Newbie question, why do they make boats with tall sides and such a short transom?

The engine manufacturers only make basically 4 different lengths of engines…. Engine you pick determines the transom you need.
Seaark only uses 20&25” transoms , with the higher sides it may make the transom low in the vid but it’s not. You’d have to try very hard or do something crazy to fill the boat with water
