    Great video. So many people make a complete arse of this and would benefit from the wisdom here.

    We got a pair of these when they first came out and before this video. The older Piaggio engines had a more vertical filler. Try doing an oil change on the 150 3V for the first time without a special funnel. Maddening. One of the silliest designs in all of motoring. I use a large 500mL syringe with a hose clamped to the end (and the hose just fits into the smaller hole in the filler so there's no spillage back out. Can use the syringe body and hose combo like a funnel and just dump oil into the syringe body, or add the plunger and push it in a little faster. The real wackadoodle thing about the design is that the dipstick is almost horizontal, too, so there's very little difference in oil level needed to span from the low to high marks. Crappy precision to say the least. Thanks for your videos.

    Greetings. I ask you, if I put synthetic gear oil on it, then can I change it to the regular one? Or for having given it synthetic now I always do it like that? Does it affect the transmission or not if I go from synthetic to regular?

    For the gear oil, would the amount where it drips out be affected by the angle the scooter is at? I see in the video where the rear of the scooter is raised higher than what it'd be if it were on the stand.

    the gear oil change.... isn't there a dipstick for that on the topside of the case? Why wouldn't you fill it using that access point? Also, with the new build, do you recommend a valve adjustment along with the short change?

    I recommend buying a cheap, plastic container of some kind, measure out the quantity (1300ml?) using a measuring cup, pour it into the container and mark it so that you always have that measured container for future changes. That way you just easily pour out from your 4-liter bottles into the container without back & forth guess work, checking the dipstick repeatedly, etc. I change my oil every 500 miles regardless of maintenance checks.

    Robot. Great video, thanks. I have a Vespa GTS 150 3v for the Australian market, complete with a Malossi 183 kit. Do you use an up gear kit on yours and does your sprint have 12" tyres like my GTS?

    Hey Mr. Robot I like all of your videos my question is this is the first time i plan to buy Vespa if you were me what is your choice between sprint 150 - sprint 150s - primavera 150 - primavera 150s

    • @VespaMotorsport
      @VespaMotorsport  3 года назад +3

      All have the same motor and performance. It really just comes down to the aesthetics that appeal to you personally. Sprint is sporty, Primavera is Classic...you can't go wrong with either!

    Great video as always. Mine is due an oil change as it's now just over 38000 miles.
    Do all sprints have disk brakes at the back? I'm thinking that's an upgrade.
    Really hate that the back brake on mine is a drum.

      Thanks for the information. My Primavera being a 2014 lacks abs,and also has he 11 inch wheels.
      The newer primavera has 12 inch wheels, I'm aware that the sprint always had 12 inch wheels. Does anyone know if I could make a direct swap and just buy 12 inch wheels, as 1, it gets harder to buy 11 inch tyres and 2, I think it would be better for the pot holes to have the larger wheel.
      I think adding abs would be too complex. I'm about to buy a Honda SH125I and will refurbish my aging Primavera and use it more for fun rides.
      I think it's such a beautiful looking scooter.
      I've come off three times, twice my own fault, but every time at night and in heavy rain. No serious damage to the scooter, just scratches, mirrors and trim.

    Hey @Vespa Motorsport, if you are taking a long time to reach 3000 miles, at what time interval would you recommend changing the motor oil? Once annually?

      Two years ago I waited two years to change the oil because I didn't put enough miles on it. Oil still looked good and for that entire riding season everything was fine

      If you open up your headlight assembly you see 3 wires connecting to the dash.
      It's probably the biggest or the second biggest plug that became disconnected.
      They can be hard to reach by hand so I recommend completely removing the dash from the handlebars first.
      Good luck, chap

    why are you preparing two (2) gear oil 120ml if you will be using about 50ml? why prepare two bottles? I don't get it, even here in Philippines, Vespa services always prep 2 bottles. :( please explain to me.

    I changed the oil on mine end of 2019 season at 8k miles and currently 22k miles on it now. When should I change my oil, filter, or gear oil next? I was thinking 30-35k miles or end of 2021.

    • @JDMz

      Depends on how much you've used it. If you use it regularly. Now would be the Time

    • @bullonwallst
      @bullonwallst 3 года назад +1

      @@JDMzyeah, I don't use it much. Only 50 or so miles a day on average. I check the oil level and when low I'll add some of my 5w40 BMW oil for my s1000rr which seems to do the trick. Haven't had a issue since I bought it in 2019.

    Why don't you give a tutorial on how to remove a broken dipstick from a poor designed dipstick installation. It shouldn't be that difficult to remove and replace, extremely difficult. Is the broken dipstick under warranty? Shame on Vespa. I'm starting to believe that the scooter is over rated
