Are you kidding me?? Each video from Joan Chamorro and his orchestra is better than the previous one. How can that be??? Please vote Joan Chamorro for the Nobel Peace Prize. What he has done and is doing is absolutely phenomenal. The mix of old and young is so, so terrific!! Thank you Joan and go Carla on guitar! Carla is really coming along.

The Girl Can Really Swing, Awesome Voice, And Undefined Beauty.
After the pandemic, my first port of call is Sant Andreu or wherever Joan Chamorro's wonderful youngsters are performing! It's nice to see so many of them mature in the way they play. Joana's singing is simply beautiful as is her charming expression. Carla's guitar solo shows definite maturity and is another wonderful surprise! Fine work all around!
My thoughts exactly.....I want to see Barcelona....my wife doesn't know our trip will be scheduled when the maestro and his "kids" are scheduled
This girl is special. Could sing with any big band in USA. Joana Casanova, you’re special. Just flat out sings. Chamorro’s best yet. Sings any genre you throw at her.

@@hank1519 Not so difficult, IMHO: He creates fun, he creates challenges, and he creates a bond - together with the freedom to develop, the best conditions to convince children to commit to one subject for 10+ years!

I've been watching the videos on a daily basis for a few years now, and I'm watching(!) while listening to them! I read a lot of comments, including those of Joan Chamorro. Most important is their blogspot, which is quite up-to-date on the members' roster. It used to include the musicians' ages - no more now - but IMHO they are still sorted by age in the sections.
Eah, "Mistress Cool" freezes the fire down to Zero Kelvin 'n' keeps the chords swinging

to be honest, i cannot.bear her singing......i dont like her phrasing, or often what i think is lack of it, and i also find her voice itself thin and without expression....mind you i love a half dozen of the other singers and musicians and like all the rest...

@@ellsrustia6329 I'll never forget Carla. She and Alba Estaban have been there since the beginning and are a solid foundation for the band. If Joan has a mandatory age limit for graduation from the band I hope he waives it for these two stalwarts.
Her voice has more power and control than any other female voice in the group.
Those attributes aren't everything, but they are great gifts for those who have them.

This has been a favorite show tune ("Pal Joey" / Rodgers & Hart) since I first heard it nearly 60 years ago on "This Is Broadway's Best," via the folks' Columbia Record Club. To carry it forward in my head with visions of Joana will be a pleasure. I'll let the others brag on the soloists; Jan's piano work throughout is outstanding.
I never get tired of listening to Joana sing this great song and the band was tight as usual-all the solo's were perfect.

Ms Cassanova is a fine jazz vocalist made unique by her slight Spaish Accent on words like look and book or about. Love her. Luigi Grasso is fast becoming my favorite alto player. Scott Hamilton is perfection. All this is topped off by Senor Codina's fine trombone dessert.
I could write a lot of why I am such a fan of Joana Casanova and the band under the direction of Joan, the great director of his band .

Perfect timing! My eyes were dilated from an exam, and I couldn't read, so I decided to listen to music. I could read well enough to see SANT ANDREU JAZZ BAND in the title, that was enough. Plus, a great performance.

I have come to love this song after listening to it being sung by Joana.
The brilliant arrangement, vocals, solos, harmony, swing and special sound of the SAJB makes this version of a famous standard something to savour. The guest artists are icing on the cake and Joan Chamorro of course puts it all together like he always does. The SAJB is as good a jazz band as one is likely to experience and its members are teenagers or early 20s. Amazing!

Yet another great performance of a great jazz standard. It must be both exhilarating and frightening for these young musicians to play with two such jazz giants as Scott and Luigi. Bravo!
