I came to Platonism via Peter Kingsley's writings on Carl Jung in his book Catafalque, which then in an effort to understand why he thought everything went wrong in "western thought" after the Pre-Socratics (Parmenides in particular) I discovered Pieree Grimes. It was Grimes' RUclips lecture on Jung, Alchemy and Platonism that got me hooked. So with all of that is seems it was inevitable that I would find your channel. Excellent discussion, I look forward to reading your book, currently reading The Enneads.

The work of David Pingree is a good place to start in terms of the work's inception, but very few people have written about the reception of Picatrix in Renaissance.
I fully believe and understand that the highest level of achievement in being a Sage is the action of seeking God in All. The Union with God the Father is the embracing of Truth. Truth is good and evil and to achieve understanding of God, being Truth you have to succumb to the Gnosis. To hold fruit in Wisdom, understanding is necessary and lack of knowledge holds no reason. The astrology of our divine record where we stand with God, maybe Pico, upon knowing the truth, disliked astrology. Maybe his record of past lives to that point wasn't favorable and he was disappointed and ashamed lashing out? As far as achievement for higher power in the Astral alone is the downfall of a mage. To be Hermetic, Sealed by God in Union is a State of Grace only given by God. I believe in the end, no matter how much knowledge consumed, it's true Wisdom and understanding that to be returned to oneness with God falls on mercy by his grace alone. To sacrifice yourself from the world, because you realize that it doesn't matter anymore. I proved to God I love God and that is the difference 🙏..
