    Your voice and instructions are so clear and concise; very easy to follow and understand! This stitch looks like a lot of fun to do, and with the fact that you need to cut off after each row and with the colorful potential of it, I think this sort of stitch would make for a fun temperature/mood blanket or even a scarf!

    The color pattern is quite interesting. The vibrant colors are alternating with the dark colors. However, there are only three different dark colors in the repeats, to the six vibrant color repeat. Then, what really throws the visual, and almost gives it an illusion of movement, it the offset with the blue/red back to back. Until you see it, your eyes struggle to see the pattern. You know it’s there, but just can’t quite identify it. This is quite genius. I’m considering this with some earth tones, instead of the vibrant colors.
    Thank you for this video. What a creative idea. 👍👍👍

      @@naztazia my eyes naturally draw to a pattern. I looked at this, noticed the pattern, then realized it shifted (almost before my eyes). I put my glasses on, thinking it was my imagination. Then seeing more clearly, I say the shifts in the two different sets of colors. I examined it, for what seemed like hours, although it was really on a few seconds, to try and find the exact repeat. That’s when I found the repeats are separate between not only the colors, but because of the vibrant shift, the greys no longer followed the exact line. However, at the same time, they never alter. Even number of vibrant colors (6), and two sets of grey at three shades also equal 6, my brain was telling me that the colors should never shift. Yet me eyes were telling a different story. That’s when I realized the immediate shift from blue to red, without the grey. And bam, the epiphany! Found the sorcery that was stretching my visuals to their ends. What a wonderful experience. I will be trying this, at some point. I just can’t say when. Thank you for this. ❤️

    This is so timely! Fantastic video--great production value and very clear. There was recently a tiktoker who showed this stitch and was making gorgeous little pouches but of course--it's tiktok--it's going too fast to really understand unless you are pausing the video every few seconds. I thought I recognized the mosaic technique but I wasn't sure. I'm so glad someone in one of my craft groups linked to your video so I can really understand how this stitch works. Thanks again!

    I love the look of this stitch. Thanks for your very clear instructions. When I crochet over ends, I find that they may eventually pull out, so instead, I will incorporate the strand into my working crochet when I pull the first loop through a couple of stitches. It doesn’t add any bulk and make it quite secure. You’ll definitely see how secure it can be if you ever need to frog it. Ha

    To get that beautiful pop like in your final example, would you do every second row with the dark colour. So dark, bright, dark, etc? It is beyond beautiful!

    • @joerenzullo4257
      @joerenzullo4257 2 года назад +2

      Pretty much, yes! You will notice in her example that the color sections move over by one stitch every so often. She follows the red row immediately with the following blue row, which creates the start of the next color motif on top of the end of the previous gray motif. Otherwise, though, it alternates color/dark as you suggest.

    So to make something that looks like the thumbnail (which is gorgeous), I would just alternate a gray row then a color row? This is absolutely beautiful!

    • @DrasticEvasion
      @DrasticEvasion 2 года назад +3

      I looked hard and noticed she alternates the vibrant colours with grey scale, ONLY Until the end of the vibrant sequence, THEN instead of using grey between sets - she starts the sequence over again MINUS the grey... So it goes blue grey green grey yellow grey orange grey pink grey red THEN blue... This way it offsets each colour sequence
      Sorry about putting it in capitals but I felt it was necessary 🙂... I get brain farts way too often 😑 I certainly surprised myself with this one 😄

      Thanks! I used leftovers from the stash mostly in as creative way as possible. I alternated one bright color row, with a row of either a gray or black. So red, black, pink, dark gray, orange, medium gray, yellow, black, etc. Then every so often (11 rows perhaps) I shifted the colors a bit, whereby all the bright colors lined up instead with the neutrals. On my website there is both the written pattern and larger photos to get a better idea.

    Why can't all patterns be like this? We don't need a 7 hour video where 6 hours are spent on the back story of how your great grandma's cat inspired you to get a dog and then your best friend's hamster told you to crochet. Short, sweet, and to the point is best!
    Now I know what I'm doing with my black yarn and all my colorful yarn 🥰

    Is there a way to slow this down? Thank you.

      Yes, Click on the gear * icon, then select playback speed, and select either .5 or .25. That will slow the video down a lot for you.

    Naztazia, your tutorial differs from the finished piece which is seen at the begining of the video: where you turn over to show us the finished crocheted piece:
    You haven't told us that IN every second row you MUST use a dark coloured wool, to off set ONE ROW of a bright colour :
    Those 3 DARK colors are:-
    Black
    Dark grey and
    Grey
    Your tutorial doesn't show that.
    Also, when you used the bright orange, after the bright pink, that wool colour should've been black, and not bright orange:
    Your blanket in EACH ROW is in a colour code: It's in a sequence:

      The mosaic moss stitch is a crochet technique, not a color scheme. You don't need to use the darker colors, only if you want to. The stich pattern looks nice in just two colors as well.
