@Rocio Carrizo Same!! I have straightened my hair every day for the past few years because I hated the way it looked naturally and I had no idea how to manage it. But I have decided I want to try to take care of it properly and go back to school with my natural hair.
finally someone with my hair type!!! I struggle a lot with maintaining the volume and wavyness of my hair after my wash day and I was wondering if you had any hairstyles you put your hair in at night to help keep your hair wavy, days after you've washed it
you should put your hair in a pineapple and if you don't want to plop it, you can just put a silk shirt or cotton shirt on the back of it and tie it in the front! I've been doing this with my 2b/2c curls and they have been looking literally the exact same when I wash it and style it! or if you can, you can just buy satin pillow cases and pineapple your hair and your good to go. but you know even if you don't do this, you can still refresh your curls the next day and that's it.
Well damn I thought I had straight hair but my hair does that when wet too... So I guess this is why my hairs a fuzzy friggin mess unless I heat style it... I've been doing it all wrong for 42 years
Why are there so many comments telling you what kind of curls you have? You probably have some 3A curls in there too. I’m sure you put it in the intro bc this routine works for those curls as well. I swear the curly hair community is so toxic for no reason jeez
I wouldn’t say it’s “for no reason” because it unfortunately it overshadows girls with 3A+ hair types. For a long time society has made us understand that beautiful hair is straight or long beach waves. By not using the right term for one’s hair type, it just continues to feed the misrepresentation of different hair types. As somebody rightly pointed out, now when you type curly hair, you see more and more tutorials from girls with wavy hair. Now that girls with 3A+ hair are having their moment, it seems it’s getting overshadowed now by other people. And those people often don’t understand the impact it’s having because it’s deeper than just hair. When you look at hair types online, you see 5 categories: Straight, Wavy, Curly, Coily and Kinky. The problem is many girls with wavy hair get offended if you tell them their hair is wavy, not curly. Now that curly hair has become “trendy”, many girls seem to want curly hair. Obviously there’s a way to say things and some people are just angry, but I don’t think people are wrong to point out that girls with wavy hair should call their hair wavy.
the curly hair community is so toxic anytime i see a video/tik tok or anything about i hate going to the comments because i know the elitists are gonna be there lol
i have a similar hair type to hers, but in the morning the waves go flat and it looks straight and frizzy, and i'm not sure what do to. Also, i don't really like using jell on my hair because it goes crunchy. And i want to stay away from heat as much as possible. I need some guidance
I would highly recommend checking out Manes by Mell! She has some in-depth videos on how to refresh, style, and protect wavy/curly hair and it's helped me out a lot. As for the gel, you could use a mousse instead which will still give you the same hold! But generally you can "scrunch out the crunch" of gels using your bare hands or even using a light oil as well. Diffusing is totally optional, but you can always use cool air instead of hot. It'll just take much longer. If you want added volume without using a diffuser, try root clipping or gently switching your part while your hair is drying. Hope this helps!
Dude with long curly hair here, thought I had a good grasp on my hair care but gonna try your method to get rid of some of my frizz and get better curls. ❤️💛💚
Can you do a day 2 routine? I love how my hair air dries but my biggest issue with it is that I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and if I sleep on my wavy hair it looks so bad the next day, and if I wet it without shampooing it just looks super flat and sometimes greasy once it dries
Maybe trying gathering all your hair in the top of your head into a lose ponytail ( it’s commonly called a “pineapple”)with a bonnet or satin pillowcase ! Works for curly/kinky hair (:
I have the exact same problem :( looks so nice day 1, day 2 I will revive it with water and add a little reviving mousse and it looks ok, but by the end of the day I notice the roots are super oily and I don't know why!
your videos made me realize I have curly hair and I would like to tell you this because I feel like you have changed my perspective on hair. I started out with frizzy unmanageable hair. I was looking into permanent hair straighteners when I came across your video. I bought my first diffuser and some curling cream. Instantly I saw results. My hair was soft and pretty for once! I bought more products and my hair is now curly! I have never felt more happy with my hair and I have done many experiments with my hair and I have found what works best for me. I would recommend you don’t put your hair in a towel as that drags the curls. I recommended to just let it dry without the towel. This has made results in my hair. Thank you for changing my life!
Just a tip even though it feels great to wash your hair in circular motions try side to side as it is more gentle and causes less hair to fall out or break. This is just a recommendation I'm not trying to be a twat
@@shrutimenon9106 you know how u move your fingers in a circular motion, make sure your hands are on either side of your head with your fingers spread apart and go in and out... hope that make sense lol
I've been trying to let my hair go natural (I have a 2B curl pattern) and your videos have helped me so much! i can't wait to start my curly/wavy hair journey
Exactly! The rest of my hair has nice healthy looking waves but I have no idea why the top and front portion of my hair is so frizzy and has no defined waves!
