Wow, they are all doing really well. That Dwarf Namwah looks like it could push a flower anytime now 😄. Great pup separation too, it should do well for your neighbour 👍
Yeah I am really happy with the growth. I had 3 leaves come out at same height after winter and I was afraid it wasn't healthy. But the last 2 leaves have around 4" of separation and it looks really healthy. Now just need to wait and see how the bananas come out. I ordered some translucent banana bags to cover the bunch with after it fruits to keep bugs away. Similar to what they use in tropical countries
he great video as always but I have a few questions about my muse basjoo. I recently purchased a must banjo plant a few days ago and I have already planted it in my backyard. The soil there is rocky and not the best, what soil should I use and what type of mulch? Also it seems to have become more brown at the tips and it is spreading toward the trunk of the plant. It can't be a disease because it was healthy when I bought it, I am not sure how to get it back to it original health.
I would try digging up a big hole - like 2-3 foot diameter around it and do a mix of tree soil and manure. Add some 10-10-10 fertilizer and then just put pine straw or any mulch over the dirt to keep it from drying out. Did the plant you purchase come from being indoors? Sometimes when you first plant them, they get some heat shock from being in the sun. It should come back, agree it is probably not a disease. Just needs to adjust being outdoors and get better soil. Make sure to keep it watered too.
Yeah that's pretty big. I bet it will fruit. I'm interested to see how tall they get. My drawf namwah is 10 feet, but the double mahoi fruited at 5 last year
Unfortunately there’s not an easy way. Best chance would be to wait and see how tall it is when it fruits, color of the leaves, what the bananas look and taste like, and thickness of the trunk. Even then it can really only be a best guess. Try going on bananas.org forum and these a lot of threads about trying to identify variety
@@georgiafarmingwithfluevog .Thanx, Fluevog!..sounds good. DM me when the pup is ready and we can exchange contact info for the trade. We can cut our pups just before we exchange so they are fresh!
Will get one this weekend. Still no flag leaf... it's so tall now. It's got to be any leaf now. Last year when I cut it down, it was shorter than this and had a flag leaf. But that was also the first generation, so maybe it is getting a little taller

@@frostylonewolf1700 Gran nain are pretty big right? Hopefully you can find a way to grow that one
@@georgiafarmingwithfluevog gran naine i think gets to be 6 to 8 feet tall
Its hard to grow a double mahoi for me. Too many pups it shoots up. Can barely get one past 3 feet
Keep removing the pups as they come up and only let one continue to grow
How is it looking now?
How can I find out what kind I have ?
