When we have a mayor that cannot envision what the public the taxpayer wants and does not enforce law for the homeless drug addicts to actually drive out crime so we can have a normal shopping experience with a clean environment. We will never see what our grandparents use to enjoyed about a safe downtown and China town!

It's so obvious Blangiardi cares deeply about the issue and it has done a lot to address it. You're blaming the guy that got us to the point where things are actually better now since the ridiculous covid policies which everybody lost their mind about.

Driving the homeless away from that location doesn’t solve the homeless problem. They’ll just be down the street or elsewhere.

New creation to help positively impact the area and bring it up is a good thing. It’s sad seeing so many vacant storefronts. Looking forward to the renewing of the area and uplifting Hawaii.
The drugs and homeless issue is sad. Not all of them are homeless because of drug abuse, some are mentally disabled and just left to be on their own. More solutions need to be put into effect from state level. Gov sponsored rehab. A place for them to live and ways for them to contribute and feel a part of society. Street cleanups, gardening, anything that gives them some feeling of having purpose and self worth. While cracking down on drug dealers and their suppliers. And getting drug education programs going again in schools… not that “gender affirming care” BS. Just thinking out loud.

You can build all the cool stuff you want. If a burger is $25 the area will remain the same. Just might look better. The only way to bring people back to downtown? Probably not gonna happen. Sadly.

What exactly is "affordable"?! Who would want to move INTO A CRIME AREA?!!
Don't treat the homeless as a "problem" or just move them out of the area! There's a real problem, fix that first before you plan to gentrify the area again! It didn't work last time, what makes you think you will be able to do it this time?! Push people aside to make money off of visitors and forget all about local people and the real problems that are here?!!
