I always described the versions like this: *Amon Amarth version* is like when you are on the battlefield in a Bloodrush and everything is muddy and bloody.
*Sabatons Version* is like when a general gives a motivational speech to his soldiers before the battle begins.
I really like that idea for both and it makes sense.
Dude! You gotta hear the "combined" version of this song where the AA and Sabaton vocals are overlaid on top of each other. I know who chris is man hahaha ;) Don't know what interview it was, but they have stated that it was Peter who did the growls and the screams. You can also know it is his voice just by the sound of it.
Emilie Tønnessen it is Peter Tägtgren who is doing the growl. Chris wasn’t in the band when the Carolus Rex album was done. They split up just when the album was released.

I definitely like Sabaton's cover a lot more. Death Metal doesn't hold my interest it's more often than not just white noise to me but Amon Amarth wrote a good song.

I prefer the Sabaton version I gotta be honest. Just because the vocals are clearer while still powerful. In fact I'd say they are more booming too and I feel it fits better. Probably just uttered complete blasphemy to Amon Amarth fans of course though haha. But to each their own!

Not listening to Sabaton until I started the channel was probably the reason why. My favorite bands of all time is Iron Maiden and Devin Townsend. They both hold the number 1 spot as I cannot pick between both. They both hold a special place for me as they both made me love music in a different way. Iron Maiden made me want to sing and Devin made me want to push my limits for what I like in music.
