I’m pretty good with 3ds Max but modelling live and talking about it not in your first language is almost as impressive as having a dog named “Render” ;)
Make sure that your Snap (S) is set to Vertex and that the edge constraint is on, then just activate the function and you are good to go. You can also try selecting all the vertexes and scalling them to 0 size on Z axis. Good luck!
