    Very good and independent report, thank you! I think this Conquest VHP is a truly milestone for all those who appreciate ultimate precision in a watch they can rely upon. I own the 1969 Longines Ultra-Quartz and the 1972 Longines Ultronic , and I do appreciate all the great improvements presented in this video, especially the easiness with witch the the watch can be sent to "sleep" and then recover at the exact second.
    It is important to mention that when changing the battery every 5 years (or longer in case in the meantime the watch was put on sleep mode from time to time) the new battery if replaced witnin 6 months from the first sign of "end-of-life" will make the watch go to correct second and also the calendar will be correct , because while chaning the battery the electronic internal mechanins will continue to work .
    I like both versions, perhaps the chrono version in 42 mm with the silver dial is truly timeless sports elegance .

    I like the design. Good introduction to Longines VHP. Respect Longines effort.

    Intriguing. Looks like they put a lot of thought into these. And honestly: Having one or two quartz watches in one's box doesn't hurt - be it only to adjust the mechanical ones ;-)

    I'm not a quartz fan either, but I'm all for innovation and cheaper prices which take the customer seriously. This is a great attempt by Longines. I wish it/them well.

    I like this CEO. Longines has been doing a wonderful job so far. They do best with what they can and have. Way to go.!!

    Great. Longines was the first brand in watches I liked. Think of early 80's Formula 1 days (in my house still black and white). Never owned a Longines and it seems won't buy this one even though I wish there were funds to get this wonderful timepiece. Really amazing watch. maybe in time I will be able to get me one.

    This is a cool new product can you also reset the seconds hand? How do you set the date if it is a perpetual calendar?

    • @watchestv-com
      @watchestv-com  7 лет назад

      For the perpetual calendar, you have nothing to do unless the battery is totally empty, in which case you will have to go to a service center, but this is very unlikely. And for the seconds hand, you can do this yourself. Best to you

    Great report! Do more on Longines, Hamilton, Oris, and Fortis. Not every watch enthusiast can spend thousands and thousands on a watch.

    Lovely piece. I have one on order, Sept delivery. I love mechanical watches like most people but the precision, look and price point of the VHP is too good to pass up.

    I like the new V.H.P. Conquest a lot, when is the release date ?

  • @Pulsonar
    @Pulsonar 7 лет назад +1

    From my view there is just a hint of Cartier Tank about it, more in the seamless bracelet and dial, not the dial of course, which is a good thing, Longines return to glory, very nice...

  • @belava82
    @belava82 7 лет назад +3

    Longines have very nice and affordable (by Swiss standards) mechanical watches like Conquest or Hydroconquest. For a less then a 1000 USD you can have really tough mechanical watch, with good case, overall finishing and with a reasonably nice bracelet. Their designs are quite original and what is more important they are not trying to copy anything from upper market segments. Their guaranteed lifespan of service is at least 15 years after a purchase and their service prices are very affordable. On top of that you are getting a brand with a nice history. In my opinion right now they are a sweet spot for people who want to have a good mechanical timepiece, but can't or do not want to spend more on higher brands like Omega.
    You can also think that they somewhat stayed true to their origins by offering quality watches for a reasonable price.

    • @watchestv-com
      @watchestv-com  7 лет назад +2

      Well summarised, they indeed stayed in their territory and have done a good job at it.

    i noticed Longines Conquest have model that have the VHP printed on the dial, some dont (and selling cheaper, about $700. Do you know anything about it?

    • @watchestv-com
      @watchestv-com  7 лет назад

      The VHP is indeed reserved to the high end part as it stands for "very high precision"

  • @andrewsmactips
    @andrewsmactips 7 лет назад +1

    Now, if the seconds hand ticked five times a second, or continuously, that would be something.
    Would probably eat into battery life though.

    i would buy it...., but i have OCD so i cannot buy watch which has wrong inner bezel, numbers 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 are wrong(up-side down), it drives me crazy. Why only few vendors are doing it the way my eyes+brain can accept. Or at least do not use that inner bezel at all, then i will buy it, thank you. Otherwise perfect idea for technology(as i am looking for a quartz with perpetual c.), also price is acceptable.

    Not so sure Watchestv should be purveying proletariat price points. I can just go to a crappy store and play with this cheap stuff myself. But its not easy to see a Richard Mille or Greubel Forsey and learn all about high-end craft.
