@xtwilight321x2 I do not know how to explain in any more clearly. Think of it like this: you are looking for a number that can be divided by both the numerator and denominator. Listing factors for each is best since then you can see which factors are common to both. Once you have these factors, the biggest one will be the GCF. Now, you divide both sides by this number to get your reduced fraction. Email me through YT if you still don't get it.

@nicnric1122 I cannot believe you are asking this, as this is the exact topic of my next video lol...In any event, you would just simplify the fraction part, e.g., 2 and 8/10 would become 2 and 4/5.
There are times when the whole number will change, but you are not likely to see this. It will be in my next vid, which will come out within the next week or so.

I see many comments in all math videos saying ‘he /she teaches better than my teacher. He/ she explained this in few minutes where as my teacher took one hour ‘. I agree that all RUclips teachers are doing a great job . But I have a question suppose your teacher taught you the same way as this guy did(in 4 minutes the same thing) .d” Do you think every kid in the class will understand? Real life example: My iPad 4 has a resolution of 1536x2048 pixels, but these numbers are too big for H.264 video export encoding. What is the next smallest aspect ratio, then the one smaller than that, down to the smallest? I am hoping to find the largest one that will be acceptable with my project settings, but more importantly for this forum, have the process explained so I can do it for the rest of my life. The CGF for your video example was clearly 3, but aspect ratios in video production need to be found constantly for all sorts of screens and building projections etc to determine the highest quality with least lag due to file sizes, etc.

Because both 18 and 15 can get multipled by 3 ,3 × 5 is 15 and , 6 × 3 =18 , then he took the 5 and 6 and made it a low fraction.

HOW TO SIMPLIFY FRACTIONS THE EASIEST WAY:
If the difference between the numerator and denominator is 1, the fraction cannot be simplified.
A. Ask: does the numerator go into the denominator evenly (i.e. without any remainder)?
If yes, proceed to B.
If not, proceed to C.
B. Great! The simplest fraction is 1 over the number of times the numerator fits in the denominator. (e.g. 20/60, 20 fits evenly 3 times, hence 1/3.)
C. Write the remainder, (e.g. 20/46, (20 fits 2 times in 46, with a remainder of) 6.) to the right of the fraction, and ask: does the remainder go evenly into the numerator?
If yes, proceed to D.
If not, proceed to E.
D. Great! The "remainder" is the Greatest Common Factor. Divide both the numerator and denominator by the GCF/remainder to have the simplest fraction.
E. Write the "new remainder" (using the last example, 20/46, 6 fits into 20 with a "new remainder" of 2) to the right of the previous "remainder", and ask: does the "new remainder" fit evenly into the previous "remainder" (2 into 6)?
If yes, proceed to D.
If not, proceed to E.
