Sad thing I had this perfect a year ago and now I'm back to the start again from the beginning.....weird thing is even though I forgot it when I look at this video it somewhere locked away in my mind and it's slowly coming back.
Thank you so much! I knew how to play the intro part but nothing else so this helped me learn it in like a half hour! Great tutorial and the most accurate sounding I've heard so far.
Good tutorial. Couple of things: The part that goes "You wanna be where you can see" should be Dm to Eb twice and the fill for the "Wouldn't you like to go away" after the Cm chord should be the notes D, Eb, G, D, Eb, C.
Hey thanks for sharing this! Been watching Cheers on Netflix a bunch recently, thought occurred to me to play this at church as an opening. Thanks for putting that work in
This tutorial was so helpful when I was putting together my cover of the Cheers theme! Some really bloody tricky chords, but i got there in the end! Thank you so much!
Thanks drawboy6x3.....most of the tutorials for this song are solo versions and this is one of those songs where it's better to sing it when you even if you can't sing.
HI - great post - nice simple way of describing this piece. Just a minor tweak. The original soundtrack that you cover at about your 2:45 uses an Ab bass for the Dm7b5 chord - so you get a chromatic slide from Ab bass to G bass for the next G7 chord. Also, agree with Uncle Harry re Dm and Squire's Paintbrush re those tweaks - but you got me started quickly for which I am grateful. Good work. Cheers.
around 5:55 the chord is a d minor 7th.not B flat.when they go 'you wanna be".......so d minor 7th or just d minor to the Eb chord......but everything else is spot on I believe, thanks!!!
Hi,my name is Rob, *Drew bailey* ( the person who made this video ) was my brother, i just wanted to tell you has passed away since making this video, on June 23 2018 he was involved in an accident in a bar, he got wedged in the rear window when the management was in the middle of making a 2nd entrance to the bar, firefighters tried desperately to get him out but he was a large man and try as they might, he could not be budged, he eventually was freed but by then malnutrition had set in ( so basically the thing that set him free, also killed him) as it turned out, the bar never made the 2nd entrance as they never had a permit. anyway keep the comments coming as im sure he will be looking up at us and screaming. Thank you
thanks for this it helped me a lot. I think the part "you wanna be where you can see" is Dm to Eb not Bb Eb. Come check out some of the lessons on my channel.. maybe I can pay it forward.

Can you explain the "you wanna be where you can see" part a little more?
thanks for this it helped me a lot. I think the part "you wanna be where you can see" is Dm to Eb not Bb Eb. Come check out some of the lessons on my channel.. maybe I can pay it forward.
Its funny because nobody ever plays the best part of theme... The closing theme
The original arrangement uses less keys but I see this arrangement on tutorials.
How complicated.
