A beautiful song that was sung in tune with a real message and meaning. A classic that will never go out of style.
Phil is not a legend, hes right there at the Olympus of music!
Truth is a powerful thing... so is love... think twice... absolutely beautiful song!
Just recently my beautiful daughter's life was taken from her while in a homeless camp in our beautiful home town. She came from a good family and upbringing though she was forced out of her home by CPS because she struggled with Mental Illness and brain damages that occurred on the streets. With these came a drug addiction from self medicating all of her traumas that her body and soul carried like a weight on her conscience. Misleading her down into a deep dark hole. Every word in these lyrics tell my daughters story right down to the blisters on the soles of her feet. She couldn't walk either but she was trying. Now we live with out her presence and her son no longer has his Mom, just the memories of her life. We all need to think twice of what we as individuals have to help others. There are homeless lives that are where they are through no wrong doing of their own. This song should be our Nations Anthem, then maybe we can all heal.
I remember listening to Phil Collins songs back in the 80’s it kind of takes me back to when I was younger.
Thank you Phil, for making us think about it and act on it. Praying for thousands who are homeless and without basic needs being met. Lord, have mercy.

I would never forget that being homeless is for far too many people out there the only reality they know. I was just for a few months homeless, sleeping on other peoples (and luckily my mom's) couches, but it's an experience i won't repeat. Being homeless is hard to say the least. And it's not always your own fault. I am VERY VERY grateful that i found a job and than an apartement. And i can tell for sure: living on the street can easily kill you if you don't watch out.
You've never seen poverty till you've seen poverty like in the Third World, kids looking for food in garbage heaps is something you never forget, I'm so thankful to artists like him for bringing attention to these issues.
I'm an MJ fan and an upcoming musician but this song makes me love Collins Phil almost much more than my idol. I'm nervous and the lyrics really touch my nerves

I remember all the homeless people in the Reagan era--whole families waiting and sleeping on the sidewalks of Manhattan. Elderly women sleeping in daytime with their little dog on a leash--in the park right across from the huge train station in DC.. Many people I know here today feel like they are only one paycheck--or one gentrification--away from homelessness themselves.
