So many levels in tennis. He dominated a 4.5 player but only made it to top 60 in college and only a few ATP points. Power like his only gets you so as the competition level rises. Higher level players would hit equally as hard and move him around not letting him set up so easily. In this match the slower ball speed allowed him time to crush the ball on both sides. Great to see the difference in levels play out.

Hey Winston, I have a suggestion to make it more competitive. I've seen another vlogger that plays table tennis and when he plays against opponents that are way better, they spot him points in the game to help make the match more interesting... We all know by now that if you play guys like Ivan or anyone who's levels above your rating, it's gonna be lopsided. So what about they spot you 30-love on your serve and love-40 on their serve? I mean, they're probably still gonna win but at least they have a little more pressure. I really do enjoy your vids but when you post when you play guys like Ivan, Karue, etc. - I wanna see you have a fighting chance and it could make for more interesting match. Keep up the great work, Winston!

That second game you got against this beast of a player, you were doing everything right. Your movement was exceptional in that game. I think overall your forehand is very solid, your return of serve and backhand were the main differentiators in that match. The backhand was very defensive, not going for a lot and probably no down the lines that I can remember. But it was a great match to watch. This Ivan rips the ball insanely. Especially amazing on the one handed backhand, so much power there. Just WOW.

He’s currently a higher UTR than Karue I believe. And while I would love to see that match, I don’t see any way Karue beats him 8-0. Are you forgetting Karue vs Hermont where he lost the first 18 points in a row? On any given day anyone can be at their best. Or worst. That’s why sport is so much fun.

Also, I believe you are referring to the Govind match, not Hermont where Karue lost the first 18 points. Anyway, I agree that it probably wouldn't be an 8-0 skunking, but I also don't think it would be close.

My best utr was a 9.0 and i could hang w my 13.2 utr (his highest at time while he played for the Univ of Utah) practice partner. We hit together for about a year and a half. I have an aggressive game so i could hang but the biggest difference was the consistency in these higher utr players. While my winners against my level he would get them back and have to hit one more. He mostly hit a med to med high topspin off both sides but when he let lose his backhand which could be huge his power didnt phase me. We only ever played one set and it shoulda been 64 but i was overly generous on a dbl fault he hit at break point and it was 63 insead. Second set if we ever player one probably woulda been the same.
