Being blind myself I can definitely agree that handshakes are quite awkward at times lol. Same thing goes with answering the front door sometimes people literally just stand there and wait for you to say something rather than just saying hey. I've definitely probably looked like an idiot a few times in my life saying hello to thin air just because I can't see whether someone's their or not. Really enjoy the casual atmosphere you've got going on between you two you should make it a weekly podcast where you guys just talked about random stuff for an hour or two each week.
I work in the HVAC industry, and you would actually be surprised how many people put streamers or tape paper to their air vents. Some are older people who can't hear the air kick on, so they use it for a visual indication the air is on and working. A lot of like machine shops that have engineering guys working in them will also put stuff on the vents so they can see it's working... also people who complain about the temperature a lot will do it so when the fan shuts off they can complain things aren't working and that's why they are/hot cold.
Loved these first two videos of this series and very much looking forward to the third one! I would definitely watch if you do some tech talk videos, though it might be a good idea to start with some "explain like I'm 5" basics so even the dum-dums (like me) can follow.
Watched a bit of this video before bed. In my dream I remember seeing that this vid was 8 and a half hours long and thinking "bloody hell Dave and his co host spent ALL DAY together making the vid?".
there's like 3 different ways to scan a card now, chip reader on the bottom, the magnetic strip that everything still has, and you can touch them to the screen. I find the chip reader is just a crap shoot sometimes, just 50/50 it won't work, so you swipe it instead, but the tap works well.
This was a great listen, keep 'em coming! I'm sick of Simon inviting you on stream, Dave, and then not letting you talk 😂And mark me down as a "yes" for more tech talk. (Julian, your mom's two cents re: watches is HARSH, dude! ...she sounds pretty awesome actually. She and I are probably about the same age.)
@1:00:00 There are actually several Floppitron RUclips channels. Some are just drives while others are elaborate enough to include scanners and printers.
I can match your jumpers with Cat5 connectors! One of the teachers I worked with got tired of the cardboard box of used connectors on my windowsill and put them in a large vase like those rocks that were popular for a while.
Yooo guys I just wanted you to know that I really enjoy the two of you talking and also the format of the video with the google result stuff. But the main reason why I wanted to comment in the first place was to say that I understood maximum 1% of what you guys were talking about with the tech/computer stuff and I still enjoyed the hell out of it. Genuinely, please make a podcast where you talk about literally anything and hang out and drink and I’ll be entertained. Great stuff, keep it up!
Folding US currency different ways is what is usually taught for identification. Because I have a wallet with two sections, I have less styles - ones and tens are unfolded, fives and twentys are in half width-wise, and when the bank hates me fiftys or hundreds are in half lengthwise. Coins are a different sizes EXCEPT quarters and the rare coin dollar where you have to be careful to check for ridges on the edge ($1 coins are either smooth or have letters engraved).
I have an idea! If you guys do this live and plug the time and day you're going to do it at the end of one of Simon's streams you can get more views. We can ask you questions while you guys have drinks. Just a thought...

My kids realized that they put braille on the bathroom signs but not on the fire escape doors... wtf America 😆

my sfx pet peeve are the dogs -

b) dog on camera in scene? must do a little whine
I’m too tired to think of a good comment but I want to help the channel, so I hope this will do. 😊

First
Can see you guys are influenced by Simon, going off on a tangent that has nothing to do with the content
It’s surprisingly easy to do :-)
Not blind related but why don't I hear people say quid anymore?
Omg you said it! Lmao I just haven't heard that in a couple years. I'm American. So I was just thinking maybe that's not a thing anymore...
