I gotta say Antony Starr is pretty brilliant. 95% of the time he makes Homelander so absolutely hate-able, with all his misogyny and casual racism (though even HE is side-eyeing Stormfront's levels of hatred) and his just general self-focus. But the other 5% of the time, he is able to make the character sympathetic, in the sense of what he went through as a child, the torture and abuse and isolation that has created the monster that he is today. I feel like even though he has NO IDEA how to be a father, he does love Ryan - to the extent that he is capable of it. He's never experienced love. Anyone who's ever SAID they loved him was just manipulating him to get what they wanted from him - including Madelyn. Homelander did care for Stormfront. He's got a thing for powerful, authoritative women, because he never had a mom. That's why he and Stillwell had their whole twisted thing. And Stormfront has kind of filled that gap. As is visible in Homelander's reaction while Stormfront is indoctrinating Ryan, he really does not buy into her Nazi crap. He just tolerates and allows it (which is nearly as bad). What he cares about is that Stormfront makes him feel loved and important. :-/ But he does love Ryan. That look he gives Stormfront when Ryan hugs him in the cabin - first time I saw it I was like NO. NOOOOO I do NOT want to feel sympathy for this man. And I don't really, but I feel sympathy for the little boy Vought tortured and RUINED... and the person he could have been if not for them. Ultimately the main villain of this entire show is Vought. They've hurt EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER.

Compound V is less fatal when injected into babies. It can be super risky to inject it into adults even a supe like A-train struggled with the effects of it. Also, Homelander strangely respects and is intrigued by people who don't fear him like Butcher and Stan Edgar which is probably why he doesn't just laser them right away.
It's always funny looking back and watching again, because you notice one of the first things Stormfront said to Homelander, was to mention how blue his eyes are. It means nothing first meeting her, but with what we know after watching everything...
You guys living for Stormfront when in the beginning is sending me 🤣 But also I was the same. She just seems so cool at first and then she does that to Kimiko's brother. And she only gets worse But gladly we don't have to deal with her after this season. Fun fact: in the comics Storm Front is a man
