  • Just what the title says. We didn't post this to start any feuds - we split this interview w/ RF back in 2010 so it's not from last week or anything.
    Are we blatantly uploading it to take advantage of Kevin Nash's appearance in the 2014 WWE Royal Rumble? One could say that.
    If you want to watch the entire dvd, you can do so right here for only $3.99 --

      @TJ P nah it went out because Bishop screwed up by revealing Mankind was gonna win. He lost all his ratings right there and they never came back.
      Goldberg was such a shit storyline, NWO would run in every single matches even those they were not involved in EXCEPT Goldberg matches. If anything, his streak should have been over the first night. Also having Bonehead I know only 2 wrestling moves and I'm gassed after 2mins in a ring win 150 straight matches is one of the dumbest thing ever written.

      Diesel vs HBK at wrestlemania is an amazing match. NWO is history. Diesel was loved by the fan, Nash was loved by the crowd. See the pops for him in every fuckin return. People just loves him cause he got charisma.
      He was lazy he probably fucked up WCW in the last year with Hogan, Russo and Bischoff but he was one of the man that changed wrestling for ever and created the most and unique amazing year of wrestling. Pauly did it too, they just had different vision and reason in their critics. But I think Meltzer and indies fucked your brain and wrestling now is crap, so stop hating people like Nash, Goldberg, X - Pac, JJ and other that where fuckin loved in 90s, in first half of 2000 and still loved by people that really loved wrestling before the stupid pipe bomb and that dumbass Yes Movement.

      +OldSchoolGamer1203 And Kevin Nash's probably biggest and first mentor in wrestling Rick Rude died of a heart failure at age 40. In fact, in this very shoot interview Nash said that when Rude died, a part of him left. So I don't think Nash would appreciate awful comments like yours, because someone might write the same about Rick Rude.

    • @speedanchor2781

      ***** First of all, I do find it both funny and sad that there are actually people who have criticising the "IWC"/"smarks" as a gimmick (guys who use "IWC darling" in the first response to my comment or have "u mad IWC?" in their profile pic). Secondly, I think that making fun of Nash's quad injury, or any wrestler's injury for that matter, very disgusting to be honest. Yeah, I didn't criticise the guy for making a Nash quad joke but I didn't because you already did it. I just didn't like you using Eddie Guerrero's death because I think that every long-time wrestler and every long-time fan has at least one friend (like Rick Rude for Kevin Nash) or favourite who died way too young.
      And a lot of the guys in your list are actually very popular with the IWC, Cena gets tons of appreciation from smarks, especially recently, Triple H gets all the credit for NXT for simply pushing "smark favourites", Roman Reigns has a big female following, Sheamus isn't perticularly unpopular either reading RUclips comments, Kevin Nash has his fans, Hogan is arguably the biggest star in wrestling history which also is recognizable on the internet, even after all the scandals he had and more and more people realize the actual talent Scott Steiner had, learn about his early work and appreciate his entertainment value instead of make fun of it.
      And the same thing goes vice-versa, a lot of kids and casual fans loved guys like Eddie Guerrero and other, as you call them, IWC darlings. When I was a kid my favourite wrestlers were Eddie Guerrero and John Cena, one of the guys in your list. And Sasha Banks for example wasn't a smark either when Eddie Guerrero became her favourite wrestler.

    WCW stole, or for a better word, aquired plenty of the ECW roster. It was not overrated, ECW was an innovator. Doesnt mean you necessarily have to like it, but it was a big hitter and influenced the styles of the its competitors WCW and WWE.

      ***** Try to knock it? People knocked it back then! Ask Lawler. Ask Cornette. ETC. The only difference is that the audience watching grew up and realized just how stupid & dangerous a lot of the shit they were doing really was.
      In their nine year run the ONLY memorable feud was Dreamer vs Raven. Outside of that, it was just gratuitous violence & highspots. The long term talent like Sabu came in fresh and left with the body of a broken down old man. Look at him now. The guy moves slower than Jake Roberts and will never retire because he is broke and a drug addict. Just like every other ECW talent, that never took advantage of WCW's midcarder job offers or made it to WWE.
      People like Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero, Mysterio, etc only stuck around long enough to get noticed by WCW because they had options and were already at promotions like NJPW and AAA. They KNEW Paul Heyman was a shady promoter, that exploited their talent to get the brand over. So they left for money & notoriety. Notoriety which later landed them jobs in WWE.

