I've got to commend Kia/Hyundai for not giving up on entry-level sedans and vehicles, unlike the Big 3 did. First time price conscious buyers become loyal repeat buyers if the vehicle works well.
For some reason, Kia/Hyundai/Genesis seem to have exceptional insight into what car buyers want and is willing to give it to them.
John is amazing man. He runs around like he’s 20 years old and doesn’t slow down! He’s my Hero!
I want to see this car in the long term. I hope this car has no recalls, and is very reliable. I can’t wait!
Kia & Hyundai continue to be the most compelling automotive group
This is a great looking car. And it’s not a small car at all. Fantastic price point
+1.. Nice introduction! .. This KIA group is top shelf in the market.. (Me? a Porsche owner since I could drive; '70s era)
Camera man could definitely learn some new angles and distance to define the vehicle better
When is the GT model only going to be released !??
We replaced an aging 2007 Honda Element EX in 2020 with a new Kia Soul GT Line and the vehicle has been a "best buy" for us. Great fuel economy, reliable, comfortable, holds a fair amount of cargo, nice leg room front and rear and with over 86,000 miles on the odometer it is still on its original brake pads. 😀
Nice job on this interview, John.
They need a hybrid on this one
Great job John
Looks like a Pontiac Aztec made by Kia
CAFE requirements are more permissive as wheelbase increases. If manufacturer can keep weight down and wheelbase up, they will get the best action against CAFE requirements.
I work for Kia the downside is the ultra weak 1.6 turbo 150-160 hp …. Great looking car with a poop 💩 engine
yep, they should haveused the 2.0 T for a performance variant.
Y does everyone want an ev so bad. I actually really like this. Styling included. Guess ill be the only one on the road with one lol.
It looks like the "measure once, cut twice" guy designed the rear hatch. We definitely know who hired to the Honda Odyssey designer.
wish they would have opened the hatch to show it's practicability. Hate that other sedans don't offer a hatch. makes the sedan so much more useful.
Nice enough sedan but a big mistake for Kia and Hyundai is this horrible naming scheme K4 K5 they are ruining any sales that anyone who liked the Forte would have.
bring back the Kia Sephia please
there is plenty at the junk yard. I had a 2001 elantra MT, which was basically a sephia. Drove that car like I stole it, super reliable.
Why does the old guy stand in front of the car?
So, Autoline Exclusives are advertisements?
I like it’s not a hybrid. They put all their resources into building the best possible car.
I hate that it's not an EV.
@@jamesvandamme7786 Why is that
How much did they pay Polestar for the design?
The front I don’t know if I like that rear quarter area. I like the ELANTRA N-Line look better, and it’s made in Korea.
Negative warranty work and questionable Ev & ice drivetrains I’ll pass on this group
The rear end is meh😂
Put a jean skirt on it, I'm there. be careful of the capless filler nozzles there son.
Manufacturers shrink the size of the engine then bolt on a complicated turbo to get the power back up is just plain dumb. Think expensive repairs. 👎
another Home RUN for KIA~!
This will upset the BEV losers…?
Smart move KIA! What's not to like.
Attractive, but I would have made it a hatch back. Much better for loading.
Hatch coming in 2025 and I'm waiting for it
@@REAPEROFTOES A hybrid Civic Hatchback would be a very compelling vehicle. If it was already available it would be perfect for my daughter going off to college.
Did he fart when he bent over to "pop the hood:????????????
If he didn't, he should have. THAT'S how you sell cars.
Sorry, but kia styling has become too weird for me, I'll shop elsewhere.
👍
Producing overpriced vehicles in a cartel country 👎😂
Americans don't want to hear the car is made in Mexico. maybe the young buyer does not mind as much.
Stay away from hybrids; they have more parts (2 power plants) and cost more to own and operate that EV's or ICE vehicles. Way Bad!
Gas engine? Yawn . . .
Ya, LP would be much cooler. or Hydrogen.
Not an EV? Neeeeext.
LOL. There are a lot of discounted ones on the used market if you need.
No one is buying EVs. They are packing up in lots. Unsold
It's bad enough to listen to some emphatic speech from a goofy woman, but to hear it from a gray-haired guy, it's too much to listen to
Id rather have a refreshed Model 3. This is running a dinosaur powertrain, worse performance, and can't charge at your own home.
Drastically different price points. I might as well say I'd prefer a Porsche Taycan over your Model 3. Or a Rimac.

Wonder if I could actually sit in the back without my head hitting or grazing the roof. Im only 5'9 but I always have to slouch. Even in midsize sedans. And the car feels like a dungeon.
I find sedans to be one of the worse body styles. Why add a whole set of doors for passengers if they are going to be cramped. Never understood trunks either. If you want driving dynamics get a coupe. For passengers and cargo. Get a wagon, minivan, maybe hatch, or SUV.
Im amazed they can make a 2.0 liter engine make such miserable horsepower numbers. Its quite depressing how small engines are forced to have more power with large cars but larger engines have weaker numbers.
Another reviewer who is 5’9” was able to … look for another review of the car from early in the week in a different channel (can’t remember)
@tedadamgreen Just saw another review who was taller than me by a bit have his hair touch. That's a red flag to me and makes the back seat a dungeon and penalty box in my book.
The only time anyone's heads should be touching the roof of a car is if they are 6'5 and up in my books. What's the point of making the car to begin with.
That's a extreme I know but I am very sick of the sloping roof lines that make sedans worthless. I just dont want to feel claustrophobic. You can look at older sedans with much higher rooflines. Now they are all desperate to have a fake coupe sporty look.
back seats are cramped for the same reason you make guests sleep on the couch.
Love sedans but not coups
Get rid of the stupid turbos.
Never get out of its own way otherwise. Plus more service $$ when the engine or turbine blows.
@@jamesvandamme7786 Four cylinders were fine for 40 years without turbos.
Not electric. Don’t care.
They already have the Niro EV, This competes with the Corolla, Civic, Mazda3, Sentra.
Electric is garbage
Dont like the 2 screens
Too much tech
Forte is nicer
Base model with 17"tires, leather & the premium sterio is what people want.
hybrid does not make as much sense in smaller lightweight cars.
