When I attended my first Pentecostal prayer meeting [1970] and heard the “holy spirit” instruct the faithful to pay no attention to Humane Vitae, it was my last “Pentecostal” experience. What psychobabble, manipulation, and sheer poppycock.
It is not poppycock to them. They are enlightened, with the spirit of something. Some dark entity.

My Mom got diverted towards Pentecostalism when I was younger. I am grateful, as watching all that psychological high put me off, for life! ❤️🙏🏼 Thankfulky, my Mother reverted, and passed away in the arms of Holy Mother Church. Happy ending…

Many years ago, growing up in the bible belt, i attended Maranatha services. Laying on of hands, speaking in tongues, and repeated calls to testify to one's salvation were common practice. But after awhile it seemed rather contrived. Without the sacraments and the Eucharist it seemed less about growth and communion, and more about grandstanding.
Kennedy Hall (The Kennedy Report) has a series on You Tube on the Charismatic movement and its foundations. Very enlightening (and shocking).
Also the Ascent to Mount Carmel channel has series of videos on the errors of the charismatic movement.
Pope Paul VI acknowledged the Charismatic (Pentecostalism) Movement in 1971 & also known as RENEWAL and reaffirmed it in 1975. He went on to say that the movement brought vitality and joy to the Church, but also mentioned for people to be discerning of the spirits.
Pope John Paul II was also supportive of the Renewal and was in favor of its conservative politics.
I'm 66 and a lifelong Catholic. I try to follow the ten commandments and practice the sacraments of baptism, matrimony, etc. I stay clear of this pentacostal laying on hands and speaking in tongues stuff. I got confirmed at 13 so I have the 3rd person in the Trinity guiding me. Went to mass on Pentacost Sunday and wore red.
As a former protestant. I've seen some of this laying on hands and praying over by laity. That is very protestant. I won't participate in any of that. Been there done that. I converted at 30, so I know what I'm talking about.

Heresy by any other name is still a heresy
I use the Modern Catholic Dictionary extensively and have a manuscript I’m trying to get published. May I suggest that you put these terms in a chart differentiating the Catholicism versus 🆚 the Pentecostalism. This helps the listener to comprehend terms they’re not accustomed to.

Several years ago I went to a Life in the Spirit seminar and it seemed like they were trying to manipulate the Holy Spirit into giving them His gifts.
Yes!! I went to it as well. Like they are calling down and repeating the same words, come Holy Spirit, come. I don't think we need to repeat it over and over some 20 times in 10 minutes. And the gift of tongues was totally being forced and copied. Never had I ever felt so uncomfortable than when I went to that seminar at which the last day was that stuff happening. Plus laying on of hands being prayed over. I did cry during that and felt warmth from my feet up. No, I wasn't healed. No, I didn't speak in tongues and no, I'd never participate in that again.
Valid critiques of erroneous and heretical theology and practices is obviously needed to guide the Sheep by priests/bishops so that the Sheep aren’t deceived and mislead. I’ve been serving the Bride of Christ as a Catholic priest for 25 years. I surrender all things to Mother Church. But, sometimes, all I hear is the critiques from Catholics and leaders. Where are the Shepherds who are orthodox and sound and encouraging the openness to the charisms of the Third Person of the Trinity? It’s very clear from the Word of God and the Church’s Tradition and the Early Church Fathers/Apostolic Fathers that the entire Body of Christ was and is anointed by the Holy Spirit and His Gifts. Where are we being encouraged to be open to not just our personal holiness (the sanctification gifts), but also to the gifts to bless others with (the charisms). I only see critiques here. I don’t see encouragement. No wonder we have weak Catholics. Sometimes we are like the Apostles before Pentecost. So, critique away. I feel like a lot of these streamers hurt the Holy Spirit and His desire that we be filled with and empowered by Him. It’s like we have the form of religion without the power. Obviously, this is a generalization. But, I think we need to be careful about quenching the desires of the Holy Spirit. That may be just as damaging for the building up of the Church as someone who may not have all their theology perfectly correct. The Truth of our Faith without the Power from on High isn’t going to win souls or change the world. So, brothers, I pray that we all may have wisdom from Gods so that we don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. I don’t care if anyone gets involved with a certain “movement” or “renewal,” but as one of the Officers in the Church Militant, I will always encourage my fellow soldiers to be equipped for battle with virtues and charisms from the Holy Spirit. The two beautiful Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, theologically remind us of these various graces from Him. It’s never an either/or, but a both/and. Please don’t weaken people’s faith and discourage them from seeking His Gifts, as the Apostle Paul instructs us. I want the Entire Historical Biblical Catholic Faith. This would include the Sacraments and the charisms, the hierarchy and the laity mobilized and strengthened for battle. Most Holy Mother Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, pray for us as we enter in to the Final Battle. Amen.

The Holy Spirit is as much a falsified being as is Christ.. in as much that many heresies for the 2,000 years against the Chuch was always claimed by guidence by their holy spirit. Catholics are getting far too upset if they leave let them si they can find out the hard way
Why all this putting down of the PENTECOSTAL MOVEMENT? Please read ACTS CHAPTER 2 ! Why don't you have a Pentecostal scholar or theologian to give a rebuttle? The Assemblies of God have a theological school that has grest resources.
This is not about putting down, its about having full knowledge about what you are participating in which speaking from my experience in my 20s and 30s and 50s I never knew till I resourced for myself about 2 yrs ago. Im now 67 and knowledge is power otherwise it is very easy to be misled, and get csught up in what could be Spiritually dangerous.❤