    • @shadesofbluee
      @shadesofbluee 10 лет назад +3

      Sloop John Best booked? That's funny. The fact that Raven vs Dreamer stands out as the only memorable feud says otherwise.
      There were plenty of good matches, but that had a lot more to do with the talent and a lot less to do with booking. In fact the whole Raven/Dreamer feud was entirely their own work.
      Everything else was one massive blur because Heyman booked everything with no long term plans, mere hours before the snow.
      No one discounts Heyman for inspiring Russo's ADHD booking. Because everyone knows Russo stole from ECW, Jerry Springer and every other other tv program aimed at the lowest common denominator.
      Cornette & Lawler worked for WWF while Russo stole from everything imaginable matters because what exactly? Like they're suppose to starve for "moral conviction". That's funny.
      Lawler also appeared on ECW, per Vince's request. And tried to workout an angle between Memphis & ECW. An angle Heyman ruined by going back on his word. Just like he did when he agreed to make peace with Coraluzzo.

    Nash and Waltman can complain about Paul Heyman all they want, it doesn't mean anything. They just don't like him because they know that Paul Heyman only looks towards the future of wrestling, he doesn't look back at older wrestlers unless they're worth it and they know that he would never ever make them main event guys again if he was ever in charge.
    Also, Nash talks about how unsuccessful he was and how ECW made no money. That's tough talk from a man who helped bury a much larger company in WCW (yes, I know there were many more people involved in WCW's demise but to talk like he's smarter than Paul Heyman is ridiculous).

    • @SaskeDevil
      @SaskeDevil 10 лет назад +3

      Facts are facts. Heyman didn't play wrestlers in ECW. He owed a lot of people money. ECW didn't draw ratings on their short lived TV deal. Their ratings were lower than TNA's ratings, and ECW was in the boom period for wrestling.
      When Heyman booked Smackdown the ratings didn't raise. Heyman can talk all the shit he wants, he wasn't as successful and smart as people make him out to be.
      I do think Nash is smarter than Heyman... because every where Nash went... he got paid.

      When Heyman was head writer for smackdown in 02/03 there ratings were beating raw, even if they weren't smackdown was just an all round superior show. I agree that Nash was paid handsomely everywhere he went but if that is how we judge superior intelligence then by all rights ted turner's wcw should have won the monday night war. The only thing Nash truly excels at better then Paul Heyman is that Nash is better at convincing himself he's still in the early 90s where his below par wrestling was considered entertainment.

    ECW was a different product than the WWE. The WWE model has proven to be successful financially. The ECW was entertaining, innovative in many ways ... and too much innovation can take you out of the mainstream (and profitability). Van Dam has been reduced to 5 holds that we have seen over and over again for several years. It's the WWE way and Van Dam benefits well financially from the arrangement. Heyman is clearly skilled with his writing/ideas/mic skills.

If ECW didn't do anything for the business or Paul Heyman for that matter, then why is it ECW is still yelled out when Heyman or RVD hits the ring to this day? ECW was NOT just about hardcore wrestling. It made WWE a billion dollar company(Attitude Era). Plus revived the careers of StoneCold, Brian Pillman, Cactus Jack etc etc etc Plus brought AAA Mexican wrestling to the U.S. first, as well as presenting great matches like RVD v. Jerry Lynn, Taz v. Sabu. And it was Vince McMachon that term the fraise Evil Genius about Paul Heyman. Plus he's still on TV, are Nash and X-Pac? NO... Need I say more.

