205
In the heart of Las Vegas, under the bright lights of the T-Mobile Arena, the anticipation in the air crackled like electricity. Fans from all corners of the globe had gathered, wearing jerseys and holding signs that read "The Greatest Match of All Time." The year was 2025, and the spectacle everyone had been waiting for was finally here: Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva, a showdown that promised fireworks.
As the crowd roared, the atmosphere was palpable with excitement. Memories of their last encounter echoed in the minds of many, a fierce battle that had gone down in history. Chael, known for his relentless wrestling and charismatic trash talk, had an edge in technique, while Wanderlei, the fierce striker with a reputation for devastating knockouts, brought an intensity that could ignite the canvas itself.
The lights dimmed, and the arena erupted as Chael Sonnen made his entrance. Known for his unyielding spirit, he walked to the octagon with determination in his eyes, the cheers of his fans pushing him forward. He climbed into the cage, pacing like a caged lion, preparing mentally for the challenge ahead. He had trained tirelessly for this moment, revisiting every aspect of his game, every technique, and every strategy.
Then came Wanderlei Silva, a legend who faced the crowd with an electric charisma. His entrance was met with a deafening roar, and he embodied the spirit of a warrior, the kind who thrived on chaos and embraced the thrill of the fight. As he entered the octagon, it was clear he was ready to unleash his fury.
The moment the bell rang, the atmosphere shifted. Chael launched into his familiar wrestling stance, looking to ground Wanderlei and negate his striking prowess. He charged forward, grappling for control and sending the message that he intended to dictate the pace. But Wanderlei was ready; with his notorious Muay Thai skills, he countered expertly and swiped at Chael with knees and elbows, every strike sending shockwaves through the crowd.
As the rounds flew by, the intensity only increased. Chael caught Wanderlei in a daring takedown, and the arena erupted as he matched technique with raw power. The crowd gasped and cheered-this was a battle of wills. But Wanderlei's resilience was on full display; he scrambled back to his feet, unleashing a flurry of vicious punches that found their mark.
The back-and-forth nature of the fight kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Chael's wrestling mixed with his tactical brilliance was a sight to behold, but Wanderlei's heart-the heart of a warrior-burned bright. The fighters exchanged blows, and every time one of them took a step back, the other surged forward, refusing to yield.
As the final bell approached and fatigue settled in, both fighters were bloodied but unbowed. In the last round, Chael found himself in a tight spot against the cage, and Wanderlei capitalized, launching a barrage of strikes. But just when it seemed that victory might slip through Chael's fingers, he surged forward, catching Wanderlei in another takedown, securing his position as the clock ticked down.
When the fight finally concluded, the arena was a cacophony of cheers and applause. It didn’t matter what the judges would decide; fans had witnessed something that transcended sport. They had seen two giants of mixed martial arts pour their hearts and souls into the octagon, each refusing to back down, epitomizing the true spirit of competition.
As they raised each other’s hands in a show of respect, the crowd erupted once more. It was a match for the ages, a clash of titans, and as Chael looked into the eyes of Wanderlei, he knew that this was a moment neither would ever forget. The legacy of both fighters would be etched in history, but it was the passion of the fight, the grueling back-and-forth, that truly defined the greatest match of all time.
Hate that idea. Rob height is an issue and I don’t think he has the strength to keep up with those boys coming down from 220 to 235 lbs
I agree with your opinion. Being rolled around and out wrestled is one thing. But absorbing that level of trauma to your body from getting punched and kicked is a whole something else.
Especially with bigger people
Rob at 205 will be phenomenal
All in for whatever Rob does 🔥
YOU LOOK GREAT IN THAT SHIRT UNC
Ladies and gentlemen, and still undisputed, Chaeeeel the emperor
i agree that whittaker vs rountree is an amazing fight..i also agree with most of what chael was saying...i use to say whittaker can be one of the superstars in the UFC
I wanna see Rob vs Kamaru!
Whittaker ate some bad kangaroo meat and forgot how to grapple.
Kangoroo has good striking but nobody checks his wrestling
In my mind you are the uncrowned middleweight champion, nobody did what you did the way you did it to Anderson Silva. And the best most charismatic talker ever in mma history. Well rounded in all areas. Thank you uncle chael brother for all you did in mma then and now.🫵🏼👍🏼🍻❤️🔥🙏🏼
First thought was Whittaker vs Khalil. Or a fight with Rakic
Barbell makes you look GREAT Chael!!
The Reaper is a legend and does us Aussies proud but the thought of him at 205 is a horrible idea.
He should go back down to 170
In my opinion going down a division might retire him sooner. I think these guys bodies and weight are evolving with age and gradual diminishing performances from these weight cuts. Holloway would probably be on a down trajectory if he went back to 145.
Going up to a unknown weight division, You have on the other end, no great scenario either , with the ....."there are weight classes for a reason".... narrative, which is real.
If Pereira made middleweight then Rob can make welterweight again
Alright now i kind of wanna see Rob vs Khalil
The only fight I would want to see Rob at 205 is Rountree Jr . Even then that’s a really tough match up for Robert , Caio or imavov are the ones more built for 205
Whittaker is a top 10 LHW right now
He's getting beat at 85 and u want him to move up 😂 good ol chael with a horrible take
To be a Lock, you gotta be the best. And the best is Blessed. you disapoint me Uncle Chael
It would be interesting to see whether he can hang, but I don't see it ending well. He's going to be massively undersized. Even Izzy wasn't able to sufficiently bulk up when he fought Jan.
