    Ohh I love those short random stuff, feels like "back in the old days" when you both did that about things you explore in Japan, thank you :D Now I really have to think about if the golden poo is heated or not, hummm... XD have a wonderful week ^^//

    Yikes! That would be a horrific accident being hurt or killed by frozen golden poo!
    I wonder what local scientists would say about your observation.
    Stay safe and look up for the poo.

    It's a great question actually, any chance you can get a hold of someone in the building who might know? The architect?

    A cool and practical design!

    It must be the surface area and the coefficient of friction on the coating.

    I think it might be an updraft wind coming from the building which is clearing this section of snow..
    Especially around buildings, wind can create some weird and complex air currents, so it might be the reason.

      Yea, good call. The only thing is when there is heavy rain it falls down directly from the tip sometimes. -E

    Walk over into their lobby and demand to have their secrets revealed!
    If it's not heating or specific shape, maybe air flow around the building has something to do with it?

      I have a feeling that they're in the process of purchase or in escrow (if japan has a similar process)

    I think the weirdest part is you have a building that has a golden poo on it

    • @ikaruseijin01
      @ikaruseijin01 2 года назад

      Well to be fair, it's supposed to be a stylized flame. Or that was the idea. It was also supposed to be more upright too, but city engineers objected to that for some technical reason. So it got dubbed the golden poo for it's shape and almost horizontal orientation.

    Why they called golden poo? What’s meant for this statue?

    The tapered end does not allow the snow to accumulate.

    • @kydeanderic
      @kydeanderic  2 года назад +3

      Yea, that was a thought but the *exact* stopping point still seems to be designed purposefully and that's neat.

    Got to be warmed, japanese think of everything.

    • @ikaruseijin01
      @ikaruseijin01 2 года назад

      I tend towards that since the cutoff between the snow accumulation and the bare part is too abrupt. If it were airflow the sides might be more free of snow, but there might be a little snow on top. It's just a straight vertical line. So I suspect it's heated to just warm enough to avoid an accumulation on the overhang.
