I bought a '75 Trans Am new from a Pontiac dealer in Naperville, Illinois. Mine was sterling silver with burgundy interior. It had the 400 cubic inch engine rated at 185 horsepower. Also, was an automatic with 2.56 rear end. No dual exhaust but a huge catalytic converter and single exhaust with twin chrome exhaust tips. Interior had custom bucket seats, engine turned dash with gauges (oil, battery, etc.). Also had an am/fm radio but not stereo. Stock these '75's were slow but with a little tweaking you could get them to run quickly. Removing thr catalytic and putting on a true dual exhaust plus headers really woke up my car. Changing rear gears to a 3.42 or 3.73 will do wonders for acceleration. Adding an aftermarket cam will really wake up the car. I know because I did all these mods.

Check the Cowl Tag. I think it was a TransAm, but it was silver.
It says FS87-that is the code for a base Firebird-not sure if it matters, one website says all cars were labeled as FS87 (Base car) by Fisher Body and trimmed as Trans Ams in assembly. The Trans Am is FW87. Color code is 13 which is silver, not white. The vin says a 400-4 which was avail on all Firebird models including both the base and Trans AM. The WS4 is the Trans Am code.

I love the car, but I do have mixed feelings about that LS engine... Even though it's much better than the Pontiac engine offered in 1975

Love all the cars wish I could buy them all but one thing that kills me why does everybody rub down the paint on the cars while they are wearing rings on their hands pretty risky.... Maybe it's just the detailer in me.
