Djonga is one of the best Brazilian rappers at the new school. It has as references Racionais Mc's, Emicida, and other legends that he always mentions in his songs. Djonga is as relevant to our scene as Kendrick Lamar in the USA! Even Djonga himself has quoted K.Lamar songs of his. "Listening to Kendrick Lamar to never forget I'm not good yet."
This! 👆
Djonga is on the top of the modern brazilian rap scene along Baco Exu do Blues, with a lot of social consciousness and criticism.
He sings "the truth that hurts when it's told" about racism and social prejudice.

Yo, in that last part, the woman in the toilet represents god, sitting on a throne and he's kinda standing there waiting for his turn to sit on that throne. The woman is looking at a fashion magazine with women with ideal bodies aswell. Theres a lot of shit to think around what he made on his videos and musics. The biggest of our generation over here. Shout out from BRAZIIIIIL!!
Nice point man
And by shitting while reading it, it means she doesn't give a shit about it 😂

"não sei se ele é bem aceito no Brasil"
Djonga manda e desmanda em Minas Gerais, e basicamente é o responsável por mover a cena nacional inteira.
The interpretation of that ending is that the woman represents God, who is always represented as a man, white and thin, and in this case it is quite the opposite. You can also see that she is reading a fashion magazine, that is, shitting the beauty standards imposed by society and the Djonga stands beside her because he is waiting for her to leave the "throne" for him to take over, hence the boy who I wanted to be God
One more thing, on part 1 you can see the Brazilian flag, which is in the chair of the rich family, being more specific, in the chair of the man, was sewn by the poor and black family. First the flag on the sewing machine, and then on the rich man's chair.
this is your opinion and interpretation or djonga said somewhere? im curioussss

Samba makossa, SALVE CHICO SCIENCE!!!!
Brilliant how u understand so much even not knowing the references he makes during all the song.

Hey men, ive been watching your reactions for a few days now, u just came up in my recomendations and bro i cant stop watching. It's awesome to have someone from a different country watching and listening to our music and our culture and be so polite and hyped about it, understanding how it is and making that many precise coments even with that language barrier. Anyways, as a fan i just want u to react "A Música da Mãe" from Djonga as well, that shit is fire.

I'm from Brazil and Djonga is literaly my favorite rapper, if you but his name on youtube u r just going to find out lot's of ft. of his, just a little treasure this site
Unfortunately you need to live in Brazil to fully appreciate Djonga. The number of references he throws at you is insane
dude great reaction and great analisis
Congrats bro
a lot of his references comes from de fact that he was a history student, before de sucess come.. Djonga is amazing, he brings a lot of social critics of our brazilian culture that was been here since 1500 into now
Djonga is one of the greatest rappers of history of this country, in my opinion! June of 94 is when he was born, and the names in the song "neném e dieguinho" is from some friends of him that have passed away he talks about them in others songs too.
hope u listen and react to olho de tigre (eye of the tiger, in english). love your videos and the way that u r making brazilian music and culture more noticeable!
About some references mentioned during his flow:
- Renato Russo was a important singer who added so much to our culture. His track "Lost time" is still sung in ever "music circle" (it's even cliché); He died with AIDS (HIV);
-"Parents and sons" is also a mark of a generation, sung by Renato Russo;
-"I just wanted my toy that cuts swaetahirt" is a mention from Racionais MCS's - Vida Loka part I.
-"And die idol like Ayrton, and not die early like Ayrton" Ayrton Senna was a world Formula 1 champion who died tragiclly inna race accident. Despite being an idol to brazilians, he died at 34 during the height of his career;
-"I'm a book of Tim Maia written by Nelson Motta" You already know Tim Maia. His life was a tragedy as his suddenly dead, inna music show;Nelson Motta is a famous writer, songwriter
-There are some hip hop refences samples in the end;
Salve Salve!
As a Brazilian viewer of your video, despite the language barrier you understood the essentials of "June '94", perfect brother I liked it a lot.
De BH pro mundo . . . vlw Djonga Pela representatividade
That line about the "Screams of the excluded ones" 1:37, I believe it's a reference to the "Shout of the Excluded Ones", an annual march that takes place in several cities, on September 7th, brazilian Independence Day.
This movement started in 1995, organized by the progressive wing of the catholic church and is a way of getting together several movements, organizations and activists fighting against social injustices and highlighting the farse of celebrating independence while our economy and politics are still influenced by the strongest capitalist countries and companies and our people remains shackled to poverty and violence.

This song and and your comment about Donald Glover relate so much. It is exactly on point. They gotta make it, but then they have this gigantic guilt hunting them. Don L says that in a song “fighting to become part of the system that I fight against”.
The feeling of a successful black person in our system is beyond me, must be tough as hell.

Ayrton is Ayrton Senna, is a formula one driver that won a ton of prizes and made formula one very popular in brazil for a period of time. He died very early, at 34 years old in 1994. Renato Russo is a very important singer from a band called Legião Urbana, that was and still is very important to brazilian people because of the social, personal and political lyrics of their songs (mainly written by Renato). He also died from a young age by AIDS, 36 years old in 1996. The song Djonga references is called Tempo Perdido ("Lost time") by legião urbana.
Best of Brazil, bro. The best!
Hey goony, idk if you'll read this, but your channel is so important, me as a white brazilian who studies/knows about activism, me myself can see and feel the music, and your reaction and identification with the lyrics, and the way u feel it more than a lot of brazilians themselves. I use to have the goosebumps with those lyrics and punchlines, but when i see u having and feeling em, it gives me more, its so dope when u react and realize that we actually know about activism, and black culture, and references/troubles in the usa, cause the main concept of brazil is that we dumb and shit, its so good for me to know that our country is being seen, and our culture and wisdom is being reflected around the world, thank you a lot for your job, appreciate that for real. Shoutout from brasil
It's great to know that someone likes Brazilian rap
