  • My quest for a DoorDash 70% acceptance rate continues with my sights set on the Diamond Program and Top Dasher if I can withstand all the bad orders DoorDash throws my way. Hopefully the earnings are worth it once I get there.

The grind is real. The orders used to be good here, it was pretty easy to stay around 65% and just take good orders and make decent money. Then they changed the rules where you had to keep your AR up to get the good orders. It turned into the same kind of stuff that you're getting, just shit order after shit order after shit order. Had to constantly reject a bunch of orders, AR dipped to 50% and if you're below that you just get crap. So I quit dashing.

    • @jeffw1267
      @jeffw1267 10 месяцев назад +3

But that was predictable. People do have the right NOT to tip and still expect decent service. It sucks, but it's reality. DD was forced to take steps to get those cheap orders delivered.

    • @jegr3398
      @jegr3398 10 месяцев назад

@@jeffw1267while I understand what you're saying, it's basically working for slave wages as it's set up now. I could make $25/hr easy normally and over $40/hr on peak dinner times on weekends. The dinner peak used to last 4-5 hrs, it was pretty easy to make $100 plus any weeknight just doing the dinner rush. Eventually the dinner peak dwindled down to about an hour and a half if you were lucky and it was a real challenge to make even $30 a night. Completely not worth it at that point.

The best way is to have a really gas efficient car and go out and use all 3 apps in a good area for lunch and dinner rushes. From 1130am to 10 p.m., you can get $150-$200 based on the day of the week before gas if full time and make $600 a week, especially if you're in large order program for dd

As long as I have been dashing, 7 years now, I have never ever taken anything under $4 Had 60+ declines last night, but still managed $140 in 6 hours. THought I would run into you at Cheesecake factory again lol :) I do have a little side tip. When you get postino orders from Kierland commons, do NOT park in the handicap spot, or your car will get dumped on with bird shit LOL.. I found out the hard way.. Someone was telling me to NOT park in handicap spot hahah. PS... Flybye at Desert Ridge once you find it, its piece of cake, and most all the time pretty good payouts when taking those flybye orders

    We work the same zone.
That cheesecake factory is the worst you walk in and head to the back right and no one is ever manning the section. They NEVER have the food ready and more than 50% of the time they have not fired it yet. That zone can be very frustrating at times. DD finally sends a decent $/mile ration only to either be TWO zones south or a nature hike up north. Fountain Hills should be its own zone that is another issue. Also the nines is the worst apartment complex ever.

Most days I get 3 -4 LOP or catering between 10-12 so it’s just not worth it to take any other orders. Have you tried just logging off and driving back to your preferred zone. Take the mileage and time loss on the return trip. Then turn your phone on again to reset the algorithm. Otherwise, it’s going to keep sending you back to where you went before you didn’t want to go. It assumes you’ll go back there because you told it you would.
Also, weekdays during lunch is generally terrible during the week in Las Vegas. I guess Phoenix is better?

Time of day matters are well, you see more trash during the day than at night. You only need to be above 70% so if you're in the 80's you can be picky and decline orders. Never go for anything under $4. If you get 3 bad orders in a row, take a break. Let all the crap orders flush out. Some days i get non stop banger orders and don't have to decline anything even after 15 orders. All $2/mi+ and over $6+. Some nights you'll get more bad orders usually mon-wed. So it helps taking a break and work at a better shift.

  • @jeffreynelson4149

It does give you better orders but you also have to worry about the stacks and ratings. Top dashers need to check there ratings everyday and check to make sure you don't have a new 1 or 2 star rating from a customer.
When you see a 1 star or 2 star rating you can block those customers from future deliveries. Just call support and tell them you don't know who it was but they gave me a 1 star or a 2 star and i don't know why! You can I block them from doing future deliveries because you feel unsafe for your ratings, delivering to them.
    My advice!

Those who have been around a while see the scheme and most refuse to be played! This ain't charity. IT''s BUSINESS! Just a suggestion. Take your crap orders during NON peak hours, but cherry pick during lunch and dinner. Doing this will keep you above 70% with ease. I typically work 7am-9pm (with breaks in between). Take most orders 7-1030, cherry pick 1030-130, take most until 530, cherry 530-8, then take whatever to close the night. I do take bad orders, but the large catering orders that are ordered the during peak makes up for it.

Iv been finding a helpful strategy is scheduling only 1-1.5 hour DD shifts at a time. Then when/if I land in undesirable areas, activate on UE & GH. If I get a worthwhile order on another platform, going in a favorable direction, immediately end that dash. Complete the UE/GH order & then only reactivate a new 1-1.5 hour DD shift only once I’ve arrived back to a preferred area. Ideally a pocket of Restaurants that are all
mid-high tier, not in close proximity
to fast food. Best of Luck, I think you’ll see this TD/high AR strategy really pay off when volume picks up a bit in
    Sept-Dec.

I snapped a picture of his unit number and his food sitting there it was almost like he was pissed off because he was trying to scam me for food so I don’t like when people say I’ll meet you at the gate they’re just planning on scamming you and trying to screw you over times of tight people are always gonna look for free food

Content creation aside, let the suckers play the game. My wheels move when someone is willing to pay my price; otherwise I'll be parked outside of the restaurant their food is getting cold in just listening to an audio book.
No worries to me... I'm not one who bought food that's gonna sit on a shelf for three hours.
There's no point in complaining about some ppl not wanting to pay enough. Just look at every next day like a scratch-off lottery ticket... some days you'll hit a small jackpot and other days not.
Keep your cost of living light and cost of driving low, and there will be enough decent business to pay the bills plus extra.

Home skillet. We are in a recession. People will not giving money out so you're going to get a ton of s*** offers. You either take them or you don't make no money. It sucks

by the time you waste all the money on gas and wear-and-tear on your vehicle, it's clearly not worth it to be a top Dasher it's just a scam

You got that right now because they broke the algorithm. If you have 50% you're not going to get basically any orders. With this new system that's broken asf and below that ur lucky to get scraps from wat I see I had to build money back up from 45 to 78 now was getting literally robbed the rides I was getting

Crap. Ok. I'll tell you. When you get 100% DD will allow you to decline offers without a penalty, they answer your calls faster and send you high paying orders more often. There. I told you. 😅

You are falling into the DoorDash plan. DoorDash does not promise that you will get better orders, it states you "May" receive priority on higher paying orders.

@@gregkareem9824 Well yes and no. He needs content to create videos, which in turn gets new subscribers, making him extra money.
But yeah no tip orders are bad, as those customers are most likely to get you a CV (contract violation).

@@jeffw1267yeah I get it, he's doing an experiment. Still the thought of taking a no tip order makes me feel gross. No tipper's food should sit on the shelf until the restaurant closes then it gets thrown away.

A few months back, I took a $4 order for 10 miles to test in my NC market on whether ones tip after. TaDa-->No tip,🫤and a [hand-it-to-me].
And this was a area where people had to be making 6 figures to live over there.
And when I got to her house and saw her standing at door, prego with a kid, and scowling at me. I was ahead of delivery time and had her food in a DD bag, so I am trying to figure out why I deserved this look when I drove all that way for pennies.
    NEVER AGAIN!
I felt soooo extra-filthy-dirty after that delivery.
Low and No tippers, will suck out your soul. They are never worth the time or energy.
    I am a 🍒 cherry-picker for life!
