Cab Ride On New VIA Rail Siemens Charger Train CN Strathroy Subdivision Cab Car 2310 Meets 72 W/ P42

On June 27, VIA Rail had held a media event at the London, Ontario station on the CN Dundas Subdivision to celebrate the arrival of its new fleet in Southwestern Ontario. According to VIA Rail, this summer their new Siemens Charger/Venture train sets were going to begin operations between Toronto and Windsor as well as Sarnia, replacing their aging equipment on these corridors. After the official presentation and speeches by VIA Rail officials and other dignitaries, the media and other guests were invited to tour the train and go for a ride from London to Glencoe to experience the new equipment for themselves.
This video shows the view from cab car 2310 as the train is travelling on the CN Strathroy Subdivision as it heads west towards Glencoe, which is situated on the Chatham Subdivision. VIA Rail SCV-42 2210 was powering the train on the opposite end, which was operating as train 671. Also, the train meets VIA Rail train 72 in the video. June 27, 2024.