this video was so relaxing to watch... i'm sitting here with my 3c/4a curls admiring your hair. natural hair is beautiful in all it's textures. LOVE it!!
My hair is exactly like yours. I usually would use heat maybe only once a week or once every other week but now i'm fully committed to going natural and your hair is literally goals. I wish my hair was that long! Love your videos girl
Her tips have been really helpful, I started trying to recover my curly hair pattern ever since I watched her hair story, everything is possible, in just 2 weeks I´ve seen great changes. The pump method in the shower I think is a MUST. Good luck!
Yesss, this was super helpful to me too even tho are hair type is a little different... I also uploaded a curly hair routine that could help you out too 💕
Love this! I think my curly hair is so difficult. I buy and try everything. I must waste thousands. Not very many folks I know understand the struggle. They always say oh you are so lucky to have curls. I say I know right but they don't realize the time and effort it takes.
THANK YOU for your detailed advice!!! I had straight hair all of my life- at 48 it started becoming WAVY!!! I am almost 50 & my hair is 2A wavy from roots to ends LOL - I am over the moon happy about it but NO CLUE what to do with it. I am re-learning everything I ever knew about hair care LOL... If I turn my head upside down & blow dry (low heat/HIGH air flow) until it's dry, I am a FRIZZ MONSTER these days! Air drying is key=) I always thought a curl defining cream would be heavy/sticky. I can't wait to try your method!!!
I’m in middle school and have thin to normal hair and it’s kinda wavy but Idk how to really take care of it and over this break is the longest I’ve gone without using heat and I just see a frizzy non consistent curl pattern that just wants to clump together if that makes any sense so now I’m benge watching your videos to try and figure it out!!
blue for you sis,... I have wavy hair and knew I had a curl pattern but never knew how to manage it, so I am so thankful that I stumbled upon this video and so stoked to try out a new hair routine that may change the rest of my life because of this! thank you!
Her hair is a lot like mine they are spirals but she has longer hair so it weighs it down and makes them look more like waves but if you look at them closer you can tell it is curly it’s just bigger and weighed down but it’s a mix between curly and wavy if that makes sense
Game Over well it’s a bit more complicated then that when someone bleaches or dyes their hair and it’s long the hair is weighed down a lot so the curls would be loosened. I don’t think we should be telling her what her hair type is since she probably knows better then us!! but you do have a really good point :)
@@briebrie2538 I just want to say that my hair type is 3a and its not like her's and a lot more like "spiral" shape. I have longer hair (and thicker) than hers and it doesn't affect my curls. I have bleached it as well... it just look different 💇🏻♀️ her hair is really pretty but I think it's wavy 😊
a slice of pizza first off I want to say you have a lovely curl pattern!! I always wanted 3a hair instead of 3c, anyway, I think that so many things impact hair health, texture and pattern so I don’t think other people can tell what curl pattern you truly have. I thought I had wavy hair until I cut it and stopped bleaching it. went from 2c to 3c!!
Sometimes my hair is curly with ringlets, sometimes it's really lose cirlys, sometimes it's frizzy, sometimes it really loose waves, it just can't decide
Finally, someone uses a wet brush! I have naturally wavy hair and the wet brush works like a dream.💖 It leaves my hair with no tangles and never hurts my head! I'm in love with it, and I encourage people of all hair types to try it out! 🥰
Tip : when in the shower do EVERYTHING upside down ( shampoo , condition and what ever else you may do ) this prevents the curls flattening due to the high volume on the shower head which weighs your hair down and this will also add volume 😌😝🤩😘❤️
Finally a real example of what a routine for this hair type consists of. Thank you for some product suggestions. I totally agree with the wait to dry time being soooooo boring. Tends to make us wavy ladies blue🌼
I'm going to try this. My hair has never been straight or curly natural. After watching your other video on discovering you have curly hair, I'm starting to think maybe I do too. It's always frizzy because I brush it out of the shower... never realized that it meant my hair may have a natural wave to it. Thanks so much! Your hair is gorgeous!
Blue❤️ I have almost the same type of hair you had where it’s wavy but frizzy, after watching this video I feel better about starting to follow a routine, my hair used to be super insanely curly when I was young but once I got to middle school I straightened it so much!! So I’m so glad I saw this video and your channel!
Ok...I’ve never really cared to take care of my hair or put in the time to figure out how to style mine natural...let alone had the correct info to take care of my hair! & this video has changed my entire routine & hair. I’m so in love with my hair again. Thank youuuuu 🖤🖤🖤🖤
I don't have curly hair products yet so I just scrunch my hair with argan oil or morrocan oil serum the same way and it defines bigger and heavier curls. I actually love it this way too because it's like you heat styled your hair but naturally!
Your hair don’t look like a 3a. Its more 2b, 2c. The 3a tipe have more Curls, yours have more waves. But its one of the most beautiful wave hair I ever seen 💕
Last night I learned that I have wavy/curly hair! I never knew! It explains all of my hair problems. This morning I washed my hair put leave in conditioner and mousse for curls without a crunch. It’s all I had that was for curly hair. I’ve only treated my hair as straight. I just put in a microfiber towel. I’m going to take it out in 10-30 minutes let it finish drying naturally and see what I get. It was so curly when I was scrunching it up! My mind is just blown!! Blue

