    There are many great shore diving sites on the western side of the big island. To learn more about them visit:

    Cool Video, thanks for sharing. We will be there in a couple weeks and I was wondering about the same thing about the dive flag. We have the 4' florescent sausage (DIVER BELOW) and are planning on using that for our flag. Are these legal to use as a dive flag or do we need the float type that has the red and white flag?

      Next time we are on the Big Island, we'll try snorkeling the Kona side more. Really enjoyed our last three visits. :)

    Byron, nice video. Very natural and unscripted, don't see many of those anymore. Questions...is that a noise maker in your front d-ring? Also, how did you keep your snorkel in the front?

      Thanks Mr Sanchez! I have a shaker in front down low yes. The snorkel is one I found on the dive. SOmebody probably lost it!

    Have you done one for Puako yet? I went diving there a long time back with a friend in the winter months and we could hear whalesongs off in the distance at around 40-60ft. That was an awesome experience. Puako is pretty rough to get in, but there is a place just past the end of the road where there is a sandy entrance in a small bowl of lavarock. Have you been there before?

    Do you guys every dive any wrecks?

    • @Konahonudivers
      @Konahonudivers  4 года назад

      We only have 3 small wrecks here. It's not a big highlight on the big Island. Although it is possible to see the wrecks AND the submarine that carries passengers AT THE SAME TIME!
      We will be visiting Truck lagoon in Coteober where there is some epic wreck diving.

    Hey, that's my cousin! Greetings from Wisconsin! It was so fun watching you dive! Question: So are eels pretty shy creatures?

    • @Konahonudivers
      @Konahonudivers  3 года назад

      They will come out from time to time but they typically stay tucked in the reef during the day

    Hi Guys,
    I noticed you weren't using a dive flag. I will be in Kona for some shore diving in September and wondering if I have to use one. I thought local law required the use of a flag.
    P.S. Great Video!
    Thanks,
    Chris

      Aloha Christopher. The camera guy (Sam) was holding the flag so it wouldn't get in the way of the viewing experience. It is required. We have some really great ones available for rent and for sale here in the shop as well
