  • In this episode I test the asi 294mm pro to it's absolute limit in 47 megapixel mode while purposely oversampling it on my Celestron C6 SCT. I often wondered what it would look like in my poor seeing bortle 6/7 skies.
Well let's find out shall we?

Great to see that you're getting lots of sky time, I'm still waiting to get my first light, been close to 8 weeks of cloud! Lovely image 👌

Thanks I'm glad it turned out as well. I really wasn't sure! And 8 weeks!!! Good gravy! I hope you get some sky time soon!

Agree. Underrated channel. Although, I wish you would show final photo with some epic music at the end. I missed it.😊

Hi! excellent video. Regarding the Antlia 3nm filter, does it have a marked side that indicates which one goes towards the sensor and which one goes towards the telescope? Thank you and you have a new subscriber. Clear skies.

Hello there! Thanks for watching this one! I just checked for you. It does not have a marking for that! Hope that helps in some way.

Hi friend, thank you for your interesting video. I would like to ask you a question. On the left side of your screen I read that the photo was taken with 120 seconds with O filter and on the right side of your screen I read on the window that the photo was taken with 80 seconds and with B filter. You may have used a filter wheel for both filters, but is the comparison good if you use 120 sec for the 7 nm and 80 sec for the 3 nm? 👋

Hello there! Yes I used a filter wheel . I see what you are saying now. Sorry for the confusion here. Apparently I used 120sec in 7 NM and 180 in 3NM. So no this is not a fair comparison. However I find it interesting that the 3nm still blocks out more light. Makes sense but it's kind of cool seeing it in action. My bad on this one. I'll be more careful in the future!!

Nice video and results with the C6! These Antlia 3nm filters are nice quality for the price; they are bullet proof for my Seattle downtown Bortle 8 (Bortle 6/7 seems lovely haha ... ). Too bad we can't do the same trick for broadband targets.

Well hello neighbor and thanks!! Yes I was surprised myself and everyone has been talking about these filters for awhile. Glad I got to try one. I'm definitely going to get an HA filter next. It's also great to hear from someone else that they are great too! Hopefully we both get some sky time. Smoke and clouds have come in lately but I did see Orion peaking over the horizon the other morning! And bortle 8 whoa these filters must work! 😆

@@astronotna Better get that Orion view now cause we probably won't see it this winter XD. Maybe one day I'll see you at the SAS star party :).
I recommend the SII because it's always so dim. The Ha is pretty abundant even on the ZWO Ha. I'm essentially limited by the thermal noise now with the Antlia, so I see no advantage travelling to dark sky for nebula targets. Broadband targets is a different story.

I was thinking that myself. Might wake up early and get that view before the clouds move in till spring. You are probably right on that Sii. I was looking into the SAS lately. Indeed maybe I'll see you there!

Hi, love your videos, I'm in England light pollution is getting really bad here, but on the animal sounds, the first time I went out to shoot in the country side I opened the car door and two foxes were screaming at each other, I thought someone was being murdered, keep up the great work 👍✌️
