One of my greatest dreams where to actually play this wonderful tune on piano. Thanks to this very program I learned how to do it! A few years ago now, but I'm still as happy when playing it on parties as well as by myself. Thank you so much, Piano Guy!!:)
Scott, could you PLEASE re-post the segment from episode 907 where Bradley Sowash walks through Heart and Soul!!!! Sorry that i posted this on so many videos, i just wanted to increase the chance that you would actually see it.
Mike Post wrote a ton of TV themes, but Gary Portnoy wrote the Cheers theme, and the Punky Brewster Theme, and the Mr. Belvedere theme. Dave Grusin wrote a ton of themes too, including the St. Elsewhere theme.
For the most part these chords are correct but not all of it is. He needs to go back and listen to it or just watch this great show again on Netflix. This show didn't really get popular till the third season. That guy should just play and not sing. Horrific voice
This video is so frustrating to watch if one wants to learn this song the way he's playing it because although he's naming the chords correctly, the angle of the camera makes it hard to tell the voicings of those chords.
Every piano teacher knows you learn the left or right hand separately and then put the two together. They spent too much time on the left hand and almost none on the right. I wanted to see the documented use of his right hand voicings while he plays clever transitions of octaves to carry the melody while intermingling various chord textures....that's the hard stuff to figure out. Solid player but too much talking instead of showing how to play left and right hand parts separately and then combining the two for the magic. Can you show use the right hand please?
I agree that the voicings are standard, but that isn't what I am referring to Pete. Its some of the cool right hand playing he did early on that carried the main melody while mixing structure - not the chord playing while he sang. That's easy to do. Cheers!

i had such a hard time trying to find this again. thank god
I missed these old ones. Bring back all the ones that you posted before...great clips!!
It was really nice of Dave to give Steve Jobs a piano lesson.
I'm excited to show this to my son. He will love this! ♡
Some of us just don't have great vocal abilities, but this guy kicks ass at piano!!
My kiddo wants me to sing while he plays piano... I tell him I sound like a wallaby. 😆
WONDERFUL!
Well done :) I enjoyed it.
they're making a lot of great points..if u read sheet music, stylizing it is far from obvious
i love that tune
Love it!
dave's playing is a bit advanced but sounds incredible
he over plays everything instead of keeping to the simple originality of any song he plays
@@deanskidmore4495 a LOT of people can play piano, or other instruments for that matter, gotta stand out somehow
He is the leader of the program, he decides where the shows goes, which journey the watcher takes, not the guest.
Good singer

Ben shapiro mixed with cenk from tyt playing the piano!
NORM!
Good Grief! Please let him play. We can't get the lesson. Such a pretty theme song too! The voicings are fabulous. Shut it down! Silence!
32pedalnotes lol I know ! Just shut up and let him play!!!!!
What's blurred out at 1:45?
??
This guy would be good at party with a few beer in him!
i like his voice...! gravelly. an unrefined Jamie Cullum. :)
I watched this entire video, and I still have no clue how to play this damn song lol
He can't! you've said it yourself, he's BOLD!
Can you teach the song..
6:06 for actual piano
Flaming Moe's,
Let's all go to flaming Moe's,
Where liquor in a mug,
Can warm you like a hug,
Happiness is just a flaming Moe away.
4:07,guest is very pissed off now,lol
Yes...lol. He looks like hes about to up and leave saying "F you! You wanna ramble forever you can do the damn show by yourself!!"🤣
Written and sung by Gary Portnoy
i just want to learn the song i dont need the lecture before hand boring
your playing is wonderful and inspiring to those that don't have the talent, unfortunately the singing is a less than inspiring distraction.
nothing like the original
"Where Everybody Knows Your Name" by Gary Portnoy

what model piano is he playing on?

Simon and Marcy...........
What a weird house this guy lives in with no view 😎
Adventure time
Nice.....check this out
Another little nugget
Such great pianists, but he never lets them talk. He rambles on forever about the dumbest stuff, its so annoying
There are SO many versions of practically EVERY song that don't have discussion around it. It's good to have options.
Typical Scott Hueston vid! Not helpful imo!

overly intellectualized
CorporalPoon lol nice word there !!
AH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Seems like dave wants to play it and Scott just keeps going into nerd mode discussing and repeating himself about mixed sand over notes. 😳
Major nerd mode...not much respect for the guest....its a shame!
This is seriously one the most annoying tutorials I've ever tried to sit through.
Jeffery Young lol sounds like talk radio piano
Well nice playing, but you got the words wrong. :-(
He talks too much about stuff I don't care about...
You're over engineering this song just stick to the originality and simplicity of it
Didn’t know Taylor Hicks plays piano
too much talking
What an awkward interview this is. Just no chemistry between the participants.
Dude totally sang the last verse wrong lol.
Too much talking.
