That was awesome! Of course Miss Greta stole the show, just like my grandson would do! Go kids! We had 5 yucca plants put in by the previous owners. We uprooted 3 yucca and tossed them in the burn pile. So they sat as we added to our burn pile over the next couple of months. Now those 3 yucca we cut and threw in there are sprouting! They're like the Terminator, they won't quit! Also, we now have 5 sprouts growing up where the 3 we pulled were growing before we uprooted them. We're frustrated! Hopefully a serious weed killer in the trunk and roots will do! So many thanks for showing us that!
Thanks Rob, nice to see you on the air again.
Thank you so much for this video, my husband was in the process of trying to use a shovel. The one we have is even bigger. He is now drilling the holes and will follow your instructions!! Your daughter is adorable.
What a great idea! I have one to get rid of.I used to like it, but now want a new look. Thanks Rob😊
Thank you for this video. I have a group of yucca in my front yard that I keep the spikes pulled off so they look like palm trees and I like this look. They've been there for years and yr after yr a big old trunk dies off and crumbles but impossible to get out of the ground. You've shown how. Thank you. Pull those suckers up with my SUV. Dred pulling up all those vine roots.
That was fantastic, my yukkus have been two stories high and spread out extremely wide. Took 10 years to get like that.
This is great information. Thank you
🌸🌷💕
Met You at bunnings a few years back .love Your energy.keep doing what You do well bud.
Great video really simple down to earth explanation thanks again I’ll give a go now
Good Stuff! I cut 4 down at my mom in law's yesterday (offshoots from the original stump), drilled lots of holes in the stump and poured in the weed killer. I'll re-treat again and see how we look in a couple of weeks. The original stump was cut pretty low a few years ago but i'll deal with it. More in two weeks when I try and pull it. Great video!
Your video was so helpful. Thank you so much. I really appreciate the tips.
What a classic, I’ve got a few stumps to get rid of this will work nicely!
Hey Rob, great videos and I like your enthusiasm! Keep the videos coming :)
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
That was so informative and funny! Loved it, thanks mate! xD
Great video Rob. I always wondered if this type extraction with root killer would work faster close to the fall season when the plants sap is moving down to the roots. It may not but it always made sense to me.
This was badass, very informative and entertaining!
Great Video - very helpful, thank you so much
Adorable!! Great job!!!
Love his enthusiastic.
Ive been battling yuccas fircyears now but have only been spraying the tops so will try to drill and spray the buds
Thanks Rob - good practical hands-on advice. FYI - i now have leaking pipes caused by a yucca - my advice is keep 'em in a pot, not the garden!
That is exactly the way I intended to pull out my yuccas... Why bust a pooper valve when you can let the diesel do all the work, eh! Thanks for confirming the viability!! Love your work.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
Excellent ,I've got a massive one that's gotta go ,now I know how 👍
Thanks for the video,my father in law is heving the same idea for pulling the stamp out👍
I enjoyed this video pretty fun
Just one thing, never tie onto the tow ball, always use a rated tow hook or shackle- seen some nasty accidents if the tow ball snaps - be fine with a yucca but anything bigger might end badly. Also use a long rope as sometimes they sling shot out if the roots are well imbedded. Great tips
Rob.
I know this is an old comment, but another thing you can do is use Amsteel Blue or dyneema rope. When it snaps it just falls limp, instead of springing back like a whip.
Can I have a LOVE button please!!! You remind me of How to Dad lol love you
Too good, best entertaining video
Amazing mate
Thanks Rob. Great directions (and cute kid :)
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
BEST. VIDEO. EVER!!!
Thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you very much
Solid vid
Very hellpful
For our yucca I have to take them on with a 16lb. digging bar. We don't get the wide trunk. I have so much to get rid of. They gravitate to wherever I am growing plants and they're predatory to trees, etc.
Great video but I was wondering do we need permission from the council to remove yacca trees? I am in campbeltown NSW. TIA 🙏
Hey mate
If the trunk about 8 times bigger ..
can we just put weed kill and cover it up
Oh God I got a garden job today and client wants the big yukka dug out by the end of the day... eek
Thanks Rob your awesome. My Yukka has a base about 3 foot wide and is very tall. Its starting to push against my house and lifted all my garden bricks. Its time to go. I think i need a tractor.. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for Watching!
Does the yucca have to be that loose to determine if its dead? I used heaps of pure roundup around my yuccas for 3 weeks, soaked the cut trunk too.. but they still feel solid? They were not big plants either
Get video on how to get the yucca out. Liked and subscribed! But I would have saved it by potting them, selling them for $100/ea or giving them to friends. If you put them in pots, they won't grow any larger and they are literally zero maintenance. You can even hide the pot in the ground so that it looks like it's planted. :)
Hi Rob, great tips. Wondering can you offer some advice on how to trim to the left of the yucca you were removing? Can it be stripped like the yucca?
I love the way she puts the cover back in camera 😂
How deep you can able to drill the holes on the trunk
Thanks Rob ,I got a drill and a weedkiller ....see how I go....( may need a bigger car ha,ha...)
Can you put a yucca through a wood chipper. I have 12 yuccas all over 3m high. Cutting them down isn’t a problem it’s just getting rid of all of them
What kind of weed killer do you use ?
Can I ask what weed killer you used?
Good vid but daughter was sooo adorable 😂😂
I can’t use a car any other suggestions
Mate great video. What drill bit did you use to drill those holes? My drill is struggling to push through the fibrous trunk and just creating a milky sludge!
It would have been an auger bit. A halfway decent 13mm metal twist bit would go through yucca like butter
Weed killer was a great idea.. I can't wait to try this week on 15 trees 😢😢
Crushing it bro
great rugger shorts
Old Ignatians Rugby Football Club. Thanks.
Hey #Bruh most weed killer is designed to destroy the plants ability to feed and so the soil is blissfully un affected.
Thought it was only my hubby that does that 😂😂
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
Jajajaja que buena 😂👍
Just so people know, the trunk cuttings can be placed in dirt and sprout into more yuccas.
Well I have one of those green/yellowish yuccas that the former (dumb) owner of my property planted within 300mm gap between the veranda slab and 1m retaining wall. Sprouted out with 4-5 large stems pretty thick to a total grown-out space of about 700mm wide. Cut down to a bit of the stems up.. drilled, put in super concentrate (max) killer (Roundup). I am about to replace this 1m retaining wall and the idiot prior owner also put in golden cane palms (will do it to those too). See what happens in two weeks time.
Why trow away the plant ? Replant where there is barren land....
Worst tree ever! Thanks a lot!
Hey rob in this was that baby girl your child or not
yep. Greta. she likes to do everything.
+Rob Palmer DIY so she is you child how old is she can we do a collab
Rob Palmer DIY So she is you child
Sure is. Have a great day.
Rob Palmer DIY bye and were on homes and gardens
🤣 drive out yukka entertaining
Poor thing.
need City Council approval first?
Wish I would have seen this before I hacked it down. I will kill it but nothing to pull it out with! UGH, I will get the football team over.
Repot the branches ££
Yours is a Baby
Awwww I would love to have such a big beautiful Yucca like that. I found you very brutal in removing her :-( Thumbs down.
Can't believe you cut down and destroyed that amazing Yucca. That was the nicest plant of any visible in this video, and it had an amazing trunk. You should have just pruned up the leaves to expose trunk and just left a few leaves on top. Sad sad sad. This is a terrible video.
