I could hardly believe it when I saw your star tree topper. It is the same one that my parents 1st bought before I was born in 1962, and I grew up with this star on top of our tree my entire life. My Mother gifted the star to me when I got married, and it has been on my own tree for 32 years and counting. I just celebrated my 60th birthday...and this star is so sentimental to me. I have been so excited for Christmas this year and decorated my entire house this past weekend, the earliest ever for me, but I'm saving putting the tree up until the day after Thanksgiving. That beautiful star is waiting for its place of honor!
What a beautiful story Mary! Thank you for sharing that with us. Now when I see my star I will think about you and how much your star means to you and how you proudly display it. I absolutely love stories like yours, because it's like you are carrying a piece of them with you. I have an ornament from my Mother that used to hang on my Grandmother's tree. I think it was one of a very few that survived us kids putting them on the tree. When I was older and realized how precious that ornament was my sweet Mother gifted it to me. It is by far the most special ornament I have and I look forward to getting it out each year and placing it at the top of my tree in it's place of honor. Your story warmed our hearts! Christmas was my mother's favorite holiday, so I especially love vintage ornaments and all the fond memories they bring. God bless you! 🌟⛄🎅🎄
I think that is why I love Christmas so much because it reminds me of all the wonderful times we would decorate our home as a child. Even when I was older we would pull the Christmas tree out after Thanksgiving and all of us would decorate with my Mom. Oh how I miss my Mother and Dad but I certainly have some special memories. I love all the vintage decor and the way you display all if it. I don't have a lot of vintage Christmas things, but I have a bunch of vintage postcards that my grandmother used to collect with the stamps and writing on them from the 1920s and 1930s. Some of them had Swedish writing on them as her parents were Swedish immigrants and still had relatives in Sweden. I took some of the Christmas ones and made a garland that I display across my mantle but i can still flip them over and see what was written on them. They are a treasure for sure

Well, this wonderful video was somewhat bittersweet for me. Your decor was so nostalgic for me. I remember all the vintage decorations in my grandmother’s home as well as my home as a child. Then it makes one realize how much time has gone by. You have such a beautiful collection and of course, your way of displaying is perfect. Forgiveness sets you free to be more Christ like. You and your sister are such a blessing in this world full of turmoil. Happy about your shop!!!
Thank you Sara! I think I realize now more than ever how quickly time has gone by. It seemed like yesterday when I was a child at home decorating our tree or going to my grandparent's for Christmas. What I wouldn't give to go back and really cherish every moment. I don't think we often realize until time has gone by. I just see so many memories as I decorate now and I cherish each one of them. I guess that is why I'm so nostalgic during the holidays....I sure miss all my loved one. God bless you sweet friend, you are such a blessing to us!!!

You absolutely do not overdo for Christmas. I do as much (or more) than you do, and I love it. I have some cabinets that I keep Christmas items on display Year round. My real tree (covered in vintage glass ornaments), is still up, as are all my decorations. My house is still lit up outside, and I’m still listening to Christmas music and doing crafts. What may help to explain some of this is that I am from northern Minnesota. We have a ton of snow, it’s been sticking in the trees for weeks, currently we have a winter weather advisory and my late afternoon plans have been cancelled. It will easily be winter here for a few more months, so it seems like Christmas every time I look out the window 😆

Michele, I love it all! Those Santa mugs that you added little touches to are precious but it is so hard to pick a favorite. I just love vintage Christmas items, Santas in particular. I have a few Christmas cards and post cards and I adore bottle brush trees. I also have quite a collection of the cardboard putz houses and churches. See what I mean about loving it all? ❤❤❤
Diane, me too!!!! I don't think there is a vintage Christmas item that I don't like. I love the putz houses too but I don't have any. I just don't have enough space to decorate with all the vintage stuff I have but one day I will start collecting them because they are fabulous!!! Old Santa's are a weakness. I tend to gravitate to anything with an old Santa. I would love to see your collection, I can only imagine how beautiful your home is at the holidays with all your vintage inspired dolls!!! I scanned the comments quickly and didn't see if anyone commented on the sticker you couldn't read - but it's a Josefs Originals. I collect their Christmas mice figurines. I have several collections: the Lefton angels, the Lefton Christy items, Santa and Mrs. Claus salt and pepper shakers, Gurley candles, some Holt Howard and Kreiss items, and many other ceramic items I display on a desk. It's always so fun when you can find a new treasure to add to a collection.

I think I fell in love with old things when my Mother told me about the old Christmas bulb that we put on our tree from my Grandmothers. Something about the old things just made my heart happy. I was traveling last week and went to a Goodwill in the little town we were in. I say a tin and it had four of the little Santa mugs in it and I think from the looks of them they were old. The red on the handles was chipped in places. I didn’t get them and now I’m sick about it because I feel like the would have been so cute hanging on a tree. 🤦♀️
