A wonderful piece, performed with excellence, after a sermon I heard today concerning God's Peace! To Him be glory, as He reveals Himself through composers' and musicians' excellent skills with which He has provided There IS peace in a turbulent world. Thank you, Scott Brothers, for promoting it so magnificently.
I grew up Roman Catholic and have since left the church, but the most beautiful music was played on the live organ that was 2 stories tall. Being in person feet away from that wall of sound is something I will always remember with fondness.
When at Durham between 1971 - 74, I remember attending worship in this very Chapel (we Anglicans had been invited) when Mgr Bruno Heim gave the homily. His pronunciation of the Papal greeting, "Zee 'oly fazer sends you 'is piss!" induced complete rictus in the jaw-muscles of every student present; as we struggled to contain ourselves.
Well this is a rebuilding apparently, Pugin's original was just too small and extending it seems like it would be too costly. So they kept as much of pugin's windows and design as they could and built an entirely new chapel, still ever so beautiful. The King of Gothic, Pugin would be proud!
As usual, top shelf playing. I question the design of the organ, though, with much of it squeezed into a cramped chamber above the console. The sections on the balcony are OK; they speak freely. Time used to be, unfortunately, that church architects had the final say on organ placement rather than the organists and choir trainers who had the musical skill and acoustical understanding to better do this.
J.K. is too harsh. I've heard this played faster and to me that seems more of a gallop or trot; dreamy slow seems to suit it just fine. And as you know, some of the finest organs and world-class organists are in Japan.
The original piece is meant to be played faster then this video because it portrays a feeling of reflection not exactly relaxing but sort of a fond reminiscent memory or recalling a happy memory
This music is even better on the organ then on the piano, I play this piece on my piano. Thank you for this beautiful music.
than on the piano
it sounds more emotional and melancholic on a piano in my opinion.
The organist at my former church played it before the service & during collections.
I personally like it on the piano. The organ makes it sound majestic, but the piano is better for a calmer mood.
Everything is very beautiful in this video: the performance, the sound of the organ and the Chapel! Thank you both for this beautiful video!

A superb film in every respect, another one to watch many times
Beautiful organ, beautiful playing.
Thanks you

How funny.
OMGoodness this music is soo peaceful and completely relaxing. It would go well as a background for a meditation gathering 🌻🙏
especially if played more quietly
Beautiful... ThankYou 🙌
Beautiful but so melancholy. Very nice Jonathan, thank you.
Nice transcription on this little organ !
Fantastic
Lovely piece 🥰🌷🎶
My ears ring after that long G note
I came to your concert in ripon and met you
Different. Thanks.
A very nice piece, I wonder if you'd perform this piece somewhere as it would sound amazing on an organ I think, Prokofiev - Dance of the Knights
2:18 😍🥺❤️
this is so very nice, you need to go on the Cathedral organ, best H&H in the country (am biased tho)
Glad to see the chapel Pugin built being used

Solo stops are too loud in both cases. The piece is much more effect MUSIC if one has to really listen for the melody.
1:47 ciarki
too slow, need to listen at 1.25

Mutsurini and so ???
@@MrDomi77 that's it. 1.5 is even better, and if you put on 2.0 you can dance like a valzer. Try it, you woudn't be disappointed.
