I really really want the C43 AMG w205. I have a 2016 C300 and absolutely love it. Came out of a 370z, kicking and screaming. Managed to hold onto it thru baby 1, but baby 2 was just too much for thw coupe. The C300 isn't as quick or nimble, but it is surprisingly competent while being practical and well optioned. Just think the added power of the C43 would be the extra sauce.

Good lord that looooooong closeup zoom on his face had me rolling on the floor. Jack is all business with this review so he leaves the sardonic humor to the camera itself. Incredible.
Interesting review, I did not experience the same when I test drove the X3 M40i, GLC 43 AMG, and the SQ5. I dropped the Audi off my list pretty quickly, I could not get comfortable in it and the sales guy was really bad at his job. I found the X3 to be a better driving experience, it felt faster and overall was more fun to drive. The MB also felt outdated and more of an SUV rather than a car (I came from a wagon), the interior materials were nicer in the C43. I ended up with the X3 M40i and am super happy with it.
I'm convinced your average car buyer is just a normie who doesnt know or care to know about their potential purchase. They just buy anything that has the prettiest badge . In the end we end up with dumb shit like _sports coupe 4 door suv_ ...
I mean, is that really some revelation? That’s always been the case. That’s how some shitty cars manage to sell millions, despite being awful cars. Hell, you have people who walk into dealers and walk out with a car that very same day without any research done. People don’t like doing research and prefer to buy with their emotions. That’s how we end up with the products we’ve got today, across any industry.
meh, who cares? Why get hung up on the label? I'm not a fan of SUVs at all, but if people are going to buy them, we may as well have sportier, better looking SUVs in addition to rugged off road ones. People like you who are too hung up on the name want everything to fit into their stringent ideals. Only boxy, rugged, off road SUVs, and sporty 2 door cars for everyone. Nothing in between. Now that's what I call "dumb shit".
Im glad to see your video about subscribing worked somewhat, im one of the people that consistently watched but never thought to subscribe. Thanks for another great piece of content.
I don't get SUV coupes. If you want a performance coupe, buy a CAR. After all, physics dictates that a lower centre of gravity is almost exponentially better for handling. To that (lofty) end, SUV coupes don't make sense. They're incongruous. An SUV coupe is the equivalent of an _all-in-one_ ice-making electric kettle. Or perahps a pancake skillet/casserole dish combo unit. 👀 The two sector's that an SUV coupe (attempts to) straddle - by virtue of one from the other - means it'll perform average at best in either sector. Where its better at being an SUV, it'll be worse at being a performance coupe. Because, there's a significant element of mutual exclusivity between those two sectors when it comes to their individual requirements. Different end-points, requiring separate means of production. And thus, separate 'tools'. _Never the twain shall meet..._ ('til the late 20-teens, at least). Though we have all officially gone bonkers this year, so kinda makes roundabout sense (nonsensically). (PS. _viva la sedan!_ ✊😎)
I don't think you have your head wrapped around how much things have improved in the performance SUV space in the last decade. The larger AMG GLC 63 S goes around the Nurburgring at 7:49, which puts it in the same range as a Porsche 911 Turbo S from 10 years ago, or a Gallardo Superleggera. There aren't that many four door cars in general that are faster than that. This GLC 43 Coupe won't be quite that fast, of course, but it more than validates the idea that these things can keep up with many sports cars now and isn't going to be befuddled by a curve. As for why you'd get this instead of an E53 or whatever.... you get a ton more interior space. What's wrong with that, exactly? When you're done fucking around on a backroad and need to move stuff, or people, or dogs around, you can knock the back seats down and fit more stuff in. That's not an option on most sedans.
@@warren_r Cheers for the reply. Believe, I've fully wrapped my head around it. Improved technology, advances in materials, increased knowledge etc. become moot anyway, because physics will always push back harder. And, the faster/quicker a vehicle goes, the greater the effects of resistive physics it undergoes. Therefore, given two identical vehicles, one 'stretched' vertically, the taller of the two will not perform as well as its rival. This will always be the case. I don't know off the top of my head, but regardless of how fast the quickest SUV has made it around the Nürburgring, I bet there's a sedan/coupe that's done it faster. In fact, I'd stake my house on it blind. As a thought exercise, envisage the fastest SUV, then lower it 12+ inches. The new, revised, lower vehicle will beat the original SUV because of physics. Peace. ✌️
SUV in general do not make sense for 95% of the buyers. Most of them would be (objectively) better of with a sedan or an estate. However buying a car was never an objective task. People dont buy what makes sense, they buy what makes them feel good.

The reason I didnt go with a C43 and got a 440i is because the shitty first gear problem, the car jerked like a rodeo during my test drive and I turned around and that was it.

What a pleasant surprise the interior was. I was having flashbacks to Mercedes' new S-Class screen gauge cluster and preparing myself for the worst, and there was none of their all-screen nonsense despite the tacked on tablet. The seats look nice. The golf ball-like dimples on the underbody are an unusual but aerodynamically practical touch I'm surprised isn't done more often. Surprised ventilated seats would be an added option though. No audio measurements this time?
