I had an amazing experience seeing my first US Open 9 Ball Championship in person. Ko and Gorst are both amazing people and amazing players. Pool is a great equalizer of people, young and old, big to small, all variety of bodies all competing at high levels. Pure joy being here in person
yep, not just young and old people. but interestingly, the game remains the same as it crosses cultures and crosses the globe. everyone learning the same shots, draw, spin, etc., from NJ to Bulgaria....
Going to my first pro event next week in Vegas. Can't wait!

After potting 99 balls in his 11-0 win in the semi finals, there was no doubt in my mind that Ko would bring home the trophy.

@steviemcqueen3022 cue ball needs some space to be jumped, if you get it within about 1 balls distance of the covering ball then you are unable to jump it

@@jotauploadsstuff one ball distance is far by todays standards, see Melling "whats in the bag" with Karl Boyle. Melling demonstrates jumping a ball within/less than a quarter inch of adjacent ball. or just notice alot shots less than a ball. discussion was CB left the table s/b a foul, back in the days.........

Fantastic tournament, nice to see the Barry Berman trophy and Shannon presenting it. Every participant showed great sportsmanship and elevated the game. Have to hand it to Ping Chung for shellacking Yapp and keeping the pressure on Fedor. Hope to see prize money keep getting higher in the future for such amazing players.

Beating Gorst in the finals in this fashion is just an incredible feat, especially winning ten games in a row and 11-0 shutout as well in the semis. Both amazing players, amazing gentlemen and ambassadors of the game. Congrats to both!

Was really rooting for Gorst, probably cursed him by watching it live. Ko played very well though, was good to watch
It makes no sense to be showing them playing in, say for example frame 3. and then skip a few shots ahead in that same Frame and then put on the screen in big letters "FRAME 3". It's just confusing if nothing else. You don't need to put anything if you're going to be showing more shots in the same frame. Every time I see those words........Frame 2, frame 5, frame 8. I think, Oh, it must be skipping ahead to the next frame, and then I have to look down at the score right away and try and figure out if it's the next frame, but then find out that it's just more of the same frame or sometimes they did just skip ahead to the next frame, but there's no reason to put what frame you're in up there again if you're showing more shots from the same frame still. Just put what frame it is up there one time before the first shot that you're going to show of a frame. Or if you absolutely feel the need to put words up there, put...."MORE FROM FRAME 3. So it's not confusing, But absolutely no words on the screen are necessary if you are just showing more of the same frame you have already been showing. It's annoying.
