Amon Amarth is the band that you *cannot* hate! :D All of their stuff, from strongest to weakest, are enjoyable. Plus, they are very nice people, as they only "get serious" on stage; but even so, Johan does smile a lot on stage as well. Therefore, they certainly earn respect from me as a fan!
StygianTraveler141 I agree with you 100%. One would have to be a fool to separate this band from metal. I have been a fan for twelve years. This is the song that got me into them, actually. I saw them live and I have pictures with them from when I met them. Indeed, some of the nicest gentlemen on Earth. They got me into metal along with Arch Enemy, Dismember, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir and Hypocrisy. I think they are a band that everyone should have the honor to see at least once. 🤘
I saw these guys a few years back at mayhem. I originally went to see children of bodom and Rob zombie. I was standing in line to get autographs from the guys in bodom and the line for amon amarth was right next to it. By the time I got to the table I saw the sign that said when they were signing autographs for and they were already 5 minutes over, the line for amon amoth was still really long and after I got my bodom autographs I walked away wanting to get in line but I didn't think I'd get one. A few minutes later the line was still there so I just jumped in line. It took about 20 minutes to get back to the table.. Like 30 or 40 minutes past the time they were supposed to be signing them and they were still there. They wanted everyone who wanted an autograph to get one. I got up to them and they were the nicest guys ever. Smiling from ear to ear. I still have their signed photo on my wall in my living room. They were amazing on the main stage too, but that one experience I had with them was the best.

5:17 I love that freakin' solo! It's so relaxing. Once you look past all the labels surrounding death metal, you'll see that it's as beautiful as heavy metal ( Dio, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc... ) and power metal ( Helloween, Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, etc... )

Man, this is one of the most metal songs I've ever heard. The whole album is great.

This is one of the 3 songs I originally thought were the only Amon Amarth songs I would ever like... (Valhal Awaits, Death in Fire and With Oden on Our Side). The others I've seen so far on your channel have proved that wrong. Which is weird. I don't really like growling or screaming or whatever the technical term is.. (sorry >_
Now that you mention it I was the same way before and hated this style of vocals, but this tone of growls I never minded much back when I didn't like it. Other bands that sound similar I enjoyed back then too. Of course now I found my way to enjoying most of that style of vocals.
