Speaking from experience cat fishing is a cottage industry in Ukraine. I got suckered into the pay for letter and agency cat fish scam but luckily only lost a chunk of dollar bills in the process. It was a humiliating and humbling lesson but I own being the lonely idiot to be mocked. I did however make some good friends from other countries and had a fun trip despite the hard lessons. Lesson is man up to your mistakes and harden up. Time is on a man's side if you use it to improve yourself and gain wealth in many facets of your life. Be the magnet.
Thank you for your great insight. As hard as it is, I am in the process of forgetting about agencies and other scam activity that seems to be rampant with those. I gave it 6 yrs, lost some but it was a lesson well learned. I am interested in being in Ukraine, but mainly now for experiencing your culture, seeing the history and lay of the land. Therefore, my trip there will be to experience that only. I think it is best that I meet people in person rather than keeping the false dream of doing it online. It just is not real, so many false profiles, and even talking in a live chat which cost the men that is not necessary. After one such short chat with someone, you either need to give it a couple weeks or don't bother because they are out to get you using false and sometimes illegal means. It is just a waste of time. Thanks for the lesson and many things are changed now, I frankly do not believe in that industry any longer. It is unfortunate that the treatment of the men have given 99% of the women there a very false intention of what really matters in life.
It would have been nice to hear what this video has to say but unfortunately most of the time any ladies that were interviewed could not be heard on the video for me. Also around the 8:38 min mark Conor was speaking but I couldn't hear in the video what he was saying.
@Conor: The strange thing is that some parts work and some don't. Are there any differences in recording or editing between the different parts (talking alone vs. doing interviews)? Did you change some hard- or software recently?
It’s weird. No changes in anything and it works on phone and laptop without a problem. 🤔 I will have to google a solution ... perhaps a device issue. What laptop are you using? PC or Apple? Or Phone? Android or Apple? I did use different mics in different parts (lavalier, handheld and shotgun) as well.
yeah marriage agencies are a big business in Ukraine, I remember seeing in Kharkov metro advertisements for women from 18-35 to meet western men. Even saw on the street once an american with a translator and his bride, translator was awful so knowing Russian is definitely an advantage. As for tinder definitely a no go, its awful even in Russia loads of scams!

FYI, if you travel to Eastern Europe solo, you can use Tinder to meet friends/tour guides. I always meet good (non-scammer) girls this way.

I have the same experience I visit Ukraine 4 time on couple time the girls never show up to the meeting or date .

I could hear most of it but but had to turn the sound on my laptop up quite high and even then it was a bit in and out.
