Hey Ryan! This is maybe the sixth or the eighth of your videos that I’ve watched and I thank you so much for that! I subscribed after the very first one and, it’s funny, I feel like I should be paying for my subscription! May you live long and prosper and may the force be with you, my friend!
The latitude, longitude is great for using a pin drop for your location. We use this for off roading and camping. Anyone can find us out in the middle of no where! No streets needed!
Thanks Heather! I do lots of off-roading. After watching "127 Hours" years ago my policy is to always text family before I head off-road: "I'm going to be on the Narrows trail, just off Death Valley Road, probably camping somewhere in the area of xyz, if you don't hear from me by Thursday, alert Inyo Sheriffs," etc. I will start using the GPS function too; could really (God forbid) help search and rescue teams.
I am not sure if there is a way to find off-road trails. Some dirt roads are in there, but you don't get topographic maps or additional trail data in there.
That would really be great to have that option. But if this nav system is similar to my previous Garmin Nuvi, at the very least it's great for showing you the way back to the road (i.e. civilization lol).....a huge help in some of the places I've explored, even though not all trails are named.
It has some dirt roads, but many are missing. There is an update to the TomTom map available. You will need a 64GB USB flash drive, and lots of patience. It doesn't really add a whole lot. Google Maps is world-class in terms of its mapping of trails and dirt roads. I also have a Garmin GPS unit with even more detailed trail maps. The TomTom system is really only suited for driving on major roads.
Yes you can. It is much easier if you can use the new MySubaru app feature which lets you search for a POI using your phone - then send it to the vehicle.

As a newbie, how does one drop a pin for location identifying on the tom tom? Or are you using Google maps? Thank you!
@@brendamw7895 I use Google maps on my iPhone and then plug that into my car.
Thank you sooooo much for such an informative video!
Can you get a step by step direction on the navigation
You sure can. Look for the route options under the menu. There is a list there.
Helpful videos. Quick question, does the tomtom navigation map trails or can you search for off-road trails through POI search? Thanks.

SubaruOwnersTips, does the TomTom gps include dirt roads/trails? I’m in Montana, and most drives are on unpaved roads on fire roads.

Thanks a Million
AWESOME, THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you. Can I set an address as point of interest?