      There's not a lot I like about Nash or X-Pac, but it's well documented that Paul Heyman stiffed a lot of his wrestlers out of pay because he couldn't afford to pay them. Also, ECW back in the day could only book bingo halls and the occasional 250 max joints because they were nothing in the business. Back in the day Vince McMahon tried to run an angle with ECW, specifically Tommy Dreamer, RVD and Heyman which failed spectacularly within two weeks because the crowds at WWF were thinking "Who the fuck are they?" Basically ECW doesn't exist today unless VKM wants to resurrect it in name just so he can spit on it.
      ECW during the Invasion Angle back in 2001 were far overshadowed by WCW - ECW was added only as a tag on rather than as a dominating factor in the angle. ECW was a mindless, violent, drink, drug and sex haven where each and every wrestler whom performed there didn't give a shit if they hurt their opponents - all they cared about was getting the mindless violent, drunk and drugged out crowd to cheer.
      ECW didn't revive SCSA's career, or Pillman's or Cactus Jack's because nobody was watching ECW back in the day. The majority of people only know of their participation there today because it's in their history which has to be mentioned for timeline purposes, but back in the day no-one knew they even came from ECW - most people assumed they'd come from WCW.
      As for the matches, nobody knew about them unless they were there, and today they're only known because of RUclips. There's no doubt Heyman is a good mouthpiece for wrestlers who can't speak, but what relevance is that to how legit ECW were back in the day and for that matter, today? None at all.

      Diesel, Big Sexy, etc? How can no one remember one of the two guys that really kicked off the Monday Night Wars (assuming they're a wrestling fan)? X Pac on the other hand is still a familiar name when talking about the attitude era, but not so much. ECW is still remembered because people want to associate anything hardcore with it. It's like that kind of stuff was popular in Japan already, and to this day exists in a number of smaller companies while ECW is long gone.

    • @alec1115
      @alec1115 9 лет назад +5

      ***** When Heyman said "if you're over 40, I'm taking your head," he meant that he wanted to build and focus on young talent if he took the reigns at TNA, which he did at ECW. That strategy would have been best for TNA, because it would have been cheaper and had better long-term implications. Heyman ended up not going to TNA because he wanted full personnel control, full creative control and part ownership and Dixie was uncomfortable giving that to him, which is a shame.

    • @bdr113080
      @bdr113080 10 лет назад +3

      XJOEMANN13 the term "shoot" in wrestling doesn't mean its a bad comment. it means ur just speaking out of character and being honest. just means ur talking and not doing a promo. 2nd, he didn't tear his quad in the rumble, he tore it on RAW in 2002 (it just shows that people that hate on Nash are all new fans that know nothing of career, just say it because "its the cool thing to do") he tore his quad getting ready to run across the ring, when ur in ur mid 40's, have long legs (that gave him problems when he played basket ball, thats why his basket ball career was cut short) and u weigh 300 pounds it can happen pretty easy. there are NFL players that have tore their quad just running to the huddle. My question to you is this. Why are you mad at him because he got hurt? Do u hate Magnum T.A. because he was in a car wreck that ruined his back and made him retire? do u hate bret hart because Goldberg really injured him in the ring ending his career? about the legends contract...u might not like him but the man is a legend. he held the WWF world title longer then anyone else in the 90's. he has held the WWF IC belt, tag belt, and world title, the WCW world title and tag title. Are you mad as hell at Bret Hart,Xpac, Flair, and Mick Foley???? they all have legends contracts.

    The reason ECW in well known now is because WWE bought them out and took it mainstream. During the Attitude Era, down here in Texas, I never heard of ECW until 2000. ECW didn't make any money? ECW couldn't draw? they went from averaging 200 people per show in 1992 to drawing almost 2,000 people (all paid) per show in 8 years - that might be small compared to WWF numbers, but talk about not drawing. Compare the WWF's numbers when they had Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, & Ultimate Warrior where they were selling out 3 buildings per night, 5 days per week to there numbers when they were led by HBK, Bret Hart, Razor, & Diesel the lowest point in WWF history was the year of the Diesel in 1995 - talk about not drawing!