Joanne Marie I’ve had people tell me everything from 2A to 3A 😂 I honestly don’t even know anymore!! But I totally agree it’s mostly 2C. thanks for putting it nicely ❤️
My hair texture looks a lot like hers, but my roots are straight, the waves start only at ear level, so I say it is a 2A/2B, but now I’m confused if it is a 2C hahah

We have very similar hair types, I just can not get my bangs to wave after years of heat damage :( haven’t used any heat in a month! Appreciate the vids Taylor, keep it goin ❤️
Natalie Greene keep going girl! Ive been doing the curly girl method for over a year now. At first my hair didnt curl at the ends and was straight at the front where it had most heat damage. Now the front is the most curly part! Dont give up its worth it trust me :)
Natalie Greene i am very much not an advocate of raking as it stretches out the rest of my waves, but i properly rake a tiny bit of oil through my fringe (so it is detangled and straight) and it creates the most perfect waves. they’re the best waves on my entire head so i hope this helps! also, when i sleep i plop my hair but leave the fringe out.
i basically went through the same thing with my hair and wanted to say when you get out of the shower dont ring your hair out, try and keep the water in, then brush it and put your product in, then plop your hair and let it dry. this should help enhance your curls.
Thanks to you, I literally realized that my hair are wavy, and here I thought they were frizzy for the past two years. My whole life my hair were super sleek and straight, and then I see suddenly my hair getting waves, and curly, and I was acting like a damn fool thinking that it was only frizzy.

Now that curly hair has become “trendy”, many girls seem to want curly hair.
Obviously there’s a way to say things and some people are just angry, but I don’t think people are wrong to point out that girls with wavy hair should call their hair wavy.

the curly hair community is so toxic anytime i see a video/tik tok or anything about i hate going to the comments because i know the elitists are gonna be there lol
darkfeather111 don’t speak on the behalf of the WHOLE curly hair Community
i have a similar hair type to hers, but in the morning the waves go flat and it looks straight and frizzy, and i'm not sure what do to.
You literally have the same hair type as me😂 It’s sooo frustrating when it goes flat but a layer of frizz on top 😫
@@KatRP0401 thank you so much, and yeah I have seen almost all of Mains By Mels videos😂, I'll try and see what happens, thank youuuu

Dude with long curly hair here, thought I had a good grasp on my hair care but gonna try your method to get rid of some of my frizz and get better curls. ❤️💛💚
Can you do a day 2 routine? I love how my hair air dries but my biggest issue with it is that I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and if I sleep on my wavy hair it looks so bad the next day, and if I wet it without shampooing it just looks super flat and sometimes greasy once it dries
me too :’(
@@mr.fahrenheit347 same :( i use a satin pillow case, bonnet, and put my hair up but stilll when i wake up it's a tangled mess
Maybe trying gathering all your hair in the top of your head into a lose ponytail ( it’s commonly called a “pineapple”)with a bonnet or satin pillowcase ! Works for curly/kinky hair (:
Satin pillow/bonnet and put your hair in a high pony or section your hair in 4s and twist.