Even izy didn't seem small again jan and he didn't even try to reach 205 he stepped up weighting 190 if i remember correctly so imagine Robert at 205 or 204 he'd be great
Izzy weighed 200.5
People were saying he was undersized vs khamzat
dude walks around 220
Good question to ask himself Chael
Whittaker Vs. Piera this time next year. Xmas Super Fight… what a storyline if it goes down.
I like this dream match up. I however don't believe Whittaker can absorb that kind of punching power.
I don't know if Rob has that chin anymore, he was rocked BAD against Costa and then Chimaev broke quite a few of his teeth. I think Rob would dominate welterweight, that division looks perfect for him to take over, the only real threat being Rakhmanov but Rob would have the power and experience to stop his wrestling
brother usyk and fury didn't grapple so size didn't matter nearly as much
Chael P Sonnen was right
In other breaking news the earth is round
If Rob is thinking about moving to 205, than he should retire. He has no chance in that division. However, DDP would be a Humungous LHW and very successful in that division.
He would not be humungous at all. He would be average or slightly below average sized at LHW. His cage weight is 213 and his walk around weight out of camp is about 222 which is smaller than most top fighters at LHW.
Whitaker vs Jiri would be a banger
Rob would probably lose hes way to small compared to jiri
Rob going down to 170 would be the better option, he'd be the bigger guy instead of being the smaller guy at 205.
Ahh the weight disadvantage theory, it’s been a while
Kamzat vs Alex !!!!! Alew gonna get raged dolled for sure!
Robert vs Khalil 🔥
Aldo is already in-which is weird. But that was my argument
I like him moving up. Biggest mistake he made was not embracing the nickname, Bobby Knuckles. His is really lame. Maybe has something sentimental for him.
Rob fighting at 205 would be absolute lunacy. Literally everyone inside the top 15 would kill him. He's too small, too old, and too chinny.
Tyson fury didn’t have the opportunity to lay on top of usyk
6:27 - that extra "secret training" that nobody knows about...
C'mon Chael, I think we're past euphemisms at this point!
Whittaker vs Holland at 185
9:16 Playing video games & gooning all day like DJ kinda disqualifies you from being cool. 🤣
Chael is BEAVER CLEAVER
Bro is getting man handled at Middleweight. I think its time to take some big money super fights and then retire before he gets seriously hurt. He is at least 2 big fights away from another shot at the title and he doesnt have that kinda time.
Izzy is more locked in the HOF than Rob. Its not close…
Aldo is the biggest HOF lock on the roster
Rob is done, Yall....
.... you heard it here, first.
I think he is too short but i wish the best for him
Rob has the frame of a lightweight. Hes barely 5'10.
Whittaker at 205 is a bad idea lol, he’s like the ideal middleweight, don’t move weight classes Rob, 185 is perfect for you
I don't know either way, but did he say conor isn't in or is in?
He'd get murdered at 205 lol
Rob needs to stay at MW
Maybe a fight against Rountree, but after that stay at MW
9:48 hey Chael. We love that your a loyal guy and you like to put Anthony Smith your coworker over anytime you get a chance. Please stop. We see through it. It’s getting weird. I’m so sick of you just randomly bringing up Anthony Smith for fights. Just leave it alone man.
Of course Rob knows what an awesome dude he is. He just struggles to give a rat's arse whether or not random passers-by know it as well.
1:27
Chael wasting our time with this one
I love you at all pounds, Chael.
Silly idea - rob is a average size mw at most - someone like jan or reyes would knock his head off
the biggest lock, really? So what about Adesanya and Alex Pereira?
All middleweights that moved up to light heavyweight got their asses kicked except Pereira.
I think you could put stuff into historical UFC context and look at those past light heavy weights
Randy couture, Chuck Liddell, Tito, rampage , lyoto machida, vitor Belfort, Rashad Evans, Jon Jones.
I can hypothetically see Alex being competitive with anyone of those guys.
Whittaker, not so much
Whittaker never had a problem with speed. However he always struggled with the physique of his opponents. So moving up will not be beneficial for him.
I’m just glad we have other topics rather than Jon Jones lol
He’s small compared to other middleweights idk why he would move
Biggest lock is holloway
Great, he would end his career on a Tony Furgeson streak, getting KO'd by Light Heavyweights. He is small at 185 and underpowered for goodness sakes.
He fought at welterweight I feel like this is a bad idea, idk 🤷🏻♀️
Even when he makes 05 he's gonna be a really small lhw ... period
I like the idea but probably not so much
W shirt 👕
I’d rather see rob back at 170 than 205 he’s just been mauled only thing is the 205 division is awful
Athletes loves barbell apparel because they pay them to say so
Rob isn't big enough imho. I've stood next to him before. I'm bigger than him and I don't there's any way I would be big enough for 205. It's a big ask.
He knows. he doesnt care
I do think hes a lock but definitely not THE biggest
Biggest lock for HOF is a joke. Izzy\Volk easily more of a guarantee
Whittaker is not over Max or Volk
Or even Dustin or Izzy
@@LarryShytesDustin?
Rob is too small for 205, and I'm a big rob fan. Dricus manhandled him
Let's be real alex would destroy him this is just talk after falling from the top just like jiri saying he's going down
Go watch his PodCast!!!!!🙄
