- Okay so, I love this song, this is probably the most powerful one from the whole musical, but also I kinda beat myself up over it, since it has been done so many times by other people, and drawn so well, so I was stressing out way too much to put my own spin on it... Uhm so I hope you like it because I already stared at it for too long to really enjoy the outcome.
Also, thanks for all your comments, and nice words, they really do make my day. - The next animatic will probably be "Down once more" - from the phantom of the opera, so stay tuned for that.

Why is Hyde always so hot in all animatics I've seen
Edit: After 20+ replies I understood it's because evil is attractive and lust is the easiest sin to fall for thanks, but in the book it's said he's a damn gremlin
I think because he's supposed to represent bad/sinful/unholy things that Jekyll wants to do but he can't because he's a respectable doctor. So it makes sense that Hyde is hot
In the book Jekyll is pushing his 50s and Hyde is maybe in his 20s. Jekyll's theory is that his body changes into a younger form because he spent less time indulging in his unspecified sinful urges and thus his sins are still young. Something to that effect at least.

Can I just say that the fact Hyde looks slightly younger than Jekyll (although I could just be imagining things) is a neat little reference to the original story, where that was the case?

He is younger than jekyll because jekyll is maybe 50 or so but hyde is in his 20s
It was because I think it was like he felt free in jeckle in the original story so he was younger
Jekyll's theory is that because he's been so good all his life the evil that is Hyde hasn't had time to grow.
I love how in the beginning Hyde is just mockingly standing there and let’s Jekyll do his monologue only to torture him with his presence later.

All I can see (Since this is the only song I've been playing on repeat) is a jealous Hyde eating the vinegar jar and being obsessed over Jekyll, while trying to grab his attention with the Lucy rendezvous. And it's doomed since they're bound to kill each other/ never face at the same time. It would've been a mellow tale had they both been sane, and wrote diary entries to each other. Then Hyde will be someone whom on Jekyll knows to exist, yet they can't ever sit down for a chat and say hello IRL.
That's one version of what people percieve with rose tinted glasses, I suppose.

Is it weird that "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" is my all time favorite story but I've never actually even been near the book? I just have this vague understanding of what it is and I'm happy with that.
I actually read the book with this song on repeat in the background….I must say it added suspense to the plot!
Even though I knew the story and how it ended, it somehow still shocked me at the end! I literally said “Wait!! What happened afterwards??”

Sorry for being a bit late to the party, but here's my thoughts.
The song "Confrontation" is a work of art on its own, and people who animated don't always do the best of jobs.
You my friend... have given it justice. This video is one of the greatest 2D animations I've seen in years.

Actually in the original story Jekyll does commit suicide. Dr. Jekyll develops a potion that allows himself to swith from Edward to Hyde however he runs out while traped as Hyde and then ends his life to stop Hyde

The original story: “Mr. Hyde was pale and dwarfish, he gave an impression of deformity without any nameable malformation, he had a displeasing smile, he had borne himself to the lawyer with a sort of murderous mixture of timidity and boldness, and he spoke with a husky, whispering and somewhat broken voice...”

In fairness didn't he get younger as time passed and he gained more power over Jekyll? I believe they mentioned jekyll getting shorter and Hyde growing taller
In fairness, that description doesn't really rule out him being hot. Being pale isn't really a problem and being "dwarfish and giving an impression of deformity without any nameable malformation" in my mind immediately just makes me think of him being bit of a hunchback, certainly influenced by portrayals of Hyde always standing hunched over. Displeasing is certainly not a nice word but with some creative interpretation it could mean unnerving rather than ugly.
@@kristianhappy5069 First of all I don’t think that it’s mentioned in the book that Jekyll was getting shorter or Hyde getting taller (although I may be wrong I’m not going through the whole book for a comment) and also I believe he’s described as displeasing to look at but younger than Jekyll with something about Jekyll not being evil much so Hyde just seems younger and what not
It never said that Hyde was actually ugly, as shown *directly* by the name "without any nameable malformation". The smile was displeasing because it was creepy, and that is pretty much it. With Hyde being physically almost 30 years younger than Jekyll, of course he's him but hotter.

I feel like Hyde was just trying to get a kiss at multiple points especially the beginning but then Jekyll made him mad after saying the “Close my eyes line” and making him vanish. The look of sadness, confusion, surprise, and betrayal on Hyde’s face when stabbed made me feel for him. I mean come on Henry?!

Great job! That ENDING. How he (spoilers) starts melding together in time with the music is just so well done. Love getting to see them separate to see what Jekyll sees/feels and then slowly have the illusion removed. Hope you’ll do more!
I adore how Hyde leaves no personal space. But seeing the comments, one question. What could have Poole and the servants at Jekyll's house think? There is a man going around in the house like if he lives here, (pronaly when Jekyll couldn't control the transformations) going in/out from his bedroom, randomly sneaking around the house, wearing Jekyll's choltes whats are way too big to him? If that were in the modern age, instead Poole panicing to Uterson that something horrible could have happned to Jekyll's, the morern would be like "So, Mr. Uterson.. I think Jekyll has a lover? I think thats the murder guy"

I think this video is one of the best ones I’ve seen. It truly lets you know how Jekyll and others who battle with split personalities go through and the music and lyrics and voices of the singers are just perfect. This should be in a Disney movie about the two. Well done.

The saddest thing about this song is that when Hyde says ‘I’ll see you there.’ (Replying to the ‘rot I hell’ from Jekyll) he’s right. Due to them being the same person, just two entities (I think) Hyde will go to hell but will bring Jekyll down with him.

The thing that always gets me in this musical? Jekyll does understand Hyde is a part of him. Why else would he threaten suicide in regards to Hyde? He knows that he's becoming dangerous hence why he decides to end it.

As an edgy troll, who believes the nonsense I spread.
Jekyll and Hyde is a relatable dynamic in part because in person I'm nice, soft-spoken, and I despise needles confrontation.
But online I'm like another person, here I can freely speak my mind without fear. My ideals are boldly presented to the masses as is my edgy flamboyant flare, especially when it comes to my sexuality.
As IRL I present myself as straight prude teetering on asexual, as in public I am disgusted by sexual acts (online too to some extent).
But online I can reveal my enjoyment of femboys and proclaim that it is "not gay as long as it's the Roman way" which I have been saying for a few years now hoping it catches on.

Uhm well... S.K was here long before me, but my interpretation is not based on his/hers. Hyde's singing gives a very good idea of what kind of character he is, so the main reason that most people imagine him as a seductive/crazy person because he is... a seductive crazy person.