Can you elaborate on how to do it side by side?
@@shrutimenon9106 you know how u move your fingers in a circular motion, make sure your hands are on either side of your head with your fingers spread apart and go in and out... hope that make sense lol

My hair is exactly like yours. I usually would use heat maybe only once a week or once every other week but now i'm fully committed to going natural and your hair is literally goals. I wish my hair was that long! Love your videos girl
I've just discovered that I have wavy hair less than a week ago! I'm trying so hard to figure out how to do it so this was super helpful 😊
Her tips have been really helpful, I started trying to recover my curly hair pattern ever since I watched her hair story, everything is possible, in just 2 weeks I´ve seen great changes.
The pump method in the shower I think is a MUST. Good luck!
Marcela Suazo what is the pump method if you don’t mind me asking?

I have wavy hair and knew I had a curl pattern but never knew how to manage it, so I am so thankful that I stumbled upon this video and so stoked to try out a new hair routine that may change the rest of my life because of this! thank you!
Learnt today that I have 2C hair with 3A curls , I’ve gotten a pretty established hair routine and when I use my den dem brush it’s even curlier!
Could u tell us what you do to “refresh” the day after? Please, that’s a huge problem for me and I’d really like to know! Thanks ❤️
I'd love to know too!
those are 2b/2c waves, 3a curls are more like spirals.
Her hair is a lot like mine they are spirals but she has longer hair so it weighs it down and makes them look more like waves but if you look at them closer you can tell it is curly it’s just bigger and weighed down but it’s a mix between curly and wavy if that makes sense
Zoe Jones ya that’s exactly why it’s not 3a, because they don’t get weighed down even if they are long
Game Over well it’s a bit more complicated then that when someone bleaches or dyes their hair and it’s long the hair is weighed down a lot so the curls would be loosened.
My hair is crazy. Sometimes it's 3b, sometimes it's pin straight. Most of the time it's just a bit wavy with a few ringlets throughout
What
same lmao
Tip : when in the shower do EVERYTHING upside down ( shampoo , condition and what ever else you may do ) this prevents the curls flattening due to the high volume on the shower head which weighs your hair down and this will also add volume 😌😝🤩😘❤️
if you do this it tangles like crazy
Helena Hele me too when i do this then flip me hair upwards again it looks like a birds nest especially when it dries 😂
how often are you supposed to get your hair wet in the shower every week? i’m so confuseddd
Jocelyn Wang so when i do wet it am i supposed to be putting any products in it?
I’ve tried this method and my hair was soooo tangled it wasn’t worth it 😩 but if it works for you guys def keep doing it!! ☺️
I am so happy I found this channel! I’ve been trying to find someone who has the same curl pattern as me:)

BTW remember to have a great day and WASH YOUR HANDS! 😂❤️❤️
TheManifestVegan omg i love your profile picture!! you’re so beautiful!
Thank you Taylor! You really change my life, now I love my hair and I fell more comfortable with myself❤️

I don't have curly hair products yet so I just scrunch my hair with argan oil or morrocan oil serum the same way and it defines bigger and heavier curls. I actually love it this way too because it's like you heat styled your hair but naturally!

You’d get a lot more curl and definition if you applied your products while your hair was sopping wet (we have similar hair types👍🏻👍🏻)
I never knew this before and just tried it and omg!!!! I’ve been drying me hair off before products and I never knew how much better they could be when the hair is fully wet

@@isthatachicken3852 Just leave in Conditioner and curl cream i think
We have very similar hair types, I just can not get my bangs to wave after years of heat damage :( haven’t used any heat in a month! Appreciate the vids Taylor, keep it goin ❤️
Natalie Greene keep going girl! Ive been doing the curly girl method for over a year now. At first my hair didnt curl at the ends and was straight at the front where it had most heat damage. Now the front is the most curly part! Dont give up its worth it trust me :)
Natalie Greene i am very much not an advocate of raking as it stretches out the rest of my waves, but i properly rake a tiny bit of oil through my fringe (so it is detangled and straight) and it creates the most perfect waves. they’re the best waves on my entire head so i hope this helps! also, when i sleep i plop my hair but leave the fringe out.
i basically went through the same thing with my hair and wanted to say when you get out of the shower dont ring your hair out, try and keep the water in, then brush it and put your product in, then plop your hair and let it dry. this should help enhance your curls.
i have 2b/2c hair!!! definitely needed this. also her face shape is so cute!!
