@GrahamBradley yep we're due at least 4 more books this year. In order Goodyng, Horseman, Bloodruth, and then Isom 3. Horseman starts as soon as Goodyng ends, and Bloodruth drops around Halloween.
This is the most honest review I have scene. I can't argue with any of your points. There were a couple of pages where I wasn't sure i was reading the panels in the right order. The overall story was good and I will definitely get #2
I enjoyed the art more than the previous books, but I still don't like the buildings, each artist should have a different and look when it comes to drawing builds, but it looks the same as the previous books. The dialogue was the weaker than the other books. Too much monologuing from both antagonists and protagonists. Like it was trying to use up pages to fit in the 90 or 100 pages.
I must admit I hae a problem with Graphic Novels. Nothing to do with (often amazing) artwork, or the writing. I'm old, nearing 70 now, and I did collect DC and Marvel and Dark Horse in my younger days, but I've always been a reader and appreciate the author letting my build my own images of peole and places. I think that's why I love Peter Jackson's LotR films.. the images very closely resemble what I imagined when first reading it. Immense respect for the vision of the people who made those films. Another book series recommendation. I'm currently about half way through Steven Erikson's Malazan series. This is a 10-book (currently) series, each a little shorter than Wheel of Time books). Erikson makes a point in the first book - This is somewhat difficult to read, but perseverence pays off. Nothing wrong with the prose itself. It's very evocative. It also can be disorienting, switching characters, sometimes several times in a page. The charactewrs themselves are beautifully written. The series also jumps between different times so the books aren't linear. BUT the world is explained in context so that's not bad.
Panels are cluttered and the story lacked flow, in my opinion. I enjoyed Von’s Haunted Castle review of this book. He pretty much hit the nail on the head.
Alphacore was the best, Isom2 then Isom i loved the artwork on Yaira but i didnt like Yaira story or the action it didnt flow right to me and it felt all over the place
There was definitely some jumpiness throughout, I thought it came together by the end even if the first two-thirds were a little more shifty than the other books. I liked how it overlapped with the Alphacore too, I want to see more of these characters in the same stories. Sounds like Goodyng drops soon...
First review I've seen. This was great.
From the little I've seen on the pages, the book looks good. Well done to Debora Carita.
Superb artist, I want to look up her other stuff. Do you have a copy coming?
@@GrahamBradley No don't.
Goodyng is coming out next month. You won’t have to wait
Awesome. I'm following like 10 series right now so I couldn't remember offhand what was when, lol
Spring of 2024 they say. 👍
It's June it drops this month. Likely within the next couple weeks. They are releasing it with the new website
@Firebird1968 Nice, I remember him saying Yaira was the final campaign but I missed the Goodyng date

Thanks for watching. I try to be honest, even with the stuff I like. I figured if I had that semi-confused experience at some parts, others did too.
The fight scenes felt disjointed to me. When they started popping in and out of the lab…I thought I missed a page.
I think I got that impression once or twice too. That happens to me occasionally when I read other comics so I don't track it too closely 🤷♂️

I don't mind the building part so much, they're all drawing the same city for the most part.

Don't know who that is
