I’ve lived my entire life in Central Texas and consider myself a cowboy (I run Longhorns). Yellowstone drew me in like a magnet because of all the attention paid to the slightest details about cowboy life. I quickly realized this series was not made by some Hollywood goat Roper wannabe. After finding out during the third season who Taylor Sheridan is, I am pretty positive he developed some of the characters from the outlaw cowboys who hung out at Cody’s nightclub in Waco
he does a good job of making it look real but in the first season when kayce and john pull a calf and the thing gets up and runs off right away im like...."cmon hollywood...do a bit better.." lol for the most part he is doing a great job with the show.
As a east coast cattle farmer (I'd never call myself a cowboy) I saw that but I'll give them the benefit of a doubt because if it was filmed in real time it would take half of the episode length.
Every little boy wanted to be a few things growing. One of them, for me, was a cowboy. Now I didn't exactly heard cattle at hockey camp but I did get to ride some beautiful horses who made riding them easy. Watching and learning how they cut cattle from a heard was light forechecking a player for the puck.. Maybe not the best example but watching it was like watching a ballet .
I grew up spending the summers at my godfathers ranch till I graduated high school. He died the next year. I’ll never forget that time. He had about 2k acres in east Texas. We never did much crazy cutting horseback while herding cattle. Ours was a much more calm type of herding lol. It was still all on horseback though. No ATVs or any of that crap. I miss those days so much.
Some viewers forget this is still a tv drama, not a documentary. Easy to sit back and nitpick. “That newborn calf wasn’t,” and that kind of silly observation. Do you think the show could wait for a newborn calf to do its thing? Do you think it was a real wild wolf watching the camp, or a wild bear in the tourist bus scene? Give your heads a shake. Authenticity is also a slave to the budget, the schedule, and the technical requirements of filming, not to mention the Health & Safety rules.
Goes to show you how important ranching and agriculture are to our nation, not mass gross development. This is a way of life, not everyone can do it; either you got it in you or you don't.
I think the world needed a tv series like this to remind ourselves just how important the cowboy way of life still is

After finding out during the third season who Taylor Sheridan is, I am pretty positive he developed some of the characters from the outlaw cowboys who hung out at Cody’s nightclub in Waco
That's how you do it...
he does a good job of making it look real but in the first season when kayce and john pull a calf and the thing gets up and runs off right away im like...."cmon hollywood...do a bit better.." lol
for the most part he is doing a great job with the show.
Looks like Taylor Sheridan is becoming a legend. Hope not to see him selling stuff just to put his name on it.
As a east coast cattle farmer (I'd never call myself a cowboy) I saw that but I'll give them the benefit of a doubt because if it was filmed in real time it would take half of the episode length.
Trip to Fort Woth. To see the celebrity cutting show he is true to his word bought the best and and look forward to seeing more
Every little boy wanted to be a few things growing.
I Love Taylor Sheridan man
Great creator and details its all in the details. STD should learn a thing from his details
Can't wait until 2mrw, new Yellowstone episode, then for 1883, Major of Kingstown is a great as well!
Me neither. Have you read Ghost Platoon? More of a military genre but another Texas author with a swashbuckling style a lot like Taylor's.
He is amazing and handsome🤙🏻
I wish he'd come out with the Third installment of Sicario already! Fans are waiting.
Have you read Ghost Platoon? It's more of a military genre but Sicario and Wind River like action. It would make a good series too..good day
Except for when a calf gets up after being born 20 seconds ago and runs off into the horizon as a 4wt, haha!
Great show! But how do they keep those trucks and trailers so clean??
Is there a cowboy out there that can verify this man's work? Cause it looks pretty good to the untrained eye
Agree, no one is better. Have you read Ghost Platoon? More of a military genre but another Texas author with a style a lot like Taylor's.
You might not have caught it but the bear was real. It wondered in and they just decided to use it and started filming. The wolf was on a wire.
Yes sir, exactly right.
Your great on Yellowstone.
Goes to show you how important ranching and agriculture are to our nation, not mass gross development. This is a way of life, not everyone can do it; either you got it in you or you don't.
Great Tractor Supply commercial lol
This is right there with the Sopranos and possibly better.
Wonderful someone connected to reality in 1883
We need more Tractor Supply product placement in this video.
Long live Taylor Sheridan
Good commercial for Tractor Supply. I shop there.
